it teaches and prepares you for a productive day… a productive life. For me. it was the best self help book that I have read in years. Here are some basic points that have helped me focus on taking myself out of that dreamy world … I am between an Ostrich & a Chicken !! … : Here are some things you can do to help avoid procrastination so that you can gain more focus quickly:

1. Identify your triggers: There are actually different types of procrastinators and knowing which one can help you to break the cycle.
Perfectionists will not get the work done because they know they cannot do it perfectly, or they are always waiting for the perfect approach or timing. Tasks are never done because, to them, things are never perfect enough.
An ostrich prefers to stay in the dreaming stage. When they do this, they do not have to work for real or deal with any stress, and they feel that the dreaming gives them a sense of achievement because they are envisioning their big plans. Unfortunately, those plans stay dreams and don’t really ever accomplish anything.
Self-saboteurs think that by doing nothing, bad things will not happen. They are worried about making mistakes or doing things wrong, therefore, they choose to do nothing. Of course, this is ineffective for anyone trying to achieve any meaningful goals.
Daredevils believe that by waiting until they reach a deadline is a way to make them push to do better. They believe that starting early is not important and that it will sacrifice their time for pleasure.
Chickens do what they feel they should do, rather than thinking through what they should be doing. The teachings in the book have helped me so much… I have completed DIY projects in my house that I have been putting off for 20 years. This book has been a life changer xx

These two books contained a wealth of tips, strategies, and useful information for creating a more efficient, peaceful, mindful life. The root causes of procrastination were discussed, as were goal setting, how to limit distractions, the different types of focus, organization and clutter, growth vs fixed mindsets, using a timer, batch processing vs transactional processing, avoiding meetings (one of my favorite hobbies already) and ways to keep them short when that isn’t possible, mindfulness, why multitasking is bad, the importance of sleep and exercise, how the different strategies discussed can be tailored to improve individual situations, emotional intelligence, proactive vs reactive, minimalism, etc., etc. It additionally includes Olivia Telford’s Minimalist as a bonus, which I’ve also read and can highly recommend. These books were written in a friendly, helpful tone, and I think just about everyone would benefit from reading them.
