Eleven-year-old Drew Montgomery has not, does not, and will not ever want a stupid old rabbit. All they do is sit in their cages, eat carrots, and poop. Then his annoying little sister blackmails him into hiding a bunny in his closet. She knows what really happened to his “stolen” bike and she’s threatening to tell. Now Drew’s in a real jam. If his “No pets!” parents find the rabbit or, worse, … his sister blabs the truth, he’ll be grounded till grade seven for sure.
And if that’s not enough trouble, two girls at school drag him into a prank war that goes from bad to worse — and it’s all the rabbit’s fault. Plus, the weirdest girl in his class wants to be his science partner. If she tells him she wants to be his girlfriend, he just knows he’s gonna die.
Drew must find a way to outwit the mean girls, wiggle out of the blackmail deal, and get rid of the rabbit before it destroys his bedroom and his life.

This is a great book for a pre-teen, about 12 years old. It is a nice realistic, clean, family story that is easy to read and entertaining. Nobody gets killed, and there is no foul language. The narrator, Drew, is a pre-teen who deals with typical pre-teen issues – a little sister, parents, friends, and middle school. As I read each chapter I …
As an older adult I enjoyed this story so I really think that younger readers, who it is more geared towards, would love it even more. It’s a fun story with several life lessons thrown in, my favorite being the friendship that developed between Drew and the so-called ‘weird’ girl who turned out to be a valued friend.
I read this book to my son at bedtime and after he falls sleep I have to force my self to stop reading it, also as he is falling asleep I have to control my self from laughing out loud. Your child will definitely be entertained.
It was a great book for my 6 year old granddaughter and me to share.
My 9-year old granddaughter loves to read. She said this is a very good book. She read it almost without stopping!
Very cute. Am recommending it to my grandchildren aged nine to thirteen.

I had never heard of this series before, but there was a sale so I picked up a copy. I found this to be a cute, funny, heartwarming stories about the power that big eyes and a pouty face can have, both on a girl and a rabbit.
Starting with bike trouble and a cardboard box, we begin this rabbity tale with a reluctant boy being blackmailed by his …
Decent story , lots of lies & secrets kept from parents, and an adversarial sibling relationship.
This book is excellent for a third grade reading level. The characters are well thought out and entertaining to children. We are currently reading the sequel to it (the Rabbit Ate my Flip flops) and are already wishing there was a third one in the series!
