I am so glad I found this series on B.B.! It is such an original story with amazing characters and a fabulous setting. I highly recommend all the books in the series!
Didn’t want to put it down,
Loved “City of Shadows” too. Love Zafon’s writing, the characters, the subtle wit, the stories, the ambiance of Barcelona.
While some consider his books YA, I believe they are very well suited for adults. Interesting premise, great characters, I found this novel hard to put down. I truly have enjoyed all of Zafon’s works-literary, intriuging, well paced with a touch of the supernatural!
Beautifully written.
Another in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series no. 2 I think although Zafon declares the order dies not matter.
The writing is luxurious, the story deep and soulful – it is like trying to describe any great art – one is left with a feeling particular to oneself.
Fantastic! I’ve read this book four times now and I see something new each time! And the sequel to this book fantastic also: Angels Game and The Prisoner of Heaven.
A great read. Will read more of this writer.
