From #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes the next installment in her Wicked series. The King must have his Queen….Bestowed the forbidden Summer’s Kiss by the King of the Summer fae, Brighton Jussier is no longer just human. What she is, what she will become, no one knows for sure, but that isn’t her biggest concern at the moment. Now Caden, the King, … Caden, the King, refuses to let her go, even at the cost of his Court. When the doorway to the Otherworld is breached, both Brighton and Caden must do the unthinkable—not just to survive themselves, but also to save mankind from the evil that threatens the world.
Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

Intense paranormal romance. I can’t believe it’s been another year since the previous release, The King.
This is an impressive serial and one I became happily addicted to. It’s hard to improve in the magnificent second book, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this installment which I am not sure is the last one or not.
Caden, the fae king, shows overwhelming love and loyalty to the most resilient of humans, Brighton. He really is swoony here. Yet once more it is her who proves her immense strength and honour in all her painful decisions. I was extremely invested in her relationship with Caden, especially due to the bomb dropped at the end of the second novella. Now, it’s the consequences that she has to deal with, and it’s a heavy burden of emotions, politics, and fate. So engaging and powerful! The passion and the heart-felt scenes were glorious.
The mystery around the Winter Court, evil Aric, and the control liquour continues to baffle the fae. I found it to go in twisted ways. For a moment, I was torn with what I thought was a horrible plot twist, yet it really worked well to build danger, tension, and the final turn of events. Well crafted and beyond emotional, this part of the series touches on all the themes that had to be addressed. And I was so happy to be reunited with Tink.
I think it wraps quite well when it comes to the couple, yet the deeper story of the Summer Court and the Winter Court is still open-ended. Wonderful to read as everything by this author is.
4.5 stars
I love to be back in the Wicked world! This novella was the conclusion to Caden and Brighton’s story that I was hoping for. With the perfect mix of swoon, Tink, and surprise.
One thing I love about the 1001 Dark Nights novellas is that each one can be read as a standalone. They are intended to give you a story so interesting you WANT to go back and read more about the characters involved in them. Honestly how could you not want more Brighton and Caden? Now, if you haven’t read The Prince or The King, don’t fret. Jennifer L. Armentrout does an amazing job catching the reader up on past events, so you won’t be lost, but I highly recommend you read them and The Wicked Series at some point because…the first 2 novellas are the beginning of Caden and Brighton’s story. I feel like the three novellas read as one book…so yeah, definitely read them!
Let’s focus on The Queen a bit. It picks up right where The King left off. This novella focused more on Caden and Brighton working coming to a resolution. Of course, nothing comes easy. There are obstacles in the way, and conversations that need to be had that get pushed aside which cause problems, but Caden and Brighton eventually work it out.
Caden loves Brighton so much. He chose her and it was really wonderful to see. Brighton made a decision I didn’t agree with but understood her reasoning. She and Caden grew so much both together and individually, and I enjoyed seeing them grow into the loving couple they were.
I enjoyed this novella so much! There were so many swoony moments from Caden. Lots of great Tink moments, and one really shocking moment but overall it was a great way to wrap up Caden and Brighton’s story!
“I want you to feel good. I want you happy. I want you to feel safe and cherished. I want you to feel comforted and comfortable. I want you to feel love.” Nooooo I wasn’t ready for the ending of the #wickedseries but @jennifer_l_armentrout didn’t disappoint with the way it ended. Caden is everything! He’s fierce, loyal, protective and so damn hot I’m melting thinking about it. As we know Caden is the king of the Summer Fae and *spoiler for the king* he must pick a fae Queen in order to sustain the race. This wouldnt be an issue if, say he didn’t love a *mostly* human girl. Brighton is nobody’s damsel in distress. She’s a kickass heroine that pushes right through her fear to get what she wants. But after recently learning she’s pregnant, with the afore mentioned steamy king’s baby, she’s determined to sacrifice the type of love all girls dream of in order to save the freaking world! Talk about all the pressure?! Add in the fact the Caden isn’t going down with out a fight? And Tink’s commentary.. you’ve got a recipe for swooning and laughter.
I love this one so much. The Queen is an amazing read. Even if you haven’t read every book in A Wicked Trilogy or haven’t read them in a little while you don’t need to worry. You won’t be lost when it comes to Caden and Brighton. Their love is so strong in this quick read. You get everything you are looking for and then some. I love the connection between Brighton and Caden. This is the world of Fae that makes you want to take this adventure and then some. I’m hooked and can’t wait to go back into the Fae world that I have fallen in love with all over again.
4.5 The Queen was an emotional ride from start to finish. It sucks you in from the beginning, especially with how The King left off, and keeps you wanting answers. Brighton and Caden are great characters. They both have been through a lot, and still came out of everything as good, kind people. They are easy to root and care for. And even if you don’t always agree with the decisions they make, you understand the why of it.They’re a really cute and strong couple and I love them. I am so sad that this is the last book in the Wicked series. I’m really going to miss these characters, especially Tink, he constantly cracks me up with his shenanigans. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
