Praise for Jude Hardin’s Thrillers:
POCKET-47 sucked me in and held me enthralled. Author Jude Hardin keeps the pace frantic, the thrills non-stop, but best of all is his hero, the wonderfully ironic Nicholas Colt. This is a character I’m eager to follow through many adventures to come.
—Tess Gerritsen, New York Times bestselling author of DIE AGAIN: A RIZZOLI & ISLES NOVEL
The best PI debut I’ve read in years, fit to share shelf space with the best of Ross Macdonald, Sue Grafton, and Robert B. Parker. POCKET-47 is so hot you may burn your hands reading. Highly recommended.
—J.A. Konrath, author of the Jack Daniels mysteries
Hardin gets everything right in his powerhouse thriller debut, which introduces rock star–turned–PI Nicholas Colt.
—Publishers Weekly on POCKET-47
KEY DEATH is an exhilarating thriller that punches way above its weight. It hits you hard and fast with crackling suspense, hair-raising twists and stunning revelations. Word of advice: don’t start on this one unless you’re prepared to stay up all night.
—John Ling, author of THE BLASPHEMER
Colt is a physical, no-holds-barred PI, reminiscent of Robert B. Parker’s Spenser and Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, and his debut is action-packed. With a hefty toll of dead bodies, some described in cringe-inducing detail, this is crime fiction at its rawest. Hard-boiled connoisseurs should make Colt’s acquaintance now.
—Booklist on POCKET-47
With CROSSCUT, Jude Hardin takes the PI novel and psychological suspense to a new, unrestrained level. Fast, fierce, and relentless.
—David Morrell, New York Times bestselling creator of Rambomore
Great book it you are a Jack Reacher fan.
Disappointing
Just an average read. Too repetitious from the original stories. Would have liked them to have been more original.
The entire basis is a bit far fetched.
The only connection to the Jack Reacher series is the name.
Disapointing.
I just could not get into it. I am a great fan of Jack reacher and although I know that this was not him, I just could not do it.
Slow reading poor use of reaches name
I am a true fan of Lee Child and his Jack Reacher character. I am a sucker for any Jack Reacher take offs. This one had a corn premise but it never got better. I am thrilled he loves (the author) Jack Reacher but this was a “reach”.
Just some filler while I wait for the next Jack Reacher to come out.
Sci-Fi meets Lee Child.
Not as good as the original Reachers, but a reasonable imitation.
Short books, hanging endings as another day in the life…….
Truly in the spirit of Jack’s character. If you like Jack this is definitely one you must read.
Enjoy, if you don’t your not the a action, thought provoking type.
Poorly written effort to market the Reacher character except the author has no understanding of the original stories appeal. This author has insufficient ability to even keep a coherent narrative.
Each book is fairly short. I kept thinking they would get better but they didn’t. I have read worse and I have definitely read better books
Lots of clever twists.
I liked the book until I got to the end. The book suddenly stopped dead without resolving the issues the author set up/
Clever book series based on the Jack Reacher model. Author is an excellent writer.
The series is enjoyable and entertaining. I highly recommend it particularly to Jack Reacher fans.
The series is a takeoff from Lee Child’s books “Reacher” Series only it involves a CLONE of the original Lee Child series. These 3 books amounted to three small books that could have ) been just one book. Story line is good, characters are also good. I enjoyed the series!
Not up to the readability of Jack Reacher but ok for quick entertainment
Interesting extension of the original
It was a good read and adventurous but the ending left you hanging. Would not recommend
Rock Wahlman , six feet tall, 240lbs was walking down the shoulder of a highway towards New Orleans when a huge semi truck and trailer was bearing down on him. He rove and rolled down the hill off the shoulder while the truck continued along the shoulder, to a bridge that crossed a canal where the trailer flipped and broke loose from the tractor which went through the concrete railing into the canal. This is the start of a story that has the feel and intensity of a Jack Reacher novel. It’s very well written with a great plot, with assassins, murders, Reacher type fights, a love interest, and a dead truck driver that looks exactly like Rock Wahman and has identical DNA. It’s fast moving and almost impossible to put down. For me it’s definitely a five star and I’ll surely be reading more of Hardin’s books.
