INTERESTING TAKE ON HOW THINGS MIGHT BE 100 YEARS FROM NOW. YOU CAN’T HELP BUT ROOT FOR ROCK, AFTER ALL HE’S BEEN THROUGH. CAN’T WAIT TO READ THE NEXT CHAPTER IN HIS LIFE!
The Jack Reacher Experiment is a good series to read while between releases of tried-and-true authors (or the discovery of a new favorite). That said, the series is genre- and universe-fan targeted without the quality of the original. The characters are interesting, and the scenes are a good attempt at mimicking the Lee Child style. While the prose is definitely at a professional novelist level, it’s not the high caliber fans of Child have come to associate with the Reacher series. Some plot holes are distracting, like the stories taking place decades in the future with the technology descriptions sounding contemporary for the first few “books” (more like novellas), or small town locals trying to pick a fights semi-randomly with someone as intimidating as a Jack Reacher clone.
Not as good as I thought it was going to be
It has really nothing to do with Jack Reacher other than his DNA was used. Takes place far in the future from Reacher’s time. It’s interesting to get the author’s take on how he sees the future playing out with technology, etc.
People looking for Reacher? It was typical Reacher material and had little action.
Ok read.Should have explained more about the time it was happening in.
It is a good read but doesn’t come close to the original Reacher books.
Not worth the money
not a Jack Reacher book
poor imitation–Reacher fans avois
Fair I will not read any follow up books.
If you like Lee Child Reacher books, this doesn’t disappoint.
Just wasn’t for me.
This book was way too wordy. It got extremely annoying and i was unable to even finish it which is disappointing because it could have been an awesome series. I am a big fan of Jack Reacher.
choppy
Story line was ok but the character didn’t fit.
Too much killing. Not like reacher. Very predictable.
Interesting premise.
By #7 it had gotten old. Suspension of disbelief became very hard to believe it was 2090+ after a while because technology had regressed to Y2K.
Lee Child should be worried because this could easily have been the next Reacher novel.
It captured some of the Reacher books but there were inconsistencies between the year and the weapons / cars.
