When an ex-boyfriend turns Jayne’s night out into a living hell, he has no choice but to make a deal with two hot, hunky, would-be bodyguards. The promise? If they can get him out unscathed, Jayne will do anything they want… escape plan on the fly—find the biggest, strongest, and thirstiest man in the club, and seduce him into giving Jayne safe passage home. Easy. Over the last few years, in a bid to mask the pain of loss, Jayne’s bedded more men who fit that description than he can count, and he knows he won’t have any trouble bagging one tonight.
Until one becomes two, and suddenly, nothing’s so certain anymore.
Everett’s secret relationship with his lifelong best friend is on its last legs. The promise? It might be what saves them.
In love with a man who can never give him what he needs, Everett sees the writing on the wall. While he and his boyfriend, Caleb, have made an arrangement that keeps them together, they’ll need something more if they want their relationship to last. Nights spent at the club finding beautiful men to take home and share are nearing their end. With a promotion on the horizon and Everett’s weekends about to be swallowed by work, to save the love they share they’ll need more than a one-night stand—they’ll need someone who’ll make them want to commit.
And when Everett lays his eyes on the confident, intelligent, hilarious, and oddly glittery stranger who approaches them one night with an unusual invitation, he has a feeling their search might be over.
Blindsided by a shocking revelation, Caleb’s determined to spend each day like it’s his last. The promise? If it means another night of fun shared with the man he loves, he’ll give it all he’s got.
When a night out with his boyfriend ends with a steamy proposition from a gorgeous stranger, Caleb doesn’t think life can get any better. Still reeling from news that broke him over a year ago, Caleb is eager to distract himself with carefree fun, and there’s nothing he likes better than seeing Everett have a good time.
Only there’s something in their perfect stranger’s eyes that speaks to him—something he can’t shake.
And something that leaves him ready to defend both Everett and their glittery conquest when what should have been the hottest night of their lives goes wrong.
The Promise is a 145,000 word contemporary omegaverse novel featuring a quirky group of single dads, a glitter arms deal of epic proportions, a scene where cosmetics are applied in a way that’ll leave you blushing, a metric f*ckton of fun, and three men who discover that love can’t be divided—but that it can be multiplied.

I love this story for so many reason. One I really like meeting Jayne in the last story. Two I love the family connections with the single dads. There is so much that happens in this story and so much to figure out. I love the fact that Caleb and Everett bring Jayne into their love. I also love the sass that is Shep and baby Parker such a great little baby.
I listened to the Audible version and it was so well done.
MMM Romance and Danger
Three very different men discover exactly what they need to make their relationship work.
Despite trying to keep secrets from other single dads, save each other from danger, and raise children, love wins!
Humor definitely helps.
The Single Dad’s Support Group series is one of my all time favourite series – EVER. And Michael Ferraiuolo’s narration is the absolute cherry on the top of this perfect ice cream sundae. The Promise is the story of Jayne – single Dad with rotten luck and a worse ex. Along comes Caleb and Everett who, while they love each other deeply, are not quite enough on their own. The circumstances of their meeting and connection builds such a brilliant story that I wonder at Piper’s brain sometimes! Heaps of laughs, some tears and some furthering of the overall storyline makes this book pivotal in the series. This is not a standalone and must be read after the other books in the series (and trust me – they are just as good!).
Independent reviewer for Gay Romance Reviews, I was gifted the audio version of this book.
This is book 5 in the Single Dad Support Group series, and while it’s not totally necessary for you to have read books one through four before this one, I would recommend you do. There is much referenced here that happens in the previous books and it would give you a much better picture of this group of men and how they support each other. And also, I said so!
Because I bloody LOVE this series! Granted, The Proposal was a bit lacking something, but I still enjoyed. The entire series has kept me riveted and I hate that I have to wait for the next one to come out in audio. I don’t like to switch between listening and reading in a series, i find it affects my enjoyment.
Anyways!
We met Jayne in book 3, however, I didn’t click til book 4 who he was and where he fit into everything. Everett is Gage’s big brother and Caleb is Aaron’s twin (book 2) It took me a while here to place them, to be honest but you know, it’s been a while!
Jayne’s ex blindsides him on a night out and Everett and Caleb come to his rescue. There follows a delightful tale of two men who aren’t supposed to love each other realising that Jayne is the one thing, the one PERSON they have been looking to make their lives totally complete.
The story line dealing with Jayne’s ex aside, it really is a beautiful love story! I mean I’ve loved most of this series, and Mal and Vincent’s story is as close to a love story as we got before. Oh don’t get me wrong, there is romance, and passion, but I found with these three? Because Caleb and Everett are already in a committed relationship and they ALREADY love each other, adding Jayne into the mix and he really is the icing on their cake.
There is a huge amounf of chemistry between these guys. Even before there is any kind of sexual connection, there is an emotional one. Caleb and Everett think, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY before they get Jayne into bed, that he is their ONE. I mean, I don’t ususally like such rapid movement of such feelings, but cos of their already formed bond, both Caleb and Evertt can see, they can FEEL that Jayne is who they need.
But when they DO get Jayne down and dirty?? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, I did not see that one coming! No ma’am I did not! There is a persona portrayed here, for all three men, and mixing in Jayne flips all that on its head and stomps it away! PHEW!!
I love that jayne found the strength to fight Bastian, his ex. To finally be able to stand up to him and put an end to his trouble.
I loved that Caleb and Everett take to Jayne’s son Parker, and to Shep, Jayne’s younger brother, so well. Being confirmed childless batchelors one minute, then dad to a baby and a teenager would throw most men off, but these two excelled themselves!
Michael Ferraiuolo narrates this series. I love his work.
The voices for each men are different and clear, and the Single Dad guys’ voices carry consistantly through the series. He reading voice is deep and even, and I can just wile away many hours listening to his work. He gets over all the deep sated love that Caleb and Everett have for each other, and how much they NEED Jayne in their lives. He gets over how much it hurts Everett what Caleb is doing with his dad, or not doing as the case may be. He gets over how Jayne was so deeply hurt by Bastian, and how much he worked at getting free.
I just LOVE Ferraiuolo’s narration of these books, I really do!
But now?? Now I gotta wait. . . .and wait. . . .and WAIT for book 6. KnotMyProblem needs his story and I so bloody need it I could burst! BURST I tell ya! So HURRY!!
5 stars for the book
5 stars for the narration

