~ Five brothers, one family tragedy, untold heartache. ~The world callously moved on when my sister disappeared without a trace ten years ago.My life—my family’s lives—froze in grief that torturous summer day.My soul crumbled completely, a few years later, when I buried my son.I survive the agony by hiding it neatly beneath my businessman façade and all the accolades that money can buy.But Harper … accolades that money can buy.
But Harper Devlin is my Achilles heel. The one who got away . . . with my broken heart.
Now she’s back and as irresistible as ever.
I shouldn’t want her. I can’t have her. But I need her.
And she needs me. I may have to conceal all my wounds just to survive being around her again, but I’m willing to do it to help her build her dreams and her business. It’s what I do. It’s what I know. I’m damn good at it.
My name is Levi Creed.
I am the Rainmaker.
***Reader note: This is the second of a 6-part emotional family saga series. Each story is 100% male first-person point-of-view, and while each full-length novel is guaranteed to have a complete HEA romance, their family mystery remains unsolved until the end of the series.
***Due to profanity and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Levi and Harper
A other fabulous read in the Creed family saga. Levi and Harper are wonderful and their second chance love story was beautiful. As always, Ms. Allen makes you laugh and cry and delivers a quick moving story that’s smoking hot ! Can’t wait to read the next story!
Levi Creed has lost more than the average thirty-year-old man, and he’s channeled his grief into making his business a success. When his father had a heart attack, Levi heads home. Not only is every family gathering clouded by the disappearance of his sister ten years ago, but there is a new development in her case. If that isn’t enough to deal with, he comes face to face with Harper Devlin, his one true love and the girl whose heart he broke while trying to do the right thing.
This author hooked me with the first book in this series, and Levi’s story is just as heartfelt, emotional and compelling as the first book. I loved Levi and Harper’s story and was especially taken with the way a kind-hearted, bubbly female could help heal the wounded, calloused hero by simply loving him. If you’re a fan of series romance with a HEA and an ongoing element of mystery, you’ll love the Family Creed Series.

It is difficult to describe how much I enjoyed The Rainmaker. As someone that reads approximately 200 books a year it is very hard to find something new and interesting. I have found it with The Family Creed. I received an ARC from the author and this is my freely given honest opinion. I had read the first book in The Family Creed Series, The Executioner, and didn’t know how the author was going to top the emotion in it. Well Shauna Allen did! The Rainmaker is an emotional roller coaster that I did not want to end and luckily for me it will not be ending but continuing with The Gunman. Each book stands alone but the underlying storyline is the disappearance of the Creed sister, Claire, over a decade ago without a trace. The Rainmaker is told from the POV of Levi Creed, the second oldest sibling. He’s a phenomenal businessman but emotionally, he has been living in a black hole for years. In The Executioner, Levi ran into his college love Harper, and no matter how hard he has tried to bury his feelings for her they are rising to the surface. In the years since he has seen her other than his career, life has not been kind to Levi. Emotionally, he is his own worst enemy. Everyone deserves happiness but will Levi be able to open up his heart and accept his? Does Harper have the strength to work through the issues of his bruised soul? Read The Rainmaker and find out how they find laughter, heartache, loss, steamy sex and love again. My final note is that if you haven’t read The Executioner you should. The story is running in a timeline format and you will be at a disadvantage without starting from the beginning. These books are NOT cliffhangers but part of a saga. There is a beginning, middle and end to each book but the completion of the Creed saga is going to be a few books away.
5+ stars
This book and series should read every romantic suspense lover. I enjoyed every minute of it and never wanted it to end. It has so much depth, powerful, effortless and at times dark storytelling. The Rainmaker is the second book in The Family Creed series. It is a story about Levi Creed and Harper Devlin. It is also a second chance story. The writing just flowed and had me captivated and invested to the story from start to finish wanting to find out what happens next. It was so effortless and poignant but also quite the emotional rollercoaster. It’s super fun, sexy read. The characters are brilliant, complex, engaging and so likeable. Because of author’s awe-inspiring details and visualization I had a feeling like I was right there with characters, living in their world and hearing every sound, murmur and solving the family mystery of Claire’s disappearance.
Levi Creed has been through a lot and his life was not easy. He lost the love of his life after doing what he thought was the right thing and then the devastation hits him again.
Harper spent beautiful time with Levi when they first met and then he suddenly left her leaving their hearts broken. She is vulnerable, fighter, independent, down to earth, loyal and such a wonderful person.
Levi and Harper were amazing together and it showed that they are really meant to be. They are both flawed and complex. Neither of them in the beginning is looking for a relationship, but also can’t deny the strong connection they feel or the chemistry. They are passionate, a little bit angsty, intense. At first Levi tries to ignore her but Harper was persistent so they agree to be just friends. Their story is heartfelt, emotional and compelling. I loved that Harper loved him through it all and showed that she is exactly what he needs in order to heal and start their life together. I loved how they blossomed and thrived, got their second chance at love and a new beginning. The ending was perfect for them except that mystery of disappearance of their sister continues.
One word: INCREDIBLE! It kept my attention at all times and I could not put it down. It really was fantastic, heart pounding read and a true page turner. With an effortless writing, awe-inspiring details, suspenseful storyline, mystery, romance, the author took us on an emotional and beautiful journey of the characters and allowed us into their minds and hearts – to see them who they were and what they have become – while solving the family mystery. I really can’t wait to read the rest of the Creed brothers. I highly recommend it.
The Rainmaker by Shauna Allen is a fantastic book! I couldn’t put my kindle down until I finished! The Rainmaker is the 2nd book in the Family Creed series. It also picks up where the first book in the series left off. Shauna Allen doesn’t disappoint you at all in this book.
