Trevor McCall doesn’t want to be a rancher, or settle down and become a family man. Now, however, he’s forced to not only take over his late parents’ ranch, but also unexpectedly raise his cousin’s four-year-old daughter, Jade. Sure, he can run the place for the year-long stipulation specified in his parents’ will, but take care of a kid? No way. Nothing in his life has prepared him to be the … to be the father of a four-year-old girl. Complicating matters, Lacey Cameron, his sweet and pretty housekeeper, is leaving to open up her own B&B. Lacey has always lived at the McCall ranch—she can’t leave now when he needs her most. Desperate, Trevor makes a deal with her: Stay and help him with little Jade and in return he’ll help her fix up the B&B. Lacey agrees, and as the two of them work together, Trevor quickly realizes the girl he’s known all his life has grown into a beautiful woman, one who, to his shock, manages to find a crack in his hardened heart.
Lacey’s spent her entire life at the McCall ranch. Generations of Camerons have worked there, but she’s finally breaking free. For years she’s been saving for a B&B, and nothing’s going to stop her from finally realizing her dream and leaving the McCalls. Not that she doesn’t love them all. It’s that she loves one McCall a bit too much, even though she’d die before letting Trevor know how she feels. With this particular cowboy, love was never in the picture. But after the contractor for her B&B scams her, she can’t refuse Trevor’s offer to help. She can ignore the painful wrenching in her heart every time she hears his voice if it will get her business up and running. Then the completely unexpected happens: She realizes Trevor is just as attracted to her as she is to him.
But Trevor plans to leave as soon as his obligation to honor his parents’ last wishes is over. Even so, Lacey gives in to their attraction, knowing she’s just setting herself up for heartache. After all, better to have a broken heart than a lonely one…right?

Trevor McCall is becoming everything he didn’t want to be, a rancher and a family man. Love sneaked up on him.
Lacy Cameron is getting everything she ever dreamed of having. When she walked away from it, her dream it followed her.
This book is a short, sweet love story with the magic of a family in the making. Reached for my first tissue at location 83 and used it several times through the book.

I love Leslie North, and she has become a must read author for this reader. Trevor McCall and his brothers have returned to the family ranch for the reading of the will after their father’s death. The brothers are shocked to learn all 3 must live and work on the ranch for one year to get their inheritance. Trevor offers to stay at the ranch knowing his foreman can run his business for him while his brother’s complete their business before they move back. Trevor is also surprised when he sees his cousin after so many years away. Trevor is even more shocked when she leaves her daughter, Jade, behind. Lacey Cameron has been the long time housekeeper for the McCall’s but is now leaving the ranch to open up her own B & B. Trevor makes Lacey a deal; stay and help with Jade, and he will help her fix up the B & B. As Lacey and Trevor work alongside of each other, Lacey finds herself falling more in love with Trevor, and Trevor finds himself becoming more attracted to Lacey and wondering how she has made cracks in his hardened heart. What happens when Trevor decides he wants to adopt Jade? Will Lacey accept Trevor’s offer of marriage for the sake of Jade or walk away? Will Trevor convince Lacey he loves her and wants her to be part of a forever family with him and Jade? How will Trevor react when he learns the truth about himself, and what he always believed about his father’s feelings toward him? I absolutely loved The Rancher’s Inherited Family by Leslie North. The Rancher’s Inherited Family is a sweet story full of chemistry, family, and love. I would definitely recommend getting The Rancher’s Inherited Family by Leslie North.

I enjoyed this book. The story was good, and the characters were likable. The story moved along quickly, and it was hot and steamy. It was a good start to a new series. This is the first book in the McCall Ranch Brothers series.
Travis is the eldest McCall brother and he’s home for the reading of his late parents will. He doesn’t want to be a rancher or raise a family. His goal is to get back to Helena where he owns his own construction company. After the reading of the will Travis volunteers to stay be the first one to stay on the ranch since the will stipulates that at least one of the brothers must stay on the ranch to run things while so that the others can get their affairs in order.
Lacey Cameron’s family has always been there to help the McCall family, but she wants to work for herself not the McCall family. She finds herself helping Travis out when his cousin shows up one day leaving behind her four-year-old daughter for Travis to raise.
Lacey helps Travis out with his niece and Travis helps her out with getting her bed and breakfast up and running. They’re attracted to each other, but Travis knows Lacey is the marrying kind and doesn’t believe he’s cut out for the married life. Can Travis work through his issues before he loses Lacey forever.

Trevor and his 2 brothers have to live at their parents ranch in order for it to stay in the family and Trevor offers to be the first to move back so his brothers can sort things out before moving back. Lacy thought it was her chance to finally do something for herself and leaving McCall ranch to open a B&B was her dream but Trevor and then Jade is making it hard. We get to not only see Trevor grow into his role of guardian for Jade but how the dynamic between Trevor, Jade and Lacy changes, there are plenty of challenges, a bit of heartbreak, attraction, family bonding and worry that the three of them will not make it through the trying times ahead of them.

This is book one in the McCall Ranch series. Meet Trevor McCall, his parents have passed away and they have left him a stipulation……he needs to stay and manage the family ranch for one year before doing anything with it. Trevor is unhappy about this but willingly takes the task. He also finds himself to be the guardian to his cousin’s four year old daughter, Jade and the housekeeper for the ranch, Lacey is leaving to open her own B&B. How in the world is he going to make this work? Lacey has loved her job and time at the McCall Ranch and as much as it pains her to leave, she finally has reached the financial point that she can make her own dream come true, open her B&B. She will leave a piece of her heart behind as Trevor McCall was the man she secretly loved but it never went anywhere. When Trevor is left struggling with everything that is left at his feet, will Lacey stay? After all, they say it is better to have loved and lost then never at all, right? This was a good story, has entertaining characters, a little shaky in its clarity and flow but a good start to another trilogy series. Enjoy!

