Trevor McCall doesn’t want to be a rancher, or settle down and become a family man. Now, however, he’s forced to not only take over his late parents’ ranch, but also unexpectedly raise his cousin’s four-year-old daughter, Jade. Sure, he can run the place for the year-long stipulation specified in his parents’ will, but take care of a kid? No way. Nothing in his life has prepared him to be the … to be the father of a four-year-old girl. Complicating matters, Lacey Cameron, his sweet and pretty housekeeper, is leaving to open up her own B&B. Lacey has always lived at the McCall ranch—she can’t leave now when he needs her most. Desperate, Trevor makes a deal with her: Stay and help him with little Jade and in return he’ll help her fix up the B&B. Lacey agrees, and as the two of them work together, Trevor quickly realizes the girl he’s known all his life has grown into a beautiful woman, one who, to his shock, manages to find a crack in his hardened heart.
Lacey’s spent her entire life at the McCall ranch. Generations of Camerons have worked there, but she’s finally breaking free. For years she’s been saving for a B&B, and nothing’s going to stop her from finally realizing her dream and leaving the McCalls. Not that she doesn’t love them all. It’s that she loves one McCall a bit too much, even though she’d die before letting Trevor know how she feels. With this particular cowboy, love was never in the picture. But after the contractor for her B&B scams her, she can’t refuse Trevor’s offer to help. She can ignore the painful wrenching in her heart every time she hears his voice if it will get her business up and running. Then the completely unexpected happens: She realizes Trevor is just as attracted to her as she is to him.
But Trevor plans to leave as soon as his obligation to honor his parents’ last wishes is over. Even so, Lacey gives in to their attraction, knowing she’s just setting herself up for heartache. After all, better to have a broken heart than a lonely one…right?

Trevor and Lacey are drawn to each other, even as they tell themselves that they can’t be together. The book is easy to read, very enjoyable, and a terrific start to this new series.

Wow. There’s so much emotion in this story. And just about all of it is the kind that tugs on the heartstrings and made me want to cry. Trevor tried to break my heart so many times in this book. The feelings he harbors for his parents and his family are so strong and conflicting. I liked Lacey’s spirit. She’s exactly what Trevor needs, in that she stands up to him and makes him be his best self. Jade’s just about the cutest thing ever. She comes across as being a little too grown-up for a four-year-old, but that’s not completely unexpected. I loved the sense of family in this book; both the one you’re born into and the family you choose to make out of the people important to you.

The author has given us characters that we can connect with. Trevor has grown up thinking that since he was adopted he is not worth any value. It will take an inheritance, an abandoned child and the love of a good woman to get him to realize what he is really worth.

Book One Gets the Series off to a Good Start.
Wonderful storyline set in modern day Montana. Trevor, the eldest of the three McCall brothers are home for the reading of the family will. And from those pages what surprises show up and make for some great reading.
The storyline was well-written and as a result pulls at your heartstrings and tear ducts a time or two. The story reads fast and I had a hard time putting it aside when sleep came around.
The characters were skillfully written. Trevor, the eldest had his own construction company. Still on the ranch as caretaker was Lacey. She practically knew the boys her whole life and use to crush on Trevor. Jude was my favorite. She was written with the right amount of pouting and foot stomping only a child her age could perfect.
Bottom line: A pretty much perfect story for the more G-rated readers just have some tissues resting nearby, just in case.
I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and satisfaction. Peace.

Wow this book was different from what I expected. I could not understand the feeling that one was facing until the end, which tells you that it was a great book. When the book is predictable from the beginning it is not worth reading. This story is about Trevor, Lacey and Jade. Trevor and his brothers are all going to their family home where the will is being read to them. In the will they are all asked to spend a year there before they can inherit the place well Trevor is not very happy about this as he has his own life back home. Well the other thing is that he realizes that while in high school he stop smiling as he did not feel like he was truly part of this family. The black sheep is always set aside, but surprisingly he was not in the will. Well as the other two brothers had to readjust their lives, Trevor decides that he can stay there while the other two take the time they need to readjust their live back in their home.
Lacey and her family have always served Trevors family and Lacey was asked to help while they are able to find someone to take her place. Of course Lacey always had a crush on Trevor and even though they had an encounter on the road the day before, she knew he would not recognize her and would not look at her in that way. During a few days when she started to help Trevor out with a woman who she thought would be great for the help the men would need during the year, so she could focus on her B&B, Trevor received a surprise visit from his cousin Penny. This is where Jade comes in, she is a four year old that was left in Trevors care and Trevor made a deal with Lacey to help him out with Jade and he would help her fix her B&B.
This was a great read. It is heartwarming and surprisingly funny as the banter between the brothers themselves is like they were teens instead of grown men. Jade is a sweetheart in this all and she tugs on your heart when reading her words.

