Anthony’s hands are drenched in blood as The Reaper, he’s become accustomed to it.He wanted Rosalina’s empire. He would have stopped at nothing to take it. But instead, she stole his heart. What happens when The Reaper is told to “handle” the Pretty Killer? This is book two of the La Asesina Bonita Duet Warning: this book will contain triggers and is intended for a mature audience 18+
An exciting page-turner! If you love some (a lot) of violence and blood with your dark romance, this is it. Dark, dirty, and sinfully sexy.
This was a perfect ending to Rosalina and Tony story even with all that bloodshed and being in the family business they found that love and happiness in the world they live in.Like I said in my previous review I never thought I would love a story with the female being the strong link as much as the male but Mrs. Brown definitely did an amazing work with Rosalina story and the sneek peek at the end made me more excited to see what’s coming next.I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it.
This is book 2 of the duet and boy did it not disappoint. The story moves very quickly. I was able to read both book one and two in a single day. I could not put them down. I love how Tony and Rosie’s relationship grows in the face of challenges from outside mob interference and in light of the council’s edict. Great ending to the story. Would love more with these characters.
Well Holy Hells! To start with this is Book 2, read Pretty Killer first. This starts right where book 1 ended. Rosie and Tony are really a match made in hell. And I mean that in the best of ways. And that death, dude!!!! Dude totally deserved it and it was awesome! I love the playlist that accompanies this book! I love when a author sets the mood with music! This is only the 2nd book by this author and I can not wait to see what she does next.
Michelle Brown’s “The Reaper” was a brilliant continuation to “Pretty Killer” and I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters were well-developed, the story well-defined and I loved how both Rosalina and Anthony got a kick out of each other’s jobs. It’s like a slightly (er, maybe more) blood thirsty version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith or possibly Keeping up with the Joneses but way more fun.
So “The Reaper” Starts where Pretty Killer Leaves off and this was by far my favourite out of the two short novellas.
The action here was ramped right up from the get-go with never a dull moment and we get to spend some more quality time with Rosalina and Tony.
So this time around we concentrate more on the reapers story.
With Rosie discovering there’s much more than she originally realised to her new lover.
Tony is also a great match for Rosie’s sadistic nature ultimately making these too one great power couple.
I also really enjoyed the overall dynamic between these two.
I loved there back and forth banter, it was really refreshing.
There was also one scene in particular here where Tony definitely let his inner Reaper lose and I loved it so much.
It was a fitting and just punishment, Karmas really is a bitch.
Overall I found this to be an enjoyable short read, my only issue here was the overall length.
I would have prefered it to have been longer.
It’s hard to sometimes convey the emotion and intent behind the words when the story is told to quickly.
However, ultimately this was an interesting read that I enjoyed.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “The Reaper” (La Asesina Bonita, #2) of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own
Ah Rosie, seriously I want to be this fierce temptress! She’s RUNS this business, she IS the business, and she makes it known with subtle bloody undertones. Will she get her happy ever after? Read this vengeful mafia tale to find out…oh and the next to come? Can’t. Freaking. Wait.
The second book by Michelle Brown continues to show her level of excellence. The first book was really good and this one was even better.
I love the way the author does character development. Having a strong female lead is especially important and a man who knows how to stand by a woman’s side? Perfect. The character development builds through both books. While it may seem slow to some, I think the author took immense care in the development and treated her characters with respect. It truly shows how much it takes for Rosie to find herself as the boss and as a woman. I especially love that Michelle Brown will be continuing in the world she creates with the sneak peek she gave for her next book. I want to know everything there is to know about the world she created which is a true testament of great writing.
I loved seeing such a merciless couple in such a delicious way. I absolutely could not put it down. I even carried my kindle around as I made breakfast so I didn’t have to stop reading!
