A superb Cowboy Romance!
I really got into this from the beginning and stayed until the last delicious page. Ben and Silver, no two people more polar opposites, yet in sync with each other, will you find. Country cowboy meets city starlet, and they clicked. On the inside, both were quite the same, surprisingly to each other.
Loved their time best on the trail, with their horses, mules and a sometimes fickle nature, where they got to know each other, no interference from anyone. Neither backed down, and gave just as good as they got. I chuckled often with the bluntness and witticisms thrown in! A bit of intense drama that showcased their mettle.
Reality and people intrude giving them a ton of hurdles it seemed, but I enjoyed reading how they overcame or compromised. Learning how their love and most importantly, trust, can only make their lives better, richer, stronger being together.
A great fast paced journey you won’t want to put down until the last page. Very well written with the right amount of feels to conclude with a wonderful sigh worthy HEA
Controlling dads, good looking rancher and famous movie star! What’s not to love? This is the 3rd in the series the Miller’s of Morgan Valley. I have read out of order, but not a problem. This time it’s Ben Miller’s story and how he met up with Silver Meadows. The story touches on a few different issues, controlling fathers, insecurities, drug use, etc. Kept me interested throughout.
When true love bites you in the butt, it doesn’t matter is one is rich and famous and the other just a plain cowboy/rancher. Love is love.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a wonderful addition to the series. While it is the third book of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
I will say that it took me some time to warm up to Silver Meadow. She is an actress that wants to go on a trail ride in order to prepare for an upcoming role that she would like to do. Ben Miller is a local rancher who is struggling with his older brother inheriting the family ranch and what his role is. These two come from two totaling different backgrounds. She is “Hollywood royalty” and he is a rancher’s son and a college dropout with a black mark in his history.
Can these two overcome their differences and have a HEA? It was a read that I enjoyed reading but Silver appeared a little too much standoffish but since the story is written in my favorite dual POV format, it helped to connect with the character.
This is a sexy read. I highly recommend this to anyone over the age of 18.
I liked Ben and Silver’s love story. Ben was a rancher through and through. He was a second son whose family ranch had been turned over to his older brother to run and he was feeling unimportant. His dad was a hard man who taught his sons to suppress their emotions otherwise it made them weak. He got an assignment from a friend to be a guide for a mystery client who needed a realistic backwoods ranch exploration experience. It turned out his client was a famous actress, Silver, who he had always thought of as a beautiful woman. She wanted a part in an indie western film and needed the experience without anyone knowing where she had gone. Ben was her guide who gave more than just the roughing it in the wild kind of lesson. I liked Ben’s character and Silver turned out to be not so much of a pampered holiday princess as she appeared to be in the beginning.
I’m not really a fan of explicit sex scenes. I feel like you can get the chemistry without the specifics in detail so I didn’t really enjoy that part of this story. The story itself was a good one. Ben and Silver both had to assert their independence in order to find lasting happiness. There is a happy ending to this story.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
This is about Silver and Ben and how they handle issues on the trail, as well as their burgeoning romance. Silver may be a Hollywood actress, but one thing she is not, is spoiled. She is real and genuine, and the connection she has with Ben, along with their beginning romance is just great reading. Their story will hit all the feels that readers look for in a Kate Pierce romance, and this one is no exception. For readers that love western romance, you won’t want to miss “The Rebellious Rancher”. I read many genres, and western romance is one of my favorites. I received “The Rebellious Rancher” and leave review voluntarily based on my reading. 5 Stars!
‘The Rebellious Rancher‘ is the third title in ‘The Millers of Morgan Valley‘ series, and it kept me flipping pages from start to finish.
Ben, as the second son, didn’t get the ranch as he’d hoped. No, that went to his older brother. So, now Ben is trying to find his own place on a ranch that isn’t his to run – and most likely, he’ll end up heading out on his own one day. But for now, he’s heading up a trail ride trip for one spoiled, entitled Hollywood actress who is certainly not accustomed to what she’s going to find on this trail ride, nor the attitude that Ben is about to bring into play. For Ben, this is the chance to get away from the ranch and thoughts that he’d rather not face right now. For Silver, this is supposed to be the chance to get ready for a part that she desperately wants in an upcoming movie. She has no idea that her overbearing, overprotective, controlling parents are at the center of this experience… or that she’d return from this trip a much changed in attitude young woman. Funny how some events have the exact opposite effect than was intended, isn’t it?
I could say that it took me a bit to warm up to Silver, but she was portrayed, early on, pretty much as I’d expected a spoiled, catered to actress would be when she has to do all those mundane things for herself and is cut off from social media and her phone. What I did really enjoy about Silver was watching her change, become a different better person the longer she was away from parents, career, and social media. In the end, I liked her and was definitely rooting for her to get that happy ever after she and Ben so deserved.
I adored Ben from the start. I ‘got’ why he was so upset about the ranch, understood how much he loved it, and how now he’d be making different life choices. Watching an angry cowboy deal with a pampered star brought out the giggles, and the eye rolls. I had such a good time with the interactions between Silver and Ben – and loved watching them both grow from the people we first meet to a couple who will have to face a lot to be together but their resolve and love are strong enough for that.
