I loved this book, even more than the first book in the series. It was wonderful to get to know Ethan, and to follow him as he deals with heartache and happiness in equal measures. I won’t say too much as I don’t want to give the story away. This book takes us on a journey to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Adam and Justin, that was mentioned in the first book. There’s some suspense, and mystery, and of course love. But the love isn’t easy as there’s twelve years of separation and the unknown to deal with, but this was handled beautifully. Highly recommended.
This story really kept me excited to read more, I couldn’t put it down. There is so
much happening on The Crooked Tree Ranch, and what a cliffhanger!

We learn about Ethan on book one in this series but did not meet him at all. So he was basically a mystery before reading this book. And I am SO glad I read this book! It was heartbreaking and beautiful but also mysterious and kept me guessing and wanting more.
Both Ethan and Adam grow so much throughout this story. The journey that Adam and Ethan go on, especially Adam, was hard to read at times but so worth it. I wanted to bad for Adam to get all of his memories back. I was invested in their story. It was nice to see Ethan and Adam go back to Crooked Tree Ranch and how it affected both of them.
So many questions were answered by the end of this book but also so many new questions appeared. This is a great series so far and I am eager to get the next story!

The mystery ramps up in this one as Ethan brings one lost boy home – a lost boy with no memory of who he is or where he’s been. We do get some answers, but many create more questions. As Ethan and those he trusts scramble for answers, the tension builds. In the end, the bulk of the mystery remains just that, a mystery, and I’m still on the fence about the few answers we’re given. It’s a little too far over the top for me, but it’s certainly something to think about. The thing that sets this series apart for me lays with the characters. Their personalities, their reactions, their emotions – they all feel so real, and we see all of that with Adam and Ethan as they rekindle an old flame. This pair is just so sweet together that you can’t help but root for them. Even with the mystery, this is very much Ethan and Adam’s love story. It’s a bit of slow build and they’re both absolutely lovable. In the end, the romance left me with a smile, and the mystery has me intrigued about what’s to come.
This was a book that in some aspects was hopeful and heart warming while at the same time was heart wrenching and devastating. It had me feeling the warm and fuzzies as well as had me wiping tears from my cheeks. Ethan and Adam have to go through turmoil before they can get their HEA – but that just leads the reader with more questions than answers – I need the next book ASAP.
