The final installment in the spellbinding Princess Vigilante series takes readers back to the city of Forcadel as Brynna makes her final play to reclaim her kingdom. Full of twists and turns, this final book will keep readers guessing until the very end.
Wow! Brynna has really matured from the impetuous, headstrong teen who ran away from her responsibilities in book 1. As she has learned to be a leader and delegate, the number of people supporting her has increased and this is book has a true ensemble cast. It features many friends from all along her path to become queen. Kieran and Elisha are a couple of my favorites. No matter what they do, Illara seems to always be moved ahead of them in this deadly chess game.
This book ends the major conflict that has been growing throughout the 4 book series and they should be read in order. There is a lot of growth and development through the books. They tell a chronological story. While this story is complete, there are many stories left to tell in this world and I hope the author will be inspired to tell them.
S. Usher Evans is back with the fourth and final book in her superb Princess Vigilante series, and The Queen of Veils is, quite simply, superb. Brynna returns to Forcadel to do what it takes to reclaim her kingdom. I won’t give things away but I will say that readers are in for an exciting time full of twists and turns in a grand conclusion that’s perfectly written and gives this series the send off it deserves. Highly recommended.
Brynna had an intense journey to fight back the Severian queen madness. Mistakes were done, regrets overwhelmed her mind and her heart and sometimes she was even doubting of her capabilities. The enemy had resulted more craftier and deceiver than expected but, Brynna must go on to save and get her people back. She had learned to trust her friends and she would learn to trust herself. Interesting narrations and descriptions that kept me on edge with the intense situations that Brynna had to face. Liked that there were many strong characters and each one had its place in the exciting plot development and added to the story. Well written story with strong emotions, action, suspense, power play, deceit, intrigue, danger, violence, romance and a good dose of strength. I enjoyed it.
– I am on the author’s street team and so I received an ARC copy of the book in kindle format. Although this is the case, it has no influence over my review and rating. –
We have reached the end of this amazing series and I couldn’t be more sad about it. I really love Brynna’s story and character, and hate to see it come to an end. This final installment will not disappoint and I am VERY pleased with how it has ended. It is the perfect ending to a great series.
This book has the same feel as the first book did. It has lots of action and political intrigue that keeps it interesting, and it doesn’t have a lot of romance. I didn’t like the climax as much as I wanted to, but it is exactly how it should have ended in order to stay true to Brynna and her morals. Although Brynna goes through character development and learns valuable lessons that change her, there are certain character traits and morals that never change and I find that to be something that makes a great role model. She allows herself to grow but stays true to herself.
I love the relationships that are formed and the new bonds that seem to be the least expected. It added a lot to the story for me and pulled at my heart strings. I think the relationships that are formed in this book are the best out of the whole series. Evans did a very great job working on them.
A great series,and a particularly great read!
A fantastic addition to this series a read that grabed me from the first page to the last. Its a fast past read with epic scenes, the scenes are written so well that I can picture them in my minds eye. This is a real page turner with twists and turns that keeps you enthralled with this read. I definitely recommend this captivating read. Its a must read.

Alas, we’ve arrived at the final book in the series, and I don’t think I’m ready to let this amazing cast of characters go. Brynna has always been strong and assertive, but through this journey, she’s learned to lean on people. In The Queen of Veils, she has to go against everything she thinks she should do, so she can take back Forcadel from Illara once and for all.
Cut off from Felix, Katarine, and Beata, Brynna has to trust that they are doing their part while she does hers. She can only hope that all the steps that brought them here will be enough to take down Ilara, who always seems to be one step ahead of them. But “…failure is just a stepping stone to greatness.”
Sush, what have you done to me? So many emotions in this one! From book 1, I have adored watching Brynna grow, watching her learn what it means to lead and to depend on those around her. This is such an amazing world with many imaginative magical elements. This book is a sweet goodbye to a world and cast of characters I’ve grown to love. Evans has done a superb job at creating a rollercoaster of emotions with every setback and struggle that has occurred along the way. Well done!
