I was hesitant about this book in the beginning because it wasn’t something I’d usually read it was nothing like the book Black which was the first and only book that I’ve read from Elin Peer but I changed my way of thinking once I got through with the first and second chapter of the book. Anyway all I’m going to say about The Protector is that it’s a must read. Basically don’t judge a book by its cover. Because if you do like I almost did well then you are missing out.
This book was so unexpectedly-refreshing! I thought that the story would be riddled with an over-abundance of completely unbelievable futuristic elements, but it wasn’t! From the very beginning, Peer brings a well-crafted, diligently thought out story line that captured and held my attention all the way through to the end. The characters were likeable, quirky, often comical and had just enough bafflement in the “traditional romance” department as to be completely adorable. The chemistry between Christina and Boulder was galactically-stellar and hotter than a solar flare!
This was “Battle of the Sexes” done right! I was so enthralled with this story, that I finished the book in one sitting. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this novel, and I can’t wait for the next one in the series. Peer has found a new and dedicated fan in me!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
I looooved this one. I couldn’t put the book down. The plot was amazing, the writting is amazing, the characters are amazing. I seriously recomend this book.
If I have to find something I didn’t like that much would be the sex scenes. Or should I say the lack of them. Now here is where I let you know that I am a 30 something year old woman with a normal libido and you know….. i like me some steamy sex scenes….. *blushing* This book had none. When there was any it was finished in 3 sentences.
The other thing I didn’t like was that it doesn’t have an Epilogue although I get it. I wanted to know what happened with Alex and Christina but for the story’s sake I know I can’t. It will give away what happens next in the other books of the series. OMG I can’t wait to read the next ones.
Note to self: Re-read this in the future.