They are both freaking BEASTS!!! And it makes their attraction stronger. This author takes two folks who have had a vicious and cruel life and brings them together. He doesn’t think she could ever care for the man he really is so he has withheld it til she needs him. She couldn’t believe that she could actually care for someone who was forced on her but dang it if he doesn’t cause her pulse to fire. This author takes these two and makes them right. The right they are together as one and they become unstoppable. I love the patience, respect, love and tenderness he shows her, never stepping on her toes but there to support when she needs him. These two BEASTS are perfect for each other. Awesome read.
there is just something sexy about two people who are so sweetly in love with each other, but can turn around and bathe in other people’s blood! Tony and Rosie are absolutely perfect for each other! I started falling in love withTony, the Reaper, in the first book, but I wasn’t 100% sure about him and his intentions…but I am now thoroughly loyal to him now lol. I recommend this series to anyone. and I can’t wait to read more from Michelle Brown!
The Reaper is the second installment on the Pretty Killer duet. We continue where Pretty Killer left off, Tony and Rosalina are planning to surprise the Russians. This book lets us see the side of Tony that we didn’t know, the Reaper. He came to live on this pages and we got to see him in action.
Rosalina and Tony are a match made in Hell. They are both amazing together and this book proves that. Together they will have an empire.
Michelle did an amazing job at this two characters, they are hot, twisted, killers with a heart that burns for each other.
Great conclusion to this duet. Can’t wait to see what Michelle Brown comes up with next.
4.5 starts
** I read an Advance readers copy of this book and this is my honest opinion ***
Oh, what a great continuation to the first book. I love the dual POV in this one. The characters are explained a little more in depth and it wonderful watching the love grow between these two. There’s really no fluff in this story, it isn’t needed at all. This one picks up right where Pretty Killer left off, so you have to read it first.
Two assassins having a happily ever after and getting rid of the obstacles in their way. Darker version of Mr and Mrs smith. Things seemed to happen quickly, one after another, not letting any anticipation or climax build but I liked the plot the author came up with.
That ending though! Im surprised and happy to hear the promiscuous cousin is having her own story in this.
What a sequel! Michelle has really outdone herself with this one. The Reaper is bloodthirsty, sinister as fuck and has so much blood on his hands they’ll never come clean. A perfect match for Rosalina with a dark side that keeps pace with hers.
A slow build up to the crescendo when the action and fun stuff really gets going. There were some intense powerful scenes in this that really brought out the characters, a few that left me breathless, aand some that chilled me to the bone
I loved how Rosalina’s character grew into her role as this story progressed until she is a confident, darkly elegant yet brutal boss. Anthony, a with mysterious past now come to light, well he is one crazy bastard when he gets going, not a guy to piss off, nope! His scenes gradually get darker and darker, one in particular left me wide-eyed in absolute shock at how vicious can be when the occasion calls for brutality and violence.
I’m loving watching this author come into her own and finding her words and stories, seeing the development from book to book.
Highly anticipating Diamond Bitch, where hopefully I will get answers to a few of the mysteries that this one had to offer.
Another short but sinfully awesome read. This books picks up right where Pretty killer finished. My only complaint is that it is too short. I want more of Rosie and Tony!
HOLYYYYYYY MOTHERRRRRRRR OF GODDDDDD!!! What a completion to La Asesina Bonita!! Is a must read!!!!! Like come on…. why think about it, if you haven`t read book one, go now and read the book before reading this epic bloodshed story. So The Reaper picks up where book one left off, and now Rosalina is engaged and these two power couple is off the chart. They on a mission to save Rosalina cousin and everyone who is gets in the way are not going to be saved because between the Asesina Queen and the Repear they are a focre to be reckoned with!! I love this series and im so happy I was introudced about this author. I cant wait for the book to read!!!
The Reaper, is the conclusion from book one, Pretty Killer. Anthony and Rosalina have to work together to find and save Amalia, deal with the council and other obstacles.
The author keeps up with the action and the blood lust from the previous book. Which in turn, just shows how perfect Tony and Rosie are together.
I like, no, I love Tony! Especially because he sees Rosie as an equal.
Anthony and Rosalina are perfect together! Violent, bloody, and sexy the conclusion to Michelle’s debut was just as good as book one. The Reaper and Pretty Killer belong together, in the book and soon to be on my bookshelf because I need physical copies of these!!!!
Heart pounding excitement, sinfully sexy, and held me captive from page one!! I devoured this duet and loved being able to read as it was created!! An absolute must read Mafia Romance with characters created as if I handed over a wish list to the Author!! I thank the Author profusely for allowing me to be a part of this duet and can’t wait for more from her!!