Loving Jayne, Caleb AND Everett (an audio review)
I adored Jayne in the last Single Dad Support Group book. Snarky, defiant, glitter-obsessed. But those things hid a dark past and when Harlow suggested he join the online support group, Jayne, with a five-month-old, decided to reach out. Glitter Doctor’s arrival in the group caused quite a stir. Glit as he quickly became known, fit right in. And thus the group expanded. When his younger brother Simon moved to LA to be with Harlow, Jayne found himself reaching out to the other single dads living in Aurora to ask for help. And they stepped up. This new book is about closing some circles, so it eventually became apparent he had more connections that just the online ones.
Despite his horrible experience with his ex, Jayne still likes to lose himself in drink and random hookups. One night he’s out at a club and things go sideways. Fortunately two gorgeous men are there to rescue him. What he doesn’t know is Caleb and Everett are best friends. As they are both alphas, their attraction to each other is cute, but neither is getting all his sexual needs met. If they come across a willing omega, they’re happy to bring him home. But nothing has ever taken hold. They’ve never met a glitter-chested omega who struck their fancy.
Until Jayne.
But when things keep going wrong in Jayne’s life, the men are there to step in. At first it’s just a support system they’re offering, but soon it turns to more. Jayne is overwhelmed by his role as father to Parker and guardian to his younger brother Shep. He has an important job, and can’t afford to take time off work to handle the drama. Enter Caleb and Everett. Caleb is essentially a rootless playboy who lives off his trust fund while Everett is destined to take over the family business. They’re not hurting for money, so helping Jayne get back on his feet is a no-brainier. Oh, and the sex? HAWT.
Things come to a head and the world clarifies. Each man faces his past and charts a path into the future. A path that includes each other.
Needless to say I loved this book. I’ve loved everyone in the series and can’t wait until Knot My Problem – the last single in the Single Dad Support Group – gets his happy ending. Oh and glitter. Always more glitter. Finally I’ll mention Michael Ferraiuolo. He’s always a pleasure to listen to and between Ms. Scott’s words and his delivery, there are always laughs aplenty. So…waiting impatiently for the next book…
The Promise is the fifth book in the Single Dad Support Group series, a contemporary, omegaverse romance. The book does feature a poly relationship (m/m/m) so if that is not your cup of tea then move on. I absolutely love this series and was incredibly excited for this next installment.
This book deals with some heavy issues revolving around an obsessive and dangerous ex-boyfriend turned stalker, and the trauma and healing that comes from escaping an abusive relationship. Each of the three men in this relationship will have to face their own insecurities and work through these issues, both as individuals and together, before they can find their happy ever after. The romance was sweet with a lot of humor, sass, and incredibly hot sex scenes. I also really enjoyed the edge of danger that was threaded throughout the plot as the stalker became more and more obsessed. Overall, this was a wonderful read.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo who did a great job with the narration. Michael has narrated the previous books in this series and has a done a wonderful job making sure to keep the voices of the characters pretty consistent throughout the series. I had no trouble identifying each character throughout the narration and found it pretty easy to follow along in the story. Michael also did a great job with the performance and put just the right amount of flair and energy into the book without making it over the top. The audiobook production was well done and made for an enjoyable listening experience.
Audiobook review:
Overall – 5

Suspenseful story and a triad romance!
The Single Dad Support Group is an amazing series. I have loved every one of the books and Michael Ferraiuolo’s fantastic performances shouldn’t be missed by anyone who is a fan of the series. I think you’ll probably enjoy this series best if you read the books in order.
This is Jayne’s story and we finally learn why he’s named Jayne! There’s lot of glitter and humor in this story but also some drama due to Jayne’s unbalanced ex. The triad also gets up to some pretty hot and sexy times. Because this is a long audiobook it wasn’t possible to listen to it straight through like I usually do, but I managed to do it in only two days. Now I’m ready for the next one.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
Hilarious Series
I’ve read this series and this book back in February 2020, but now rereading/listening on audible and loving it all over again.
The Single Dads Support Group are a group who started off messaging each other through the Internet but then finally met for a wedding, now they have a baby sitting support group for the ones who are local.
Jayne who is a single dad to Parker but brother to teenager Shep, is new to the Single Dads group. They are hiding from Jaynes ex, Sebastian, but trying to love life like normal.
This story has lots of snark, humour and laugh out loud moments.
These books contain MPREG, Humour, Alpha/Omega, Glitter and have HEA.
Couldn’t recommend them enough.

I loved this book! I think this is one of my favorites in this series! I really like Jayne because he has been so strong and supportive of his brothers while juggling fatherhood! I love how Caleb, use to being reckless needed someone in his life to keep him grounded and thinking of the future, and Everett’s need to care and support someone he loves is extremely important. I am so glad that they found each other in this book! I love the connection in the single dad support group and enjoy their banter!
I love Piper Scott’s Single Dad series and it just keeps getting better. Jayne, Caleb, and Everett’s story is my favorite one so far. The characters are well-developed and the story is moving, romantic, and hot all at the same time.
