This was such a great story about 2 people who are running from their futures. Alex is forced into becoming the Laird for his people before he’s ready and Alana is a fae princess who decides to hide out in the human realm to avoid her responsibilities. However, after these 2 meet they fall for each other. They’re from 2 completely different worlds with responsibilities to their people. Can they make it work while fulfilling their obligations?
Great read, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
This is one of the first historical romances I’ve read. I wasn’t disappointed to say the least. Their is a bit magic and a whole lot of love and romance. I loved the storyline and characters. Definitely worth reading. I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the Highland series.
I love highlander stories and add in the paranormal element of the Fae realm and I’m in seventh heaven! Alana and Alex’s story is incredible. I loved the risks taken in this story and the immense love portrayed in this book.
Alana is the Scottish Fae princess. She’s bored and decides to visit the Human Realm. While there she meets Laird Alex MacLeod. Alex meets a fair-haired beauty and loses his heart.
Fun, historical romance with a touch of magic! Decent storyline though it did seem to jump around. Great characters, who were fun and engaging. Worth the read!
I’m torn on how I should rate this.
On one hand if I’m going based on the story, this book would get a full 5 stars. I’m a sucker for historical reads…Then to add in a Scottish man….my heart is melted and I’m sold.
Both Alex and Alana are running from their futures and responsibilities. Alex was named Laird before he was ready. He can’t understand why his father would put the health of his love ahead of his duties. Alana is a fae princess who’s father is pressuring her to finally pick a suitor. Hiding in the human realm puts her in front of her destiny, but a human and fae having relations is forbidden, especially with a father who is bloodthirsty and hates humans.
Now if I’m rating this book on ease of read or the flow I’d have to rate it 3 and a half stars. The author jumps ahead in time at great intervals without any kind of bold font in front of the chapter letting the reader know she is jumping ahead in time. At one point the book goes 9 months ahead in time without pause and Alana is all of a sudden giving birth! Then years pass and all of a sudden it’s 10 years into the future!
this romantic tale is a spellbinding page turner . Alana, a feisty fae princess and Alex a young Laird, although from different realms fall deeply in love. Filled with danger and magic the reader is drawn into this enchanting romance. Wishing for a happy ending I couldn’t put it down and am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
