He is one frog that she definitely wants to kiss
The Princess and The SEAL is the third book in the Heroes Ever After series by Alana Albertson. It is the first book in this series that I have read so I was not sure what to expect as I have read other books by her which are not based on a fairytale. I found this book to be quite delightful and fun……….along with steamy and sensual.
I am not going to lie as the story itself is quite predictable and I did roll my eyes a few times but it is a nice piece of fluffy fun to read in between reading darker or grittier stories. Overall I liked this book and the characters. Plus I always love Alana writing style.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The best laid plans…
Ryan is a SEAL, who lives by a strict code of honor while on duty; however, he completely forgets it when he isn’t. Rescue the “damsel” in distress, of course; however, his plans for a “reward” are thwarted when he discovers she is a princess. Their romance is short lived; however, when she can’t get out of her arranged marriage. Or can she? Can they both find the happiness and love they deserve? You’ll truly enjoy finding out for yourself.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was a good read from a new author for me. I did find Giselle a little bit of a pill but she gradually grew on me, not by much but a little.
Will the Princess and the SEAL put their duty first
I loved the steam coming off Ryan and Princess Giselle almost from the start when Ryan comes to Giselle’s rescue because that is what a SEAL does. Giselle wants to have her last chance of freedom before her arranged marriage in a month. Ryan wants to explore the history of Normandy during his week vacation. What happens is anything but expected when Ryan and Giselle explore the area and Paris. Add in an incident with Giselle’s reckless fiance who you hate from the instant Giselle mentions him. After spending the next week in San Diego, you will be rooting for Giselle to break off her engagement. But when duty calls, what will the Princess and the Frogman do? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down.
Royally smoothing out the rough edges
The Princess and the SEAL (Heroes Ever After) by Alana Alberston is a well written military romance with fairy tale undertones. These characters drew me in and didn’t let go til the very end.
Ryan and Giselle, as opposites as one can get, are more than made for each other in spite of their overwhelming differences. Ryan is truly a rough, alpha playboy who finds himself behaving in unusual ways around Giselle, and not just because she’s a real Princess. Giselle, is the sweetest thing! At a disadvantage for having lived such a sheltered life, she finds herself beyond her abilities to manage and take care of herself.
The plot of this book was a sort of tennis match. Both of these characters talking themselves into and out of things constantly. Never a dull emotional moment. And once they both let their guards down, the sexual tension explodes in live technicolor chemistry.
Overall, a wonderful modern day fairy tale when the frog really does become the Prince Charming with the Princess and a HEA.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