This a fairly quick read about a curmudgeon, Tevor who takes over the family ranch and is even more unexpectedly, a guardian to his four year old cousin, Jade and Lacey, his family’s householder helper. Tensions are high because each character is in a situation they don’t want to be in but, are none the less living together on Trevor’s ranch. Trevor and Lacey try to manage every demanding and daunting facet of their lives and they begrugingly realize that it’s better when they do everything together including Jade. The story shows the budding relationships between the characters and how sweet and tender it all is until, Trevor screws it up. I enjoyed this and recommend it.

This is the first book in the McCall brothers.series and is Trevor’s story. Trevor and his brother are back home after the death of their parents when they go to the will reading they find out that if they don’t want to lose the family ranch they must live on it for a year. Knowing his brother needs time to get sorted he offers to take over running the ranch and he needs Lacey’s help to do that. This was a great start to the series I cant wait for the next one.
Trevor inherits more than just part of his family’s ranch in part 1 of the McCall Ranch Brothers
Leslie is my number 1 author as I just love everything she writes! Here we meet Trevor McCall who volunteers to run his parents’ ranch per their will while his brothers get their affairs in order to join him for the next year. Lacey worked as the housekeeper on the McCall ranch as her mother and grandmother before her until the McCalls’ passing. Lacey is asked to stay on to train her replacement, until Trevor gets the additional responsibility of caring for his cousin’s daughter. Lacey’s plan to open a B&B is waylaid when she is swindled by man she hired. Trevor strikes a bargain with Lacey to help her with the work at the B&B if she helps with the housekeeping and caring of his cousin’s daughter. What happens when you work and play as a family? You have to read to find out and will enjoy the plot twists in this sweet romance!
This story is quite a good one. It has a good storyline, albeit a bit lacking, and the characters are really excellent. What I found missing a bit from the story was about the ranch, perhaps only trivial but non the less I felt information missing about the ranch. What kind was it? How could he just up and leave for two weeks? How could he spend so much time at the B&B and it not having an effect on the ranch? I know this is a story and as such there are really no definite rules to why and how and what in the story. But this one felt as it was supposed to be like in real life and as such I felt this info missing. Was there a foreman like at his construction company? Was it a cattle farm or vetable farm? …? Otherwise the story is really good but as I could not stop thinking about this I felt that I could not give this story the fabulous five stars but have to stick to the wonderful four. As always this is only my opinion about this and always better if you read and judge for yourself.

Trevor was on his way back to the ranch when he almost got into any accident the red Jeep swerved just in time. When he saw that it was a women in the Jeep and she knew who he was Mr.McCall. When he finally got to the ranch one brother had already shown up for the reading of his fathers will which could not be soon enough. Trevor never wanted to set foot back in that house. The brothers find out that all three must live at the ranch for a year otherwise it would be sold and they would lose their families legacy. The McCalls made a provision for Lacey’s to stay on the ranch for a year. Meanwhile Trevor’s cousin leaves her daughter at the ranch with Trever and pins a note to her. Lacey and Trevor struck up a deal he would help her with her BnB and she would stay in for awhile and help him with Jade. Meanwhile she sleeps with Trevor and realized it was a mistake. She had always had a crush on him but he did take her V card
and he made it feel like it was a mistake. Lacey leaves the ranch to work on her BNB and realized she had to cut her losses. Trevor finds out the truth about himself when his brothers find some paper in the attic
I love cowboy romances and Leslie North knows how to do them right. Trevor is the exception to the general rule that you take over your family’s ranch. He didn’t want it however but has to take over for at least a year based on his parent’s will. He gets another surprise when he is his niece’s guardian as well. It was fun seeing Trevor be against the ranch and family and fall in love with Lacey and the life he could have. They both have their own goals but what they didn’t expect, was fulfilling them with each other.

