Trevor McCall doesn’t want to be a rancher, or settle down and become a family man. Now, however, he’s forced to not only take over his late parents’ ranch, but also unexpectedly raise his cousin’s four-year-old daughter, Jade. Sure, he can run the place for the year-long stipulation specified in his parents’ will, but take care of a kid? No way. Nothing in his life has prepared him to be the … to be the father of a four-year-old girl. Complicating matters, Lacey Cameron, his sweet and pretty housekeeper, is leaving to open up her own B&B. Lacey has always lived at the McCall ranch—she can’t leave now when he needs her most. Desperate, Trevor makes a deal with her: Stay and help him with little Jade and in return he’ll help her fix up the B&B. Lacey agrees, and as the two of them work together, Trevor quickly realizes the girl he’s known all his life has grown into a beautiful woman, one who, to his shock, manages to find a crack in his hardened heart.
Lacey’s spent her entire life at the McCall ranch. Generations of Camerons have worked there, but she’s finally breaking free. For years she’s been saving for a B&B, and nothing’s going to stop her from finally realizing her dream and leaving the McCalls. Not that she doesn’t love them all. It’s that she loves one McCall a bit too much, even though she’d die before letting Trevor know how she feels. With this particular cowboy, love was never in the picture. But after the contractor for her B&B scams her, she can’t refuse Trevor’s offer to help. She can ignore the painful wrenching in her heart every time she hears his voice if it will get her business up and running. Then the completely unexpected happens: She realizes Trevor is just as attracted to her as she is to him.
But Trevor plans to leave as soon as his obligation to honor his parents’ last wishes is over. Even so, Lacey gives in to their attraction, knowing she’s just setting herself up for heartache. After all, better to have a broken heart than a lonely one…right?

Sweetly thrilling, hometown romance filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heartwarming twists and a heartwarming relationship turn neither expected but is exactly what they needed…… was a great read. Really enjoyed this exciting and emotional journey!
Awwwww…
That was a beautiful HEA.
I wont lie, Trevor was a butt in the beginning.
With his actions and his intelligence. But Lacey and Jade whipped him into shape and it did him a world of good.
Love explodes in this book. The character couldnt keep the tears at bay and neither could I.
I would recommend.
Happy reading!

This is the first book in the McCall Ranch Brothers, it can be read as a standalone story, no cliffhangers with a delightful HEA. This book is heartfelt and emotional, the storyline is fast-paced and the characters are incredibly likable and relatable. Lacey’s family has worked for Trevor’s family for decades and Lacey haf crushed on the older McCall brother for years, now he’s back home after his parents died and soon his cousin leaves her little girl in his care. Can Lacey and sweet little Jade break through the walls that surround his heart.
Really a wonderful start to a new series, great storyline, wonderful characters.

They both don’t want to be there.
On the ranch that is.
Trevor doesn’t want to live on the ranch for the prerequisite year. Much less raise a little girl he’s inherited.
Lacey is trying to leave the ranch and open her own B&B, to be her own.
They strike a deal. But with both of them with one foot out the door, still, they get steamy.

Trevor finally finds what he was missing.
From the almost accident between a truck and a jeep to having to make a sandwich the encounters between Lacey and Trevor have not been so great. Then the twists start and this story is off and running full steam ahead it was great! The roller coaster that Lacey and Trevor rode was so entertaining and I loved the Jade character. I cannot wait to find out what happens to Carson and Randy. This is going to be a great series! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Start of something good…
With this story Ms. North has given us the start of something good…a new series. Trevor and Lacey were both likable characters that you couldn’t help but root for. Can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Family is family! Trevor McCall, along with his brothers Carson and Randy, inherited their parent’s ranch and assets after their deaths. The will required the borthers to live on the ranch for a year. All had lives elsewhere and had to scramble, adjust and reschedule their lives to comply. Trevor, the eldest, had an easier life to shuffle, so he moved in first. His cousin, Penny abandoned her daughter, Jade, 4 for Trevor to care for is just an unexpected complication. Lacey Cameron, was third generation cook/housekeeper on the McCall ranch. But, she had plans to open a B&B and did not plan to stay longer than to help set up. Trevor discovered a secret when he was 16 that changed his sense of self, his sense of family and his sense of place that formed who he was as a man, a worker and a family member. Do the brothers stay the year, so they can inherit? Does Lacey get her B&B? How does she get out of housekeeping for the McCall brothers? Does Trevor cousin-up and love on Jade? Nice story. I would have liked to hear more of the B&B and Carson and Randy. They sound like fun. Good story! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Trevor and his brothers inherit a ranch from their parents but at least one of the must stay on the ranch for a year or they forfeit the property. Trevor has plans to continue to run his construction company and doesn’t want to take the time with the ranch. Besides, he learned when he was in his teens that he was adopted and feels he does not deserve the ranch. Lacey is the daughter and granddaughter of the housekeepers and has taken over since they have moved to Florida. She wants to start a bed and breakfast. She has even secured the property and is setting up for repairs and remodels needed to the property. But Trevor’s brothers can’t get away from their work right now, Lacey’s contractor takes her money and runs off, and Trevor’s cousin stops at the house long enough to drop off her four year old daughter before she leaves. Trevor has to decide how to run the ranch, care for the child he doesn’t really want and who won’t speak to him, and get through the months his brothers are going to be gone. He makes a deal with Lacey to help with the bed and breakfast if she will help with his niece, Jade.
How are Trevor and Lacey going to work out all their differences? Trevor doesn’t want children and has sworn off marriage. Lacey has to get out of the house with Trevor before her feelings for him break her. A quick read with lots of heart.