We’ll run into some familiar faces, watch a couple grow individually and together as they face some very real dangers, and enjoy a romance that makes my heart smile. If you love a good love story with an unlikely couple facing challenges then ‘The Rebellious Rancher‘ is perfect for you.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Kensington Books via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
This was another great story by Kate Pearce in the Millers of Morgan Valley series. Ben Miller & Silver Meadows come from very different backgrounds. He’s a Cowboy rancher and she’s Hollywood’s sweetheart, who wants to audition for a movie and needs to learn something about trail rides. Their characters are great together and this was a story I couldn’t put down. Look forward to more Morgan Valley stories.
THE REBELLIOUS RANCHER is book two of the Millers of The Morgan Valley series written by Kate Pearce. Ben Miller, resentful that his father has given over the ranch to his oldest brother, has accepted a trail ride job on the Morgan Dude Ranch. His mysterious client is a movie star, Silver Meadows, and they find they have more in common than they thought. Soon a romance blossoms—but can a jet-setting movie star and a homebody cowboy find the best of both worlds? Kate Pearce delivers a fascinating story about two people, so vastly different yet share similar upbringings that develop a rapport between them. The trail ride allows a reader to watch Silver learns to fend for herself and finds confidence and determination to break away from her controlling father to take charge of her life while Ben comes to terms with a painful past to which he was not responsible for. Together, they find acceptance and love. THE REBELLIOUS RANCHER is a delightful western romance that takes readers on an adventurous trail ride with a movie star and her handsome, sexy cowboy.
The Rebellious Rancher by Kate Pearce is book Three in The Millers of Morgan Valley Series. This is the story of Ben Miller and Silver Meadow. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one but I do feel this is a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Silver is a actress that is ruled by her family and Hollywood. When Silver is sent to do a Wilderness Trail she thinks it is related to her job. Ben is offered a large amount of money to take Silver out for a 10 day trail ride. Ben needed to get away from the family ranch after his father had chosen his brother to run the ranch. So he needed the break but he didn’t count on the feelings that he would have for Silver. Silver starts to find herself being away from her overbearing family who depend on her to survive. Silver starts to see things clearly but she also starts to have feelings for Ben. Enjoyed their story.
The Rebellious Rancher by Kate Pearce is the second in the Miller of Morgan Valley series of cowboy romances. Ben Miller is a quiet, brooding man. He is the second brother and both relishes and resents his position. His father has just given the ranch to his older brother, Adam, so he needs to decide what his future holds. His past has not been so great. Can his future be better? He has a part-time gig leading trail rides at a local dude ranch and this one must be a doozy. They are prepared to pay four times the going rate and Ben can’t run it down, despite the fact it is calving season and his father is on a rampage (when isn’t he?) The client is Silver Meadows, a woman he has known most of his life, through a television screen. The amount of luggage a woman could think to bring on a trail ride was unbelievable. That was the first hurdle. As the days wore on, the two became friends, and then more. The fact that it was temporary was always in the forefront of their minds. Then it was over.
Both of these wonderful characters carried a lot of baggage . . . of totally different kinds. Ben was still smarting from his experience from 10 years earlier, the one that lad him to drop out of college and colored his life forever. Silver, from not only her drug dependency, but from the general hassle of a parent who cared too much and a press and public that gave her little space. Their heartbreak was real, although much of it was the result of overbearing fathers. It hurt, and finding their separate ways through it was difficult. Struggling for independence always is. They both had strong support systems, although sometimes it felt like strong prison bars, with loving parents who were each misguided in their own ways. It is a lovely book, full of romance and passion, and so much more. I loved it. You will, too. I recommend it.
I was invited to read a free ARC of The Rebellious Rancher by Netgalley. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own. #netgally #therebelliousrancher
At first glance Ben and Silver are as different as chalk and cheese. Yet both are battling intense emotions while dealing with the stresses of their respective lives. Aside from the chemistry and romance which was depicted well, I liked the personal growth of both Silver and Ben. It was nice to visit the Morgan family once again in this enjoyable series.
This book opens with Ben Miller dealing with his feelings of disappointment and frustration along with many other feelings towards his father and himself. Knowing that his father has given the ranch to his older brother he now feels lost for he is tied to the land like his family before him he just can’t change the look in his father’s eye or mind. He is asked by a neighbor to take someone on a private trail ride. He agrees though it upsets his family. He also finds out that it is an actress by the name of Silver Meadow he remembers her old T.V. show from years ago. Meeting her at first does not go as he had planned.
Silver arrives but she also has issues going on with her family especially her father who has been handling her career and she wants control back but he keeps doing things to keep that from happening. Once on the trail ride, the author uses the ride as a way for Silver to gain strength in herself knowing she can do things and not have to rely on others. Ben has shown her how to set up camp and break it down and by doing so she has gained self-worth that she was lacking.