What an epic tale of heart-wrenching as well as heart-warming lives of three people. We have Trevor, the cowboy who seems to hate everything and everyone. Then Lacey, who dreams of owning her own business. Last but certainly not least is four year old Jade. You’ll feel every pulse, impulse, and all their growing pains as each finds their place in this great big world.

3 1/2*
Trevor & his brothers have returned to the ranch for the reading of their parents will.
Unfortunately the stipulations mean someone has to live on the ranch.
Trevor volunteered to help first but desperately needs Lacey’s help.
Lacey wasn’t planning to stay but throw in more complicated matters & she’s stuck.
Reading the book gives more in-depth into understanding Trevor more. I liked how Lacey saw the good in others but remembered her goals.

Nice story.
When Trevor and his brothers had to come back to the ranch to fulfill the requirements of their parents will, he had no idea what was in store for him. He made the decision to stay which gave his brother’s time to make their arrangements from their lives as all three have to live on the ranch for a year. In the meantime, he reconnected with Lacey and then became the guardian for his cousins daughter that she left on his doorstep.
As Lacey is creating a new life for herself in opening a B&B, she also runs into unexpected issues. With her contractor taking off and leaving her, she and Trevor make a plan to help each other. He will help finish the construction and she will help out with Jade, his cousins daughter. They grow closer not realizing that they each have feelings for each other. Trevor makes a blunder to keep them all together and makes up in the end.

A collection of tropes that fit together to make an enjoyable romance.
We’ve got three brothers required by their parents’ will to stay on the ranch for a year, a girl from their high school years who is instrumental in the story, an abandoned toddler, a marriage of convenience proposal, and a bit of a damsel-in-distress situation, but the author brings all these threads together to build a strong romance between Trevor and Lacey.
Trevor has some hidden issues he has to deal with, while Lacey is struggling to stand on her own independent feet. The writing seems a bit rushed and simplistic at times and the plot points announce themselves well ahead of their executions. Still, it was fun to watch these characters fall in love and I’m looking forward to reading the stories about the other two brothers. This was an easy, one-hour read for me. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
The Ranchers Inherited Family introduces us to the McCall brothers. Trevor McCall and his brothers Randy and Carson are home for the reading of the will after their parents’ death. In the will it is stated that all three brothers must live on the ranch for a year or it will be auctioned off. None of them resides in Winding Creek anymore so they will have to make arrangements to meet the demands of the will. Trevor who has a construction company is the first to agree to the move. Lacey Cameron’s family has been working at the ranch for years and after the McCalls death Lacey is left some money. She buys a bed and breakfast in town and can’t wait to run it! She agrees to help Trevor find a replacement until then she is working at the ranch. Finding a replacement is not easy and to add to Trevors problems his cousin Penny has left her daughter Jade at the ranch and has taken off leaving Trevor guardian. Things really start to get interesting when Laceys contractor takes off with the money she paid him for repairs, Trevor and Jade are not bonding, a replacement for Lacey can’t be found. It’s great to watch the three of them work together! There are a lot of twists and turns in this book it will knock your socks off!
A sweet very emotional story of a family scattered widely who come together due to a clause in their father’s will. Lots of drama and tension as the reality of now and the truth of the past come to light. Throw in a beautiful woman, a needy abandoned child and you have the makings of a fantastic story. I went on to read the stories of the two other brothers, very interesting series.

ONE EMOTIONAL WHIRLWIND!!!
Exceptional! Leslie boasts one spectacular spin that’s so touching and heartwarming with passion, finesse and style that blows this baby wide open. A churning vortex of daunting events, blasts this baby into a tailspin with shocking results. Traversing the trials and tribulations, sharp twists, sleek turns and thin lines, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Yielding incredible, well rounded scenario’s, that punch dead center with such exuberance and grace, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing an undeniable bond and amplifying affections, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Leslie, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
I like Trevor, he is way out of his comfort zone but actually does a great job getting it together,…. eventually. The brothers have a great bond and I think that support helps him through his heartfelt emotional issues. Lacey is great, very independent, sacrificial yet not desperate, thank goodness for her having some backbone. 🙂 I felt sorry for Jade but I think her mother made the right decision and Jade becomes their common ground forcing them to rethink and really see what’s more important instead of just going through the motions. Love this new series so far and can’t wait to read the next one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
