The Rancher’s Fake Fiancée is a sweet, heartwarming, fake relationship romance. Tyler is outstanding as the grumpy cowboy and Hadley sparkles as his fake fiancée. Tyler has many issues to overcome – especially regarding the family ranch he used to dream of running. In this well written book, which works as a stand alone, the reader will enjoy breath taking Montana scenery and the interactions of the extended Blackwell family members. I did not want to put the book down and was sorry to reach the end. Fortunately there are more books in the series!
“The Rancher’s Fake Fiancée” (Return of the Blackwell Brothers Book 4) by Amy Vastine is a great read. I loved Tyler and Hadley’s story. This is a wonderful addition to this series. This story is full of family, romance, second chances, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the final Blackwell brother, Chance, in “The Rancher’s Homecoming” by Anna J. Stewart. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, cowboys, and series.
I enjoyed the story of Tyler and Hadley. She agrees to pretend they are engaged when they go to his family’s ranch. He wants to sell the ranch but other members of the family does not. What will they end up doing?
This is part of a series but you do not have to read the other books to enjoy this one. I believe I have read part of the series but not all. I am definitely looking forward to the next one in the series.
I received an complementary copy of the book from Prism book tours. I was not required to write an positive. This is my own opinion.
4.5 Stars
This the the fourth book in the series and fourth brother to fall. I really enjoy this multi author series. Every time I read one of these book I fall for more for these Blackwells. I really liked Tyler and Hadley together. They make a business proposition, but all too soon these fake feelings become to feel all too real. I liked watching Tyler on the ranch it brings out a new side to him. I’m glad Hadley was there to experience it with him. I just love those Blackwells so much. I really can’t wait for the last brother’s story.
The title alone tells you plenty about this book so I won’t go into detail about the synopsis of this story other than to say the setup was fun but once in Montana, things take a turn.
Tyler and Hadley both struggle to feel accepted by their families. Amy Vastine creates a believable situation where two people would need to continue to playout a fake engagement. And all three of the other Blackwell brothers (as well as a few other townspeople) make an appearance.
At its heart, this is a story of how a person’s perception can get skewed to the point it changes who they believe themselves to be. Both Tyler and Hadley struggle with their family dynamics which are sometimes tenuous but there is also love between the Blackwell brothers as well as Hadley’s family.
Four down brothers have found love. There’s one left and I am looking forward to Chance’s story and getting to meet his daughter Rosie in the final book of this series.

Tyler had no favorites. No favorite color. No favorite food. Which may not sound significant yet it was very important to the story. You see, he had always felt like the unwanted child. The insignificant one. Even as he grew up, he felt that he never measured up to his brothers and probably never could. The theme of having favorites was woven nicely throughout the story in a significant way.
Tyler was pretty funny. He was one of those people who gets so wrapped up in what they are doing, their actions could be perceived as selfish, and yet his motivations weren’t selfish – he was just oblivious. Like when he purchased a first-class airline ticket for himself and a regular seat for Hadley who was traveling with him and for him. As his fake fiancée! It cracked me up when he did that and the way the scene played out actually made him a little endearing.
I have been enjoying this series and love how each of the authors so expertly ties the stories together as a different brother returns ever so reluctantly to the family ranch. The way the brothers finally got Tyler to return was quite funny. But don’t make the mistake of thinking this story is all laughter. The insecurity issues that both Tyler and Hadley have to work through are typical of those way too many people deal with in real life every day. Both of them ended up feeling the need to lie to the other – under duress – which caused some big issues to be worked through.
While I am gladly anticipating the final book in this series, I am a little sad knowing the next book will be the finale. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the Blackwell brothers and the women they grow to love.

I was given a copy of this book for free. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
This is book 4 of the Return of Blackwell Brothers series but can be read as a stand-alone. Of course, reading the previous three books will enrich the background information you have as a reader but not absolutely necessary to enjoy the book. I love that one author has taken one Blackwell brother at a time to give him a detailed story and I am really enjoying how each story adds on more layers to the beautifully complex and lovable Blackwell brotherhood. If you enjoy well-written clean romance, you will love this book and the entire series.
Book 4 centers around Tyler who is a twin. The Blackwell brothers have seen much sadness and tragedy and most fled their Montana ranch when they came of age. Circumstances bring them back, one at a time. Tyler and his story really grabbed my heart and tear ducts and didn’t let go until the end. I loved the first three books but I have to say this one is so far my favorite (ha ha….if you’ve read the book, you’ll get my unintended pun here).
Tyler is so broken, seeing himself as unlovable and invisible in his family of brothers. Hadley understands how he feels due to her own family circumstances but shows her tender side, full of sunshine, optimism, and warmth. Unfortunately they start their relationship on a lie of pretending to be engaged and their lies spin out of control until both their worlds fall apart. Their dialogue is witty and fun and their romance, once they finally acknowledge their feelings for each other, is sweet and tender. Tyler’s three brothers and their wives/fiancées make great secondary characters and the entire clan of Blackwells will have you falling in love with them.
Now onto Chance’s story! It promises to be a good one!
I received a copy of this book from Prism Book Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
This was a fun story and a good addition to the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series. Each book in this series definitely builds on the one that comes before it, so I would recommend reading all of the stories for the full picture regarding what is going on at the Blackwell Ranch.
Although there were plenty of lighthearted situations in this novel, there were also some deeply held hurts that Tyler had to work through.
The romance between Tyler and Hadley was sweet, changing their relationship as the story progressed. However, these two ended up embroiled in multiple lies between themselves and Tyler’s brothers, which led to some hard lessons learned when the truth came to light.
