Finn Henry is a widower workaholic rancher who is raising a young daughter, Wendy, on his own.
Cassie is Wendy’s kindergarten teacher who notices that Wendy is developed above grade and should be moved to higher level. She suggests to Finn, during a parent-teacher interview but Finn is not sure how to deal with this.
Cassie volunteers to be her Nanny for the summer and get her ready for this new adventure.
What she didn’t know that her life will turn to new adventure, too
Their relationship started a little shaky as Finn seems very overbearing and controlling, and she is there only for summer.
Are they both wrong?

I liked that Callie was Wendy’s teacher and was very invested in helping her get everything she needed. Finn was trying to carry everything on his shoulders and dreamed of something different. I am glad that in the end they both found what they didn’t know they needed and it was where they were all along.

4.5 stars Finn, widower and father of five year old Wendy, has too much on his plate to devote enough time to her. Her teacher Callie calls him in for a conference to explain that Wendy is smart and bored with school and tell him about a school that will challenge. Callie has an opportunity to teach in New York at the end of summer. Finn wants to go back on the rodeo circuit. Callie manages to get herself roped in to being Wendy’s nanny for the summer. The more time they spend together the more complicated is their relationship. Is she going to teach in New York and is he going to ride broncos? Nicely written and a nice enjoyable read.

This is a book that follows the premise “Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.” Both Finn and Callie were making plans for their independent futures but had to get through the summer first. The story follows their relationship as employer/employee with little drama. Their relationship evolves romantically but there is only a mild heat rating. My favourite character was Wendy, the daughter. Only an ok read for me.

Callie is a kindergarten teacher who loves her students. That’s why she has called a meeting with Wendy’s father Finn. When he walks in her classroom she is instantly attracted to him, but knows he would never go for someone like her! Finn has got a lot on his plate between raising his daughter and running a ranch he doesn’t have much time for anything else, including a teacher meeting! That is until he sees Callie his daughter’s teacher! She’s beautiful and way out of his league! What happens when she accepts a job as Wendy’s nanny for the summer? Can they keep it professional? This is a great book that you will definitely enjoy!

The Rancher’s Unexpected Nanny by Mary Sue Jackson. This is Finn and Callie’s story. Finn’s wife passed away and he hs been raising his daughter Wendy. Callie is her teacher who has told Finn he has a very smart child who should be at another school for the gifted. When Callie suggest he get a nanny, he takes her up on the offer. From that moment on the attraction started to ignite. Finn didn’t want to continue ranching he wanted to pursue his dream of going back to the rodeo. This book is heartfelt, true to life and shows the decisions you have to make and the choice between what you want or what you need. This was a good read and I love the ending. I’ll have to read this book again.

The Rancher’s Unexpected Nanny by Mary Sue Jackson is a sweet romance without many surprises. It is an easy read and enjoyable, although not challenging. The characters are pleasant enough, although not compelling and the plot is not complex with little in the way of subplots. After a teacher’s conference in which he is told his daughter, Wendy, is exceptionally bright and needs more challenging work, Finn finds himself hiring that same teacher as a nanny. It will work out well with more time for him to train for his return to the rodeo and time for Wendy to prepare for the private school she will attend in the fall.
The Rancher’s Unexpected Nanny is a fun read with few surprises along the way. As most romances, it is pretty predictable. Not in a bad way. It is a character-driven novel and the characters are good, if not very deep. Finn is a young widower with plans for his life that didn’t necessarily include the ranch he has been working for his in-laws. Callie is a good teacher with big plans for herself. She wants to get out of rural Texas and give the big city a try. She has a job for the fall in New York and she can’t wait. She is an interesting conundrum-really the quintessential teacher. Finn’s mother-in-law is an entertaining character who loves Wendy and Finn both, and wants what’s best of them. You have to love her. This book is worth a read if the reader is looking for a positive, easy read. I recommend it.

