Matt Lancaster is the star quarterback at Bodine College, a small Southern Division II school with an ultra-conservative Dean of Athletics. Matt is also very much in the closet, and he thinks he’s kept his secret well hidden. Until his best friends take him to a happy endings massage parlor and request a male masseuse for him. In walks Trevor Kim, a gorgeous, pierced, tattooed fellow Bodine … Bodine student who does massages–without happy endings–to pay for school after his family kicked him out for being gay. Trevor takes one look at Matt and breaks all his own rules about mixing business with pleasure.
Matt needs to keep his scholarship, win the National Championship, and survive his asshole father. Instead, he falls in love. Trevor needs to accept that the football god is meant to end up with him rather than a perky cheerleader. It’s time for a happy ending for both of them.

Matt Lancaster met his dream guy freshman year. His fantasy was a flesh and blood person in his class. Unfortunately for Matt, he is so far in the closet he can’t even see what color his clothes are. You would think that nowadays that wouldn’t be an issue…You would be wrong.
The Quarterback is a sports romance with all the adventure of firsts, the fun of falling, and the problems closets bring to light. It’s alluring, charming, and hot! I almost forgot to tell you it’s HOT!
Matt and Trevor will make you smile, sigh, and a cuddlewhore! You know you are!
I hope that this author embraces their need to write again. The Quarterback is just the kind of story to make a reader a fan for life.
I’m going to jump right in and say I adored this book! Matt Lancaster, star quarterback and school hero and fellow student Trevor meet in quite unusual circumstances; Matt’s friends think he needs a happy-ending massage and take him to a parlor but little does Matt know, fellow Bodine student Trevor Kim is the masseur and he gets the shock of his life when Trevor attempts the proverbial ‘happy-ending’. The story unfolds and we find that Matt – who’s deep in the closet and coming to terms with idea of being gay – has had a thing for Trevor since having a class with him, instantly intrigued by the edgy, tattooed and gorgeous guy. Matt’s worried that if ever his sexual identity was revealed, he’d be off the team and not to mention the ructions it would cause with his Father… Trevor is out, but this didn’t come without its own traumatic event though, he was disowned by his parents and now has no contact with them and he has to work jobs at the parlor and the local coffee shop – as well as studying – just to keep his head above water. Matt can’t stay away from Trevor and ends up going to his dorm twice a week for private sex ‘lessons’. These two begin to fall deeper and external factors don’t allow them to be together. The story is told really beautifully as I felt for both main characters and understood why they acted as they did, they have so many obstacles in their way before getting the ending they deserved. It was heartbreaking at times, to see something so new and pure having to be sacrificed for the sake of Matt’s place at the school and also the fear of the safety and well-being of his two sisters. My heart broke at times reading this story; it was so very good and made me feel so much and then the ending made it all worthwhile. It was a definite five star read for me and I won’t hesitate in reading more of the author’s works.
After reading a few of the reviews, I was a bit nervous to dive into this read, but I was pleasantly surprised. I did not love this book by any means, but overall it was a good read. I was only able to find this available to borrow from the library, so it may be difficult to find to read. So, first this was a typical in the closet athlete, but he was very sweet and not conceded at all and truly fell for Trevor. They were not bad at communicating either, which was good. The angst was heavy, but honestly their coupling and eventual uncoupling were not drawn out affairs, and I thought it was good how the author described the forgiven as simple, because they are in college and just figuring things out, so there did not need to be a big blow-up. Overall I would recommend this read for someone looking for a college romance between two seniors, one a star athlete and an honors student who is just looking to finish school and head to bigger and better things.

Usually I don’t go for college aged characters, but Matt and Trevor both have old heads on their young shoulders, for very different reasons. Yes Matt comes from money, but there are strings attached. Yes Trevor has suffered after being rejected by his family, but he is pulling himself upwards now.
I loved how things develop between these two! Not just how they initally get together, but how things move along between them, physically as well as emotionally.
This is the first of Blair’s work I’ve listened to, indeed, read so I would like to read or listen to more now!
Greg Boudreaux narrates and the man is a MASTER at his craft! His voices for everyone are easily indentifiable when listening to multi person conversations. The reading voice Boudreaux uses is deep and even and there were no dips or bits I missed when Matt or Trevor got emotional or were thinking (a common theme, trust me!)
4 stars for the book
5 for the narration (cos, you know, Greg!)

This was a great read with a fantastic storyline and amazing characters. Trevor was definitely sweet, handsome and completely understanding. He knew who he was, what he wanted but his life was far from easy. Matt had the weight of the world on his shoulders and his dad didn’t make it any easier. Matt’s image was everything to his father, but his true friends and family accepted him because, to them he was simply Matt. I enjoyed Matt’s friends and teammates Connor, Damian and Ryan a lot. This was a lighthearted read with funny parts, but it was also a realistic read about two people who find love and just want to be accepted for who they are and love who they love freely. I enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