When they are back in their own environment, he leaves the family ranch to manage a nearby ranch. Silver wanting more control is fighting with her father which comes to a head when Ben goes out to California and is suddenly gone along with her phone and the Wi-Fi not working. When she returns from her shoot, she finds out what happens and really lays into everyone. By the time you get to end, you are now wanting the story to continue. I found this to be a very good book with excellent characters. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at

The Rebellious Rancher is Book 3 of The Millers of Morgan Valley. These stories all stand perfectly fine on their own. I enjoyed revisiting past characters but it doesn’t take anything away if you haven’t read them all. I have loved everything ever written by this author and this story was no exception.
An excellent story with great character development and amazing chemistry between Ben and Silver. This was an intriguing story that drew me in from Page 1 and kept me engaged throughout. Highly recommend.
Cowboys, ranches, trail rides, storms, danger, manipulative dads, Hollywood, and young love all combined to make this a fantastic story I did not want to put down. I also liked that I was never sure how the story would end so I had to keep reading. This book really had it all.
I loved the trail ride and Silver’s attitude which made Ben want to get her riled up. It was fun to watch her character grow from the experience.
I also enjoyed Ben’s large family, although his dad sounded pretty scary at times. It was nice to see he had a relationship with his mom after she had left their family a long time ago. It was interesting to find out why she left too.
My favorite part about this book is Ben. He has been through so much but it has made him stronger and I enjoyed watching him finally figure out what he wanted in life and how his dad even helped him. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Enjoyed the story. It is well written, entertaining and a great addition to the Millers of Morgan Valley series. Ben is to take Silver on a camping expedition to prepare for an upcoming movie audition but a serious accident tests Silver’s ability to handle a life and death situation. A serious attraction between Silver and Ben meets a lot of opposition but eventually everything works out but a lot happens first and there are a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings. This is a great read and I would highly recommend it.
I absolutely loved Silver and Ben! Sparks were flying from the very beginning. Throw in a daring rescue, a misunderstanding and meddling fathers and you have a winner!!
5 stars!!
This is the third book in The Millers of Morgan Valley Series. I thought this book was an excellent addition to the series. The characters were well written and completely believable. The pace was great, and it made it hard to put down. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.
This is story of finding your purpose in life and discovering love. It’s about two people who are in very different spheres of life who come together, discover love and struggle trying to find some way to be together. This story is so well crafted and believable I found myself rooting for them to make it work. Silver Meadows grown up child actress struggling to find her own way out from under her smothering manager father and Ben Miller, second son rancher trying to find a place to belong of his own.
Ben is adrift, his soul is restless. His gruff Dad has left the ranch to his elder brother Adam and he feels like he’s not valued, just the one who cleaned up and did the leftover jobs no one else wants to do. So when neighbor BB Morgan offered him a job as a trail guide he jumped at the chance to get away. He figured he’d get his head on straight, sort out his priorities and figure a path forward for his life.
Silver Meadows is a child movie star who now grown and is tired of fluff roles her Dad keeps finding for her. A serious role in an indie western movie is coming up and she wants it. She decides if she goes on this trail ride it will give her some experience so she’ll be taken seriously for the roll. Unfortunately she fell into a drug habit 3 years ago after an injury and got addicted to pain meds she has since rehabbed. Her Dad is trying to control her life so she won’t relapse as he’s sure she will. Ben is made aware of this and asked to keep a sharp eye out for drug use.
I loved watching the growth and self confidence in these two people. Silver is such a fish out of water being without her support staff doing for her. It’s just she and Ben and the horses on this trail ride roughing it. I enjoyed Ben seeing another side of life outside of the ranch and the toll fame takes on people. He has such a good, patient heart as he teaches Silver how to survive on the trail. She has to put to use what she’s learned when she has to rescue Ben in an accident on the trail. They weren’t looking for love but found it anyway. Later Ben experiences the fish of of water when he has to help her PR in Hollywood later. These two people mature into better people because of their time together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Rebellious Rancher by Kate Pearce
The Millers of Morgan Valley #3
Ben Miller and Silver Meadows really shouldn’t have common ground. Ben is a man of the land who works hard on his father’s ranch while silver has been a star since childhood and has had a rather pampered life. The fact that the two are thrown together on a trail ride begins to create bond between them. The tricky bit is whether that bond will be able to strengthen enough to stand the test of time. They deserve a HEA if they can figure out how to make it happen.
What I liked:
* Silver: a capable woman that knows what she wants, is able to express those wants and willing to hurt those she loves to stand on her own two feet.
* Ben: a man who has always played second chair to his older brother, tried to do what is right and experienced a life changing event before he turned twenty. He is a bit stuck and needs to decide what he really wants.
* The trail ride and how it brought out the best in Silver and Ben
* The way the meddlesome parents were dealt with
* That though the parents were meddlesome they were still loved and treated with kindness
* Seeing how a family with controlling parents might end up with children feeling as the Miller and Meadow children did.
* The writing and the way the characters grew on me
What I didn’t like:
* A few of the parents – they were too much and needed to be reined in
* That people working for Silver were not always loyal to her
* The way media impacts the lives of celebrities but also those on the fringes of the lives of celebrities
Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes
