Loved it and love this author!
Penn Cage is the best new central character I’ve read in a long time. I want to read more with him as main character.
The beginning of a series of books featuring the very likeable character Penn Cage. Each story is self-contained (until the final trilogy) and will take you further into the world of Natchez, Mississippi and the life that still exists there. Wonderful characters and compelling world building. I loved the entire series.
Excellent book. It’s wonderful to read a well-written book that not only is a great read, but also, is well edited. I will read more by this author.
This is an incredibly good book, very high on my list of “best books I’ve read.” I loved it, and I’ve shared it many times. It was my introduction to Greg Iles, who is an extraordinary writer and person. You can read synopses or reviews, but none will be adequate to touch the first book you read. Explore his works!
I started with TRUE EVIL and have read everything I can get my hands on from this author. He is never a disappointment. Some of the best books I’ve ever read and I am an avid fan.
I REALLY LIKE GREG ILSES. THIS IS A STORY OF TRAGIC EVENTS THAT ARE BROUGHT TO LIGHT AND MADE RIGHT BY A GREAT CARING CHARACTER.
THIS WILL KEEP YOU WANTING TO READ TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
Great Book!
Fast paced look at history in a different part of the country than I have known. Page turner, love the whose Penn Cage series. Have read they it twice
So complicated it is hard to believe. There are not enough hours in a day or strength of the human body to do what Cage did.
Knows Mississippi and the reman ants of old Southern culture well
Itkept me on the edge of my seat !!!
Cool characters, fast pace, every likable hero! I really enjoyed it!
Fast paced, interesting historical interpretation of the times. Somewhat unrealistic that hero went through all he did and survived!
I’d forgotten how good Yhese books are
A high school romance, a thirty year old murder, lies, betrayal, romance and suspense all find their way into this book. From the FBI to a small Mississippi town from black to white this novel about a 1968 murder of a black man has more twists and turns than you would believe. Very well written, if you like mystery and suspense you will love this book.
Fast read with great characters and story. The Kindle was definitely advantageous because I used to look up several words!!
Very well written. Good characters – not a quick read.
Took a while to get into it – characters are difficult to understand why they did what they did, but listening to Dick Hill made it worthwhile
Always a twist.