As always Leslie brought it. Absolutely loved reading this story.
In this story you will get to know Trevor, Lacey, and Jade. Trevor is the adopted brother of the McCall boys. When they inherit the ranch from there family and find out one of them must remain on the property for a year or it’s forfeited he gets chosen. He also has to keep watch over his niece.
Lacey and her family have been the housekeepers for the McCall ranch and when her plans for a bed and breakfast almost get ruined Trevor is there to help. In exchange for helping her he needs her help on the ranch and taking care of his niece.
Neither are looking for love but that’s exactly when it looks to strike.

Start to another wonderful series by this very talented author Her characters are always so real that by the end of the book you always feel as of you have made new friends and this one was no exception
Trevor McCall isn’t interested in been a rancher but his parents will stipulates that he has to be on the ranch for twelve months if he wants to inherit so stay he will Then to complicate things even further he becomes the guardian of his cousins four year old daughter Jade. He knows that he needs help but Lacey Cameron his housekeeper whose family have been with the McCalls for generations is about to leave and open her own B&B. When Lacey is ripped off by her contractor he sees his chance and offers to help her with the B&B if she will stay for a while and help him with Jade. The only problem is he hadn’t realised the housekeeper had become such a beauty and he isn’t sure if he cab stay away from her. Lacey has always loved Trevor and decides that it is better to love and lose then wonder for the rest of her life even though she knows he will break her heart Will this playboy who can’t wait to leave actually have a change of heart You will have to read to see
Trevor thinks he is not good enough to be loved since the day he found out he was adopted.
Lacey’s dream of opening a Bed & Breakfast is going to disappear after the reading of the will of Trevor’s parents.
It is nice to see how Trevor changes under the influence of Lacey and little Jade.
It is difficult to think about how much a four-year-old little girl has suffered because of her mother. I think she is the best part of this story. She is the one to join Lacey and Trevor together and the one that put a smile on my face.
The Rancher’s Inherited Family is wonderful story that reminds us that family is not necessarily who we are born to but who we choose to have in our lives.
Trevor returns to the family ranch after the death of his parents, ok the people who adopted him.
With resentment and feeling lost he doesn’t believe he is worthy of being loved. Until the love of a four year girl Jada and Lacey come into his life.
Lacey is asked to help at the McCall’s ranch till the brothers get settled. Working towards her own dreams and helping Trevor with Jada, her feelings for both grow and she is scare of getting hurt.
This a moving story of how sometime we are harder ourselves than reality.

With his father dying Trevor has to return to the family ranch to live for one year to claim his inheritance. Lacey has been dreaming of running her own B & B so when she gets an inheritance from her former employer that’s what she starts making plans for. When she is asked to continue working for the family during the transition she agrees but only until a temporary person. Sparks fly between them as they work within the house together. One evening a cousin of Trevor’s stops by but before he can talk to her she leaves. When he goes to go into the main house he finds a little girl wrapped in a blanket with a note. His cousin left her daughter for him to take care of. Will Trevor be able to stay the year and take care of Jade? Will he claim Lacey as his own?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book.

Trevor didn’t want to be a rancher or have a family but now he’s forced to be a rancher and raise his cousin’s daughter. His ;late parents will has a stipulation that says he has to run the ranch for 1 year, well he can handle that part but nothing in his life has prepared him for instant fatherhood of a 4 year old girl. It doesn’t help that his housekeeper, Lacey, is leaving to start her own B&B. Needing her help he makes a deal with her to stay and help him and he’ll in return help her fix up her B&B. Will romance blossom between Trevor and Lacey? Another great book from Leslie that has a wonderfully written story line that flows smoothly, has wonderful characters you’ll fall in love with and is a book you don’t want to miss out on.

The Rancher’s Inherited Family is the first book in Leslie North’s brand-new series – McCall Ranch Brothers. Trevor and Lacey’s story will pull on the heart strings and drive home the emotional impact of finding where you belong while navigating the wealth of issues that come from forced responsibility and the knowledge that you are someone’s only hope at stability.
Each have their own issues, and neither wants to succumb to the expectations of others; but when feelings are involved and an attraction that can’t be denied, all bets are off! Trevor is a likeable character once he moves past his aversion to ranching life, and Lacey is enchanting with her determination to follow her dreams, but her overwhelming need to help Trevor find his way. This is another easy to read and family orientated story that will definitely resonate with many readers.
I look forward to the next exciting story of the brothers McCall.
I really enjoyed reading about Trevor and Lucy and how they found a happy ending after so many years. Lucy has crashed on Trevor for years as they grow up together. Trevor had a lot of angry and hurt to overcome before he could truly be happy in life. Looking forward to reading more from this author in this series.

This story pulls at my heart so much. The pain he’s been through for years is something no one should ever go through, but with little Jade coming into his life, things turn around and make him see it all in a new perspective. He’s found love in so many ways it made me tear up a bit. I cannot wait to see what happens with the brothers too.

I like the story of Lacey and Trevor. But I found the lead characters not as likable. They did evolve as the story unfolded, but the insecurity each felt about himself/herself for a long time made the story a bit hard to enjoy.
