Trevor McCall doesn’t want to be a rancher, or settle down and become a family man. Now, however, he’s forced to not only take over his late parents’ ranch, but also unexpectedly raise his cousin’s four-year-old daughter, Jade. Sure, he can run the place for the year-long stipulation specified in his parents’ will, but take care of a kid? No way. Nothing in his life has prepared him to be the … to be the father of a four-year-old girl. Complicating matters, Lacey Cameron, his sweet and pretty housekeeper, is leaving to open up her own B&B. Lacey has always lived at the McCall ranch—she can’t leave now when he needs her most. Desperate, Trevor makes a deal with her: Stay and help him with little Jade and in return he’ll help her fix up the B&B. Lacey agrees, and as the two of them work together, Trevor quickly realizes the girl he’s known all his life has grown into a beautiful woman, one who, to his shock, manages to find a crack in his hardened heart.
Lacey’s spent her entire life at the McCall ranch. Generations of Camerons have worked there, but she’s finally breaking free. For years she’s been saving for a B&B, and nothing’s going to stop her from finally realizing her dream and leaving the McCalls. Not that she doesn’t love them all. It’s that she loves one McCall a bit too much, even though she’d die before letting Trevor know how she feels. With this particular cowboy, love was never in the picture. But after the contractor for her B&B scams her, she can’t refuse Trevor’s offer to help. She can ignore the painful wrenching in her heart every time she hears his voice if it will get her business up and running. Then the completely unexpected happens: She realizes Trevor is just as attracted to her as she is to him.
But Trevor plans to leave as soon as his obligation to honor his parents’ last wishes is over. Even so, Lacey gives in to their attraction, knowing she’s just setting herself up for heartache. After all, better to have a broken heart than a lonely one…right?

The Rancher’s Inherited Family by Leslie North is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I have fallen in love with . I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about western romances.

** spoiler alert ** Trevor never pictured himself as a family man. Lacey has always hid in the background. They strike a deal to help each other out, but never counted feelings becoming involved. Will Trevor realize what he wants before it is too late? Will Lacey get everything she wants?
I loved how these two slowly helped the other come out and grow. I didn’t blame Trevor for how he was reacting to what was going on around him after everything that was thrown his way. I loved how Lacey didn’t just fall at his feet and was determined to get her dream. Good read!
I was totally captivated from the very beginning with the great character and storyline development that kept me engaged throughout the entire book!
I have joyed this author’s books. This one felt a little rushed. I do not wish to leave any spoilers. The story revolves around an inheritance contingent on three sons leaving their respective lives and moving back to the family ranch and an attraction between the hired help and oldest sibling, who has major inferiority problems. It all works itself out in the end. A good read, just needs a little fleshing out.
Trevor and his brothers need to live at their family ranch as part of their parents will. Trevor’s business allows him to live there first until his brothers can put their lives in order and move to the ranch. Lacey and her family has always worked for the McCall family, and Lacey had a crush on Trevor growing up. Lacey is getting ready to start her own B&B business so her staying is not an option. When Trevor’s cousin, Penny, drops off her daughter, Jade, leaving Trevor as her guardian, Trevor needs Lacey’s help.
What happens when Lacey, Trevor and Jade are looking and feeling like a family but Trevor does not think he is the marrying type. Will these two tear each other apart or will they find the love they each desire.

Great romance with fantastic characters. I would definitely recommend it. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.
This book was gripping, well written & the chemistry between the characters, Trevor & Lacey, sizzled throughout this wonderful read.
Well done Leslie. I look forward to more!
A heartwarming first story in the McCall Ranch Brothers series. Trevor and his two brothers arrived in town for the reading of their father’s will. When they learn that they must reside at the ranch, Trevor agrees to stay until his brothers are able to join him. He is worried when he learns that Lacey Cameron, who has looked after the ranch for years, plans to leave and open a B&B. Things become even more complicated when his cousin drops off her four-year old daughter, Jade. He knows nothing about raising children and has no idea what to do. When Lacey’s plans to leave are somewhat derailed, she agrees to stay at the ranch. Can Lacey find a way to ignore her feelings for Trevor? Will Trevor find everything in world he’d never known he wanted? A truly enjoyable romance by Ms. North. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. Very enjoyable and engaging book.
McCall brothers and this is Trevor story. He is one of the brothers but always he feels like outsiders. He can’t love, he doesn’t feel wanted, he is not good enough for anybody.
Now ,after parents unexpected death he is back on ranch to fulfil obligations. For one year the brothers must stay at the ranch or all money will go to charity and family legacy will be forgotten.
While there he meet Lacey. She is last generation of women that work for McCall Family.
Some past feelings resurface, some last secrets are revealed. And in the end ,nothing is more important than family and love.