This was a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I couldn’t put it down. There was no cliff hangers and finished with my favourite HEA. I enjoyed reading about Finn and Callie and seeing them develop together.

Callie has a life ahead of her that she chose, desires and has planned for, but a little girl and a hot rancher has her questioning her decisions. For Finn he didn’t chose his life and wants to live his dream but he needs Callie to do it. Life has many detours but it’s how we roll with the turns and not fight. The story was good, I got a bit distracted about half way through but picked up again, I gave 4 stars cause I could have put the book down and not finished during the lag, just didn’t keep me hanging on every word. My honest thoughts, I know not all agree with them, but hopefully respect them.

Callie is a teacher that is very dedicated to her students. She calls one students father in to talk about Wendy going to a school that will be better suited for her because she is more advanced than the other students. However talking to Finn about it causes a stir because he is a single father struggling to do it on his own. So when she suggests that they try a summer program to see how Wendy does Finn misunderstands and thinks that Callie is offering to work as his nanny and help out with Wendy. When she realizes he misunderstood and that because of it that it helps her in a way she agrees to help him. What neither counted on was the attraction between them to be so intense. Its not long before they give in. But when Callie has to leave for her job in New York earlier than expected Finn asks if she’ll tale Wendy with her because he got on the rodeo circuit. Will Finn see that Callie and him are the perfect fit? Can they make it work?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Here we have a story that is quite a good one acutally. There is something amiss though and even though I can´t really point a direct finger at what I can´t give more than three stars to this story. While reading it I felt it quite drawn out. Like when talking about the leading ladies childhood as happened on occasion and her illnesses – that was that and no further explanations – it seemed strange and somehow felt irrelevant as there was no real connection to today – how did she overcome this all? how did she get better? any explanations? And there we have the leading man, actually I thought not just once, what a douche he is, but then, they are certainly a dime a dozen in the real world…. But somehow not all the story connected with me and some parts felt more drawn out than neccessary. It is, however, quite well written and there were no noticable typos or any of that sort so that was really well done and probably therefore that I am giving this one three stars.

A really great book. I absolutely loved the story and the characters. Callie and Finn took awhile to figure it all out but the story left me with a smile.
Finn was a rodeo star who gave it all up to return home to care for his wife and ranch. He is now a widower with a young daughter. He is dedicated to the ranch work and often tends to leave Wendy with his in-laws while he works. He still has dreams of returning to the rodeo. Callie is a kindergarten at a private school, a dream job. She becomes fond of Wendy, a student and daughter of Caleb. She has a meeting with Caleb to recommend that he consider sending Wendy to another school that would challenge her academically. She agrees to be Wendy’s nanny during the summer to get her ready for the new school. She and Caleb are physically attracted to each other. Can Callie reunite father and daughter? Will she and Caleb develop a meaningful relationship? I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to everyone.

A good quick and easy beach read. He’s a widower with a young daughter. His dream is to join the rodeo circuit. She’s a teacher with dreams of moving to the big city to teach. He needs a nanny to help with his daughter for the summer so he can train for the rodeo circuit. She needs a place to stay for the summer until her job as a teacher at a prestigious school in New York starts. After spending time together with his young daughter they come to realize what their real hopes and dreams for the future are.
This was a great read. The emotional rollercoaster they went through was unbelievable. The many lessons learned and captivating storyline. The characters were remarkable and the bond they shared was strong. The ending was so sweet and heartwarming.

Callie is a great teacher, who enjoys her students greatly. But the next adventure has just begun. Callie teaches Finn’s daughter, Wendy, and Wendy is a very bright little girl. Callie wants what is best for Wendy and part of that is getting Wendy ready for a private school. To do that she becomes a nanny for Wendy. During her time at the Henry household Callie and Finn can only keep things professional for so long before they both fall off that wagon. Then they both have their dreams come true, but not together, only to realise that the only dream they need is being together.
This book certainly made me smile. I am glad I had the privileged to read it.