The Rainmaker explores the second chance at love between Levi Creed and Harper Delvin. The author takes you back in time when the pair first met and Levi has broken up with his then-girlfriend Charlotte. Harper and Levi were in a relationship with each other before Levi got some new and had to leave Harper without an explanation. Levi is back in town because his family got some news about his missing sister’s cold case. He also sees Harper again and the chemistry is still simmering between the pair. Will Harper and Levi get their second chance at love? You will have to read The Rainmaker to find out!
The Rainmaker has all that a romance reader would like in a romance. It has plenty of romance, suspense, and hot love scenes. Just a warning you have to read book one of this series before reading The Rainmaker. So make sure you get a copy of this book! You won’t be disappointed.
God. This book broke me and then slowly put me back together. I read this shortly after book one and felt so much more heartache with the family. The disappearance of their sister. A burial of a child.
I’m ready to start book 3.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Levi Creed has a plan for his future. He’s good at what he does but does it make him happy. His personal life hasn’t been really happy either. Harper Devlin is a woman trying to make something out of her passion. It was interesting to watch their business and personal life mesh together as lines drawn in the sand begin to blur.
A mystery surrounds his family, which should show the reader that reading this series in order would be a good idea. It reminded me that it had been just over two years since I read the first book. So to get back into the family, if you haven’t read that book in a while either, you may want to revisit Asher’s story.
The author does a great job of blending two stories together. We get to know who Levi is and get an idea of his own personal pain. Then we get to see the pain that the Creed family has had to deal with. Harper is a little gun shy but she’s willing to revisit what she and Levi started in the past. She’s also someone you might be able to connect to. I liked the idea of her business and if it was a real one, I could see myself as one of her customers.
It shouldn’t be tough for you to get this book finished in one day because once you get started you’re not going to want to put it down. The ending is a mixture of both happy and sad and maybe it will also have you knowing what your next book to read will be. And if you need more of an incentive the author will leave you with a Gunman teaser.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
It is sad, emotional, fun, loving read, filled with normal day to day life of losing one you love and trying to move on. The not knowing is killing this family but somehow someway they find the strength to move on never forgetting The Dove that touched them so deep in her short life. They spend years wondering, looking for answers but never getting them. Each family member is going through their own hell but still moves on with their day to day life. Here you will read Levi’s story he has had his own pain and loss besides losing his baby sister he lost his one true love, marrying another only to lose his son, with nothing there to hold the marriage together he lost his wife. Now years later his past meets his future bring back the one woman he truly loved. His past has changed him into a man so far from the easy going lucky man he used to be. What you see now is a man driven to make money, a mover, shaker in the business world, never looking back the pain is still too real. With Harper back in his life he is going to have to face the demons from his past.
What a great addition to this series, the author had me in her palm with the first book and this one was no different. Clair is never far away as we get closer to the truth of what happened to her it becomes very emotional and heartbreaking leaving us with more questions and few answers. I and the family feel that she is dead but there is still hope that she may be alive out there in this crazy world. The author gives us drama that held my attention, making me want to read The Dove waiting to know what happened, but this is Levi’s story which holds its own interest and entertainment. Here we see a broken man watching one of his brothers finding true happiness and another family member having a child which brings back memories he has been trying to outrun. At the same time he must face how things ended with Harper and bring closure to that part of his life.
Levi is strong, but weak, he is man with dreams but has lost so many. He is a ticking time bomb ready to blow his top, he has so much pain pinned up inside which shows just how strong he really is that he hasn’t let go. Harper is a caring loving woman who knows what she wants but knows how to give the space Levi needs. As their past come to light your heart breaks for each of them. There are some very emotional scenes that will bring tears to your eyes. I wanted so bad to give them both support, grabbing them holding them tight. It isn’t all sad the author gives you lots of laughs in a story that is very entertaining and holds your attention from start to finish. I just love the energy Harper has she is so full of life making those around her smile and laugh. She has known true pain and sorrow but has grown to be an amazing woman. Between these pages you will find a family filled with love, and pain that supports the other but gives them space as well as they go through what no family should.
Bottom line this is a series you don’t want to miss filled with so much it will break your heart, but they will make you laugh, chuckle and want to cry for all they have gone through. They are strong, demanding but gentle and caring. It is a story that will stay with you as you live their journey seeking answers to the unknown and finding a reason to live a life without their dearly beloved sister. It is a story filled with hot steamy passion, the love scenes are wonderful. You are going to need to things why reading this book tissues and a fan. This will be a series I will read again and again filled with wonderful characters and a plot that will pull you in.
I loving this series. There is a little bit more details coming in about Claire but there are still so many questions and no answers forthcoming. I loved that Levi and Harper reconnected. They should have been together from the start and I would have junk punched Levi for leaving Harper the way he did. I understood why he did what he did but he could have handled it better. Everly was forgiving but she should have made him grovel more. I did like that there wasn’t any drawn angsty moments. Can’t wait to dive into the next book.
The Rainmaker is the second book in the Creed Family series. This book should be read after the first book as they build on each other and enhance each other.
Back in school, Levi had found the girl he wanted to marry, but as life sometimes does, things changed and he thought he lost her forever. He married someone else and had a son, then he lost his son too early in life. After all the loss he has gone through, Levi was sure that it meant he was not meant to love or be loved.
When Levi goes with his brother to run to the store to get his protein shakes, he is surprised when he see the owner is Harper, the one that got away. Doing what he does best, he looked into her store and found several ways to improve things. Things seem to be fine until he is rattled. Will this cause him to run from the one person that could give him the happiness he thought he lost? Or will he learn from his past and get all he ever wanted?
This book sucks you in and you just cannot put it down. A definite must-read!
I still adore these Creed men! But. There’s. Much. More!
