A sweet and sizzling romance novella by International Bestselling Author, Nikita Slater.

She’s a Princess.
She loves clothes, jewels and causing mischief.

They have nothing in common.

He loves … ex-mercenary.
He loves weaponry, security and killing.
Yet the day he let her go was the worst day of his life.
He learned his lesson.
Now, he’s going to collect his Princess and never let her go.
Together they discover how powerful opposites can be. They travel the world, dodge palace guards and reunite with old friends. Will the Princess and her mercenary find happiness or heartbreak ever after?
Note: This is a sweet and sizzling Nikita romance novella. This book follows the romance of secondary characters from Capturing Victory. Though this book can be read as standalone, for the best reader experience, it is recommended to read Capturing Victory first.

I was so looking forward to Ndari’s story after meeting her in Capturing Victory, and it did not disappoint. A quick, fun, spicy read, my favorite part was how, from the very start, Ndari is unflappable and generally cooperative, but has certain requirements of her kidnapper, and she puts Keane through his paces. Keane is 100% grumpy, possessive alpha. Will they have any more than a (hot) physical connection when the adrenaline of being on the run wears off? Highly recommend.
Fun cameos from old friends.
This is an amazing, sweet story between a princess, Ndari and an ex-mercenary, Keane. It seems impossible that people from such different worlds can ever make it work but these two fit together really well even with their contrasting personalities and lifestyles. And, of course, Keane is insistent that he can never let Ndari go.
Keane is possessive and ruthless in capturing Ndari for himself even though he does not really have to do much as Ndari wanted to be with him but was simply unsure about his intentions.
Ndari is a strong heroine who knows what she wants and is determined to make a life for herself beyond what she can do for her brother in completing her royal duties. Keane re-enters her life just at the right moment and they begin to realize just how much they fit into each other’s lives.
Nikita Slater has created two beautiful characters in Keane and Ndari as they are both flawed but when they are together in this story, they create something special.
A fun, witty, romantic, HAWT and wonderful way to escape reality!
In typical Nikita fashion, we are given great characters and a well developed world that just lets you sink right it.
I highly recommend this book and this author. I absolutely cannot wait for her next book and I’ve definitely gone back to re-read her other books. I’m just not done reading her yet!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
if roman was able to get a story then keane would make the driven heart series complete.
rugged mercenary of Ivans and the princess who kept xsource (jaya) company. it was endearing to learn of keane’s history and his mom being a part of this story and the strange yet close bond with ndara and her brother. the ending that placed them all together was also beautiful. cute little novella
I absolutely loved this book!! The banter was great, the characters were developed and they stole my heart!! I couldn’t put this book down! Keane definitely deserves his place in my harem!!
Super sweet love story!
I loved every second of this super sweet and a bit thrilling love story! Ndari and Keane’s love story is an adventure of sweetness, utter passion and intense emotion for one another. Their interactions are intense, witty and full of so much love! And their chemistry just oozes off the pages. Ndari will forever keep Keane on his toes!
This story is highly entertaining and so very enjoyable to read. Such a fantastic lighthearted story from beginning to end! A must read.
I was quite tickled by Ndari. She was definitely high spirited, spoiled ( but not malicious), and endearingly naïve about the world outside of royal life. Keane is level headed and calm except when it comes to his princess which just added to the heat factor between this couple. This was a sweet romantic read with some adventure and spice that kept me engaged to the last page.
Oh my goodness! This was so sweet of a read. Love Keane and Ndari charm. It was not as intense and as dark as her other books this author has written but it was still a sweet, lovely and funny read.
Nikita Slater has decided to write a softer story and I am in love with it! This author seems to be able to write anything. This book did not disappoint. I love the taboo/opposite stories and this book hit all of my buttons. Absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for HOT read.
The Most Entertaining Book I Have Ever Read…5+Stars….
This was a fantastical story. I absolutely loved it! Her Royal Highness, the Princess Ndari is kidnapped by the good-looking Irish mercenary Keane while she is in the jewel room picking out jewelry to wear, stash or whatever. The Princess kept me smiling the entire book, she is carefree, happy go lucky, loves her jewels, and everything that has to do with being pampered. You never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. Keane was just as entertaining. The author did a fantastic job developing both of these characters. I can’t say enough of what a fabulous story this was. I hated to see it end. It will definitely be on my list of re-reads. Read it today!
Wow!!! This was a short sweet, loving with a little action story and I loved it. I loved Keane and Ndari story. This was just a fun feel story and I enjoyed every minute of it.
This is an easy, lovely, thoroughly engaging novella from one of my favorite authors. During this rather stressful time of Covid-19, this was a nice escape into a fun world. While there was some angst sprinkled throughout the read, for the most part this is an engaging and heartfelt love story.
Ndari, a princess in a small country, is secretly loved by Keane, a hardened mercenary. He decides that she is going to be his and his alone. The story unfolds from there. Adventures, world travel, family, villains and cohorts all come together to give us a good story that entertains very well.
Nikita Slater is a good writer, one of my favored authors actually, so I knew she would deliver when I started the story. I wasn’t disappointed (I never am with her). Her world building is excellent, her characters engaging, interesting and real, and the plot flows smoothly from beginning to end. If you’re looking to escape our current woes for a while and are not really wanting angst and tension, this is the story for you. Highly recommended.
I would preface this review by saying that this book is not your typical Nikita Slater book. This was her writing outside her usual norm. The Princess and Her Mercenary is something else. It’s something sweet and delightful but it still has the touch of dangerous romance we all find to love with Nikita Slater’s books.
And honestly, I am loving this side. I am loving that some of her novellas have this sweet and funny side aside from being all dark and dangerous. I loved that she chose to balance it with this novella because it perfectly fits both main characters especially our heroine. And it’s awesome how I am now seeing the other side of Keane/Linton in this novella. Both main characters are poles apart in terms of their social status but they just perfectly fit together, it works.
The whole time I was reading this, I had a silly smile on my face. Yes, it’s quite funny and sweet. But do not mistake that as Nikita going soft. She really ain’t soft with this one. This is just the author writing true to her characters’ personalities. The outcome is realy amazing and if you read this one, you’d know what I mean!
“I’ll slay whatever dragon you need and set its corpse at your feet.”
Let’s be honest after reading that sentence, who wouldn’t want to read about this alpha!!! This book was a little bit on the lighter side of Nikita’s usual writing style yet I loved it. It had all the qualities you love in her writing, but a little bit on the sweeter/gentler side.
“…face to face, looking him in the eyes. It was so intimate. It spoke to her. He spoke to her, even when he wasn’t speaking”
This book was full of action, steaminess, alphas, running, hiding, forgiveness and all things bling.
This book came at a time where the world we live in was like nothing we’ve never experienced. This was a welcomed escape!
“Thank you for giving me the things in my life that I didn’t know I was missing until you gave them to me.”
I found this story light and refreshing. I loved the witty banter and Ndari’s endless shenanigans. Keane’s love and devotion to his Princess is enduring and the hoops she makes him jump through had me laughing out loud throughout the story. An entertaining read!
This book was not your typical Nikita Slater book but was just as fabulous as her other books.
Keane is a mercenary, and unapologetically so. He goes in, gets the job done, and gets out. But he has set his sights on a Princess, a bratty royal has captured his heart.
This story is told with wit and over the top instalove. Fantastic read.
