Not just this book but all of his books are great. Must reads
This books opens a saga that is exciting throughout. His characters are rich and his prose is beautiful.
I cannot imagine the research he does to write a book, but it must take days and days and days. Every book of his that I have read have kept my attention throughout the entire book. I recommend it!
I like Greg Lies incorporation of regional history and moral ethical issues into his suspense novels. You have to suspend disbelief to believe the sacrifices the main character expects those he loves to go through for in his search for truth.
This is a solid mystery and family saga.
I loved this book and proceeded to read every other one that followed. We need more!
Lles write anther great who-done-it with all the twists & turns you have come to expect from him. It takes you back to a time when feelings and behavior were quite different among many people in the south. Unfortunately some of those lay just under the surface of acceptable behavior still today.
Nhard to put his books down once you start reading them. May appeal to Jack Reacher and Harry Bosch fans.
Great story line! Keeps you on the edge of your seat! All of his books are great!
I read this book many years ago. It was what made me fall in love with Iles’ books and with Penn. I grew up in deep East Texas and am more than familiar with steamy heat and insects but Iles can make even that have a certain attraction. It is obvious he knows and loves the natural world of the South as well as the bottom-eating side of its human inhabitants.
Greg Iles is a wonderful writer and his characterizations are as good as it gets. Would recommend this book and all of his works, bar none. Great respect for this author and his reverence to detail.
I could not wait for the following books.
I love Greg isles. If he wrote a book a day I would read it. His characters are unforgettable and his depiction of the deep South post civil rights is impeccable.
Greg Iles always delivers a good read
I have read all of Greg Iles novels featuring Penn Cage
I enjoyed these books because Greg writes from an authentic
Southern perspective
Greg Ilesvis one of my favorites. I’ve read all his books