3 brothers who are told that they have to live on the farm of their deceased parents for 1 year in order to receive the inheritance. The eldest brother stays so that the other 2 can get their affairs in order before they go to the farm. A housekeeper belongs to the house. She is the daughter of the previous housekeeper and has been secretly in love with Trevor for years. She knows that love is not reciprocal and decides to pursue her dreams; starting a B&B.
Then cousin Penny leaves her daughter on the farm’s sidewalk and flees from her responsibilities. Trevor and Lacey grow closer together in their care for Jade.
Personally I found this a less good story from Leslie North. I have already read a lot of her romances but with this story I did not feel the click that she would otherwise be able to display in her writing style. I personally found Trevor aloof and easy going. Nice to see how he grows in his care for Jade and how he learns to love her. Towards Tracey I do not feel the emotions and the love that she describes. Also from the side of Tracey I read how she feels but it does not come through. The chemistry is not there in my view.
I give this book 3,5stars
Although……still curious about the story of the brothers; Randy and Carson

Another great read by Leslie North who once again brings strong , well developed characters and an entertaining and romantic story line. It’s a sweet story with Trevor,Lacey and four year old Jade forming a bond while working together and eventually a love so realistic you feel you’re there. It’s a story of finding love and happiness when least expected. It’s well written, moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Great story.
I loved this sweet story, what started out as being the given the burden of looking after the family home with his brothers turned out in the end to be the complete opposite. Trevor didn’t think things could get any worse his cousin Penny suddenly turned up & disappeared just as quick leaving her 4yr old daughter Jade on his doorstep to look after. That is until an angel in the form of Lacey the daughter of somebody who worked for the family when she was younger came into their lives bring love with her. Their feeling & chemistry between them grew bringing them closer together but he didn’t want to admit it trying to convince himself he was no good for anybody. I was desperate for the two of them to get together admitting their feelings to each other & also becoming a family with Jade. This story will draw you in from the start.

The family black sheep gets a chance to find his true life
The Rancher’s Inherited Family is the first book of the McCall Ranch Brothers series and all I can say is Leslie North has once again kicked off a new series in a spectacular fashion. This is the story of Trevor McCall, Lacey Cameron and of course little Jade. The story is filled with all the delicious things you expect from a Leslie North book – a strong but flawed possessive and protective Alpha H, a beautiful, smart, witty, feisty h, lots of emotion, chemistry, fun, drama and of course some twists and the all important chemistry between the H and h.
This is a lovely story of a man who is brought home by tragedy and is given a chance to see with fresh eyes the beauty that has always been in front of him and experience the love that will make his heart and soul whole.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Another sweet story by Leslie North. It was short, but to the point of the plot. I like all the characters, but I felt sympathetic about little Jade and her mommy. I wish there was more story about Jade’s mom. I like the happy ending though, but I wish there was more to the story. I would like to know more about Trevor’s brothers. Overall, I’ll recommend this book if you’re looking to read something short and sweet.
This was a great story and was very entertaining. Once I started I could not put it down. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is sizzling hot. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story.

Trevor is adopted so he doesn’t feel like he deserves the family ranch and when he comes back for the will reading he also finds himself taking care of Jade. Lacey needed help from Trevor after her contractor took off with her money and Trevor needed help with Jade. I am glad they are able to help each other and find out they really have feelings for each other. I enjoyed their story.

Leslie weaves a great new beginning with the McCall Ranch Bothers. We find that the brother’s are back on the ranch for a will reading after the death their father. Trevor McCall, the eldest and Lacey Cameron, the housekeeper will need to join forces when four year old, Jade, is dropped off at the ranch and a contractor has scammed Lacey out of her dream. The story is interesting, great characters with chemistry and a captivating journey to a happy ending. I definitely loved it and look forward to reading more of the McCalls.

A nice fun start to her McCall Ranch Brothers series
Lacey, a housekeeper, makes a deal with Trevor, ranch co-owner, when unexpected circumstances are thrown at them both. As the story progresses a connection is made, feelings are jumbled, and getting past perceptions into new light may save them both. Leslie North’s The Rancher’s Inherited Family is a nice fun start to her McCall Ranch Brothers series. There are just enough dark moments for the main characters to work through that the reader can enjoy celebrating their victories with them. I appreciated that as they went on their journey together, they also had their individual struggles to overcome besides the relationship ups and downs. I will definitely read the rest of the series and can’t wait to see what’s in store for middle brother Carson and youngest brother Randy.
I received a free copy of the book from the author via Booksprout. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Another great read by Leslie North. I really loved the characters. They are interesting, well-developed and have great chemistry. They just pulled me in and captured my attention right from the blurb till the last word. Can’t wait for the next two books. Happy reading!!