I’m really enjoying this series and am looking forward to the last book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I loved this book, I have been really enjoy reading this series so far and this book has not disappointed at all. I loved how Hadley had this independent personality who seem to take any situation by the horns and runs with it. I loved how honest and real the emotions got with both Hadley and Tyler. I loved how it caught up with the characters from the other books, I also really enjoyed how this author sucks you into the story at the beginning and has you turning the pages. This book just seemed to follow it seemed to short if you ask me but it was super amazing and leaves you wanting more in the end. If you have not read this series yet grab this book and the others and have fun you will not be disappointed.
The ever elusive Tyler who will talk to no brother but Chance, finally comes home but it is in order to get the place sorted so it is appealing to buyers so he can walk away one last time and know he will never come back. Poor Hadley backed herself into a corner with wanting the job that correctly should have be hers and the only way to get it now is to pretend she is her bosses fiance, no problem right?! There is plenty of dodging questions from the family and trying to get things sorted out for the ranch that Tyler doesn’t realise he is back doing ranch work and loving it, not only that but Hadley loves to help where she can along with having ideas to make the ranch even better while this happens they are both falling for each other and have no idea how to handle it. Your heart swells as you see them settle into ranch life and get to know each other, then will break when you realise why Tyler didn’t want to come home and only hope that between Hadley along with his family can show him why he shouldn’t sell the farm and that Hadley is more than just a fake fiance, but I tell you what you will be biting your nails towards the end!!!
A fake relationship just might become real as Tyler and Hadley uncover their attraction for each other! Fast paced and attention grabbing. I wasn’t as invested in the connection between these two as I have been with some of the other brothers, but the overall story was still interesting. This entire family and story lion has been great and I’m looking forward to the last brother’s return home!
The last thing Tyler Blackwell wants to be doing is returning home to Falcon Creek, Montana to his family ranch, but his brothers have harassed him for the last time and he can’t avoid it any longer. He’s not willing to come off as a failure though, so he’s taking a fiancee home with him … even if he has to coerce her into going along for the ride!
Hadley Sullivan things her boss is crazy when he tells his brothers she’s his fiancee. They aren’t personal with each other in any way, but hey, if play acting is what it takes to get the promotion she’s been wanting, she guesses she’ll just have to play along!
The hero, Tyler Blackwell, is one grumpy workaholic guy and he sure doesn’t want to go back to his family’s ranch in Montana! When his back is against the wall and he HAS to go back, he drags a co-worker, Hadley, with him and announces that she’s his fiancée! Hadley only agrees because he promises her he’ll promote her to the job she really wants! However, I would have given Hadley a medal because dealing with Tyler was anything but fun! He was terrible! He was never happy and really didn’t treat her well for quite awhile….however, she stuck with him! The sparring between these two was actually kind of funny! I really enjoyed the revolution of both of these characters. The book was very enjoyable and a definite great addition to this series! The HEA was sweet!
The Rancher’s Fake Fiancée is book 4 in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers books however it is a standalone. The author did an amazing job of giving background on the first three Blackwell brothers’ stories, and surrounding family and friends, but these books/brothers are wonderful and I am loving the entire series.
TRFF is about Tyler Blackwell. He is a twin of Chance, who also left town and really doesn’t want to come back (and hasn’t yet)…for anything. I won’t recap it but Ty’s brothers finally coerce him into coming back to the family ranch to help out. He has a marketing business far away from the ranch but he makes a deal with a coworker to “pretend” to be his fiancée so his family won’t ask questions and he can make a “quick” getaway. Enter Hadley Sullivan. I’m chuckling as I write this review because for Hadley, this surprise engagement comes out of left field. She has to help Ty convince his family that they are in love and must get back to Portland to their work and wedding planning. Of course, nothing goes as planned and that’s the story.
I really felt for Tyler; all the brothers have had a hard time and he has to work just as hard as his first three brothers to not only have a life but to come to terms with himself and his grandfather and family. Really simple explanation but his story just touched my heart. Hadley is wonderful, maybe a bit too trusting, but she, too, has an agenda and reading about her slowly falling in love with Tyler (and his family) was wonderful. She has some crazy family dynamics as well and as all “sham” relationships, she and Tyler have some fancy footwork to do. It will make you laugh, make you want to sometimes shake both of ‘em, and make you want to cheer them on to an HEA.
Great story, wonderful series, and I highly recommend.
“The Rancher’s Fake Fiancée” by Amy Vastine is book four of the Return of the Blackwell Brothers continuity and features Tyler Blackwell and Hadley Sullivan.
Tyler returns to Falcon Creek to promote the ranch so it can be sold. He swore he’d never set foot on Blackwell land again, but if the ranch is sold, he believes it will take his painful memories along with it. He doesn’t return alone. He convinces Hadley to go with him, but she has to pretend she’s his fiancée.
Hadley agrees to Tyler’s condition, but only if he gives her the promotion she deserves.
Tyler and Hadley learn a lot about each other, and themselves, on their way to falling in love.
“The Rancher’s Fake Fiancée” will make you root for, not only Tyler and Hadley, but for Tyler himself. Ms. Vastine has written these characters and their emotions so well, it’s like you know them personally.
The Rancher’s Fake Fiancee is one of those fun reads. You start it going in knowing there will be a HEA but how they get there is so much fun. I loved taking this trip with these characters. THE RANCHER’S FAKE FIANCEE is part of the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series and while it can be read as a stand alone I do feel like you’ll better understand these characters and their situations if you read the series in order. The story is fast paced, well written, and engaging. The characters are well developed, realistic and just plan fun. I so want to visit the Blackwell Ranch! Fans of the heartwarming line knows that these stories are always “sweet” in nature and very entertaining. I recommend you pick up this story today and be prepared to buy the whole series!