A nice book about how the lack of info can make a person feel miserable and how love can change that and make that person feel the luckiest one in the world.
I really enjoyed this read. With a story line that is emotional and realistic, I found it easy to become ensnared in this book. I could feel for Trevor and I think many other readers will too. Life so often gets in the way of our wants and plans and we so often think that is a curse and if we are honest, it is sometimes. But it is also true that sometimes it leads us to a new path we never would have taken before and it can force us to open our eyes. I thought Lacey was also a great character and was easy to connect with. Together I felt that they made a terrific pair that brings you lots of feels as their story unfolds.
Book 1 of 3- you should not miss any of the McCall Brothers Series. The books are stand-alone but the series reads better in order. Book 1 sets the stage and tone of the series.
Leslie North’s The Rancher’s Inherited Family. #1
The three McCall brothers, Trevor, Carson, and Randy have inherited their parents’ estate. There is a catch, the men have to live there for a year. Trevor, the oldest, elects to be the one to stay first, while his brothers make arrangements to move back to the family home. Trevor places his business into his foreman’s hands and moves into the home place.
Lacey Cameron receives a monetary inheritance from the McCall’s estate. She promptly sinks it, and even more money, into fixing up a bed and breakfast. Her contractor bails, leaving her in the lurch while taking most of her funds with him.
Meanwhile, Trevor’s irresponsible cousin, Penny, takes off and drops her 4-year-old daughter, Jade, at the ranch. Penny leaves a note pinned to the child’s coat that names Trevor the child’s guardian.
What is a single rancher going to do with a small child, when his housekeep/nanny quits? Maybe, just maybe, he can make a deal with Lacey.
I was excited to start a new cowboy series. And this first book hit it out of the park. I love the unconventional nature of the story and the heavy family emphasis. These characters were amazing and I loved getting to know a bit about the brothers who will (presumably) feature in the upcoming books in this series. I’m hopeful I’ll see more of the characters from this first book too and I grew to love them.

The Rancher’s Inherited Family is the first book in the McCall Ranch Brothers series by Leslie North. This emotional, funny and heartwarming story has heartache, undeniable attraction, witty banter, angst, twists and turns, drama, and lots of feels that all lead to love and a happily ever after.

Interesting thing, wills… Trevor and his brothers have to jump through some hoops to inherit the family home like live there for a year. As if that wasn’t difficult enough, his cousin drops off her four year old daughter and disappears. He doesn’t know what to do and enlists the former housekeeper, Lacey to help him and he will help renovate her B&B. The characters are nicely developed without too much baggage and are very relatable. The little girl is a cutie! This was a very enjoyable read!

This is another wonderful novel by Leslie North! Her writing style, as always, draws the reader into the emotions of the characters, allowing them to share in the happiness and the turmoil as Trevor & Lacey struggle to find their place both in their new situation and in eachother’s lives. The characters display personality, dedication, determination, emotion, heart, chemistry, passion and a strong sense of family.
Trevor had to return to his family ranch following the death of his father. With both of his parents now gone, he must stay there for at least 1 year in order to keep the ranch. Not that he intended to stay longer, that was just not his plan. Raising his 4 year old cousin, Jade, wasn’t either, but plans change!
Lacey, the McCall’s housekeeper for years, was finally leaving to start her own B&B. She had loved Trevor longer than she cared to admit, and knowing nothing could come of it, she just could not stay there with him. Yet, him offering to help her with the rehab on her B&B, and helping with Jade was bringing out more of those feelings.
As Trevor & Lacey acknowledge the feelings and chemistry between them, Trevor’s plans for the future shift. What happens to the future plans that Trevor & Lacey had (leaving the ranch/opening B&B)? Does Trevor leave at the end of the year as planned, breaking 3 hearts in the process? Get your copy of this fabulous novel and read for yourself!
