Too filthy to be a fairytale…The tabloids say I’m alpha, arrogant, and relentless. I can live with that because I’m Maximillian Rochartè, Prince of Bellèno and I make royal problems go away. The monarchy borrowed millions from shady oligarchs and loans are coming due. I convince a billionaire to fork over a fortune in exchange for marrying his daughter, Lady Cici to my playboy brother. Cici … daughter, Lady Cici to my playboy brother. Cici needs a few weeks to clear up loose ends but by then someone will be murdered and dumped into the Black Sea as fish food. Probably me.
I hire Vivian, an out of work American cocktail waitress — who could be Cici’s sexier, funnier, smarter twin — to impersonate her for a few weeks. Our chemistry’s crazy and I can’t help but proposition her relentlessly. In spite of my dirty, filthy, all consuming thoughts about what I’ll do to her once I get her in the sack — I transform Vivian into a ‘lady.’
Now we’re back in Bellèno, weeks have passed, and Cici’s a no-show. I know in the depths of my deceitful heart that I’m falling in love with Vivian. Unfortunately, my brother is too…

I pick up Vivian’s boot that has just bounced off my face after she threw it at my head. “Hold on, Cinderella. You forgot your glass slipper.” I can’t help but admire her bare leg: long, lean, toned.
“It’s pleather. Burn it,” she says. “Oh crap, did I hit you in the eye?”
“Yes, Rocky. I’ve endured worse.” I imagine both of her gorgeous legs draped over my shoulders as I… and I’m struck with the most brilliant idea. “It looks like you’re out of a job. Interested in a new one?”

Great book, great characters and can’t wait for the next book!
To believe in happily ever after
Vivian was working as a waitress to pay for rent and make sure her uncle could stay in the hospital he was in. When new co owners started making work hard she got fired. Max was there trying to find funding for his countries problems. Vivian looks a lot like the woman they need to marry his brother. The Crown Affair begins.
I absolutely love Vivian and Max.
It was a predictable read but in times like we are living in helpful to keep your mind on something else.
Boring only got 1 chaper
Didn’t care for it. The main characters acted completely without reason – why would any girl do what this main character did without asking a few simple questions first. She was supposed to be a bad-ass to begin with but that was no where to be seen as soon as she was engaged as a “stand-in”. Made no sense. Big holes in the story as well – how can someone who “resembles” the woman she was supposed to stand in for completely not be found out by the woman’s best friends, parents, people she’s known all her life. Completely improbable. Don’t recommend it.
Didn’t keep my interest
Funny, hot.
Loved the ending……
Happily ever after but with a twist. wishing one had quirky friends like that.
made the reading light and wonderful but with enough quirks to make it a page turner.
Okay, so initially I was enjoying the book. It’s cute, characters are cute, seem somewhat intelligent, writing is easy to read, author didn’t go for big words to try to impress the reader. Sex scene was hot, etc. But then main character got all uppity and angry. That was fine, I thought she overreacted, but okay, I could still buy into her reaction. And then, it happened again and I thought it was silly and ridiculous. Also, the idea that her BFFs didn’t recognize it wasn’t the real Cici? Um, really? Even superficial people aren’t that stupid. Final straw in the believability department was that her own father didn’t recognize that it wasn’t her. Or rather, Cici’s father thought Vivi was his daughter. C’mon, really? Okay, the story was easy to read, but, um, I don’t know. I checked that I recommend reading the book, but I’m not really sure. I gave it 4 stars, but it probably didn’t deserve that many.
Interesting idea but kind of unbelievable. Like the real girls dad wouldn’t recognize her… and while the physical attraction was explained, there never really seemed like there was an emotional one. She kept walking away from him when he was being a jerk and then acting like he never said horrible things.
I have read this book before under a different title and was halfway through it before I realized it. Finished it again thinking maybe they changed it but …no.
That was disappointing. Liked the story but a little irritating at times. Some good characters.
Good book. Easy, sexy read.
Fairytale ending!
This was a fun story with witty characters for entertainment.
The princes playbook was a bit obvious in the romance portion, but through the book i couldn’t guess how the author was possibly going to fix her twisted mess to get happily ever after. Good read!
I absolutely loved this book. This was a first read by this author for me and it will not be my last. I could not put this book down. Max was so great and I was rooting for him with all of the angst of him trying plan everything and watch the woman he loves be with his brother. Vivian is a wonderful stand in and what will happen with her and CIci. This story had many twists and turns.
I cannot wait for the next installment of this series.
This is my second book by Pamela DuMond, and while it was a little bit different from ‘The Client’ it was still a great read. There were a lot of twist and turns in Max and Vivian’s story, which is a love triangle angle full of heartache and deceit. I can’t wait to see how this angsty romance plays out in the next installment.
