Praise for Jude Hardin’s Thrillers:
POCKET-47 sucked me in and held me enthralled. Author Jude Hardin keeps the pace frantic, the thrills non-stop, but best of all is his hero, the wonderfully ironic Nicholas Colt. This is a character I’m eager to follow through many adventures to come.
—Tess Gerritsen, New York Times bestselling author of DIE AGAIN: A RIZZOLI & ISLES NOVEL
The best PI debut I’ve read in years, fit to share shelf space with the best of Ross Macdonald, Sue Grafton, and Robert B. Parker. POCKET-47 is so hot you may burn your hands reading. Highly recommended.
—J.A. Konrath, author of the Jack Daniels mysteries
Hardin gets everything right in his powerhouse thriller debut, which introduces rock star–turned–PI Nicholas Colt.
—Publishers Weekly on POCKET-47
KEY DEATH is an exhilarating thriller that punches way above its weight. It hits you hard and fast with crackling suspense, hair-raising twists and stunning revelations. Word of advice: don’t start on this one unless you’re prepared to stay up all night.
—John Ling, author of THE BLASPHEMER
Colt is a physical, no-holds-barred PI, reminiscent of Robert B. Parker’s Spenser and Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, and his debut is action-packed. With a hefty toll of dead bodies, some described in cringe-inducing detail, this is crime fiction at its rawest. Hard-boiled connoisseurs should make Colt’s acquaintance now.
—Booklist on POCKET-47
With CROSSCUT, Jude Hardin takes the PI novel and psychological suspense to a new, unrestrained level. Fast, fierce, and relentless.
—David Morrell, New York Times bestselling creator of Rambomore
Interesting books but didn’t realize it continues on just leaving you hanging. Forces you to buy more books to conclude the story.
For fiction it wasn’t projected well. For it to be in the mid 2000’s technology was basically what it is today 🙁
Of course if you are a Jack Reacher fan, this is a must read. Without the details, think of Reacher a hundred years from now. A shorter book, but the ending was a bit weak.
Easy read and pretty entertaining
I think we are over doing the Reacher-like characters. looking for mor eoriginals.
Nice twist on the Reacher sagas
Pretty good thriller. The Jack Reacher connection was not really needed for the story, more of a marketing gimmick. There were a few ludicrous details but generally a solid, enjoyable action novel.
If you’re a Jack Reacher tale fan, this projection of a Reacher legacy is pretty well redolent of his style, swagger and righteousness. The only thing about which I had to exercise a willing suspension of disbelief was the details of what life was like in the future setting…way too low tech, I surmise. So: entertaining and great fun for Reacher cultists.
A genetic duplicate of Jack Reacher brought to life in the future. An interesting concept. I look forward to reading more adventures.
Sort of Jack Reacher, but not quite. The stories are supposed to be set in the future, but the use of today’s technology, didn’t support it. Still, it was readable and fun.
Started out okay but even after all 3 they don’t really lead anywhere.
I I love the Reacher series and this did not disappoint
Enjoy the suspense
I somewhat enjoyed the book, but it is hardly 3 books not even sure I would call them short stories, more like 3 chapters. The idea behind the book was interesting, just not sure it delivered. Could have been so much more.
While the actual writing is fine, the plot is not that interesting and the setting is unrealistic (set in the future where the *only thing that differs from now is that there are more electric cars.) but if you are desperate for a Reacher -ish story (heavy on the ish) then it’s ok.
Nice to have the Reacher series continue in a way
Will read next in series.
So very much like the Reacher series… wonderful job of reincarnating the persona of the man. The way the author adopts Mr. Child’s narrative style is truly impressive.
Did not care for “no ending” endings. Reminded me of Saturday matinee serials when I was growing up before TV. Also no development of reason behind plot line that was always trying to do in Rock. The 3 parts made up one incomplete novel.
I wasn’t expecting the time frame to be in the future. That was a nice twist. The three books were very fast reads.
