Sebastian
As soon as she won our first verbal sparring match, I knew Allison was the woman for me.
Being a Prince, it was rare for someone to stand up to me. But Allison was different. She was strong and intelligent as she was beautiful, I knew I had to make her mine.
We were so happy, but now that she’s disappeared, I’ll use all my resources to find her and bring her back where she belongs.

Alison is a diplomat. She meets Prince Sebastian at a diplomatic conference. He had been left to deal with everyone because that is what his father requested. Sebastian has a reputation as a partygoer and Alison doesn’t think much of him at all. A gorgeous feisty diplomat. A very handsome prince. A secret love affair. What a wonderful story and I loved it.
Audiobook: It was a cute story. I liked that it didn’t pack everything into a week’s time, allowing a more natural progression for the events to occur. The extended epilogue were also nice peeks into the HEA. I enjoyed the sound of the narrator’s voice. It was occasionally hard to tell if she was in the male or female POV but that’s common with a single narrator.
The Prince’s Baby
By: Mckenna James
Narrated by: Holly Holt
Sebastian is soon to be the King and if his father has anything to do with it, his bride will be chosen for him. But he does find his soulmate, when she stands up to him at a conference in Wyvernbank. Alison is his equal in so many ways, and they are immediately attracted to each other. It’s that push pull effect that makes their meeting so genuine. Now pregnant with his child and in hiding, she does what she can to remain under his radar. But why? And what will happen when his finds her? Sebastian is a swooney prince, very accommodating and you can’t help but love him(well, there are a few scenes he was not so lovable). Alison is a strong willed, woman, but I for the life of me wanted to shake her a couple of times! I think that is what makes this book good. I was invested in the characters as they found their happiness. It’s an emotional ride, a few bumps and curves, but the story is beautiful. I have to make a shout out to Klaus, her assistant whom I loved. What a character!
Holly Holt has a fantastic voice and I loved her narration of this. She found that dignitary sound, with a great accent and made Sebastian come alive. Each voice is specific and easy to hear and she made the story flow. A great performance for my ears!

Having read her books before, I find that I like this one better than the previous one and thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Allison is a diplomat working for another kingdom but had to attend a conference in the Kingdom of Wyvernbank. Sebastian is sent to the conference where his father wanted him to take over as he is next in line. Sebastian became attracted to her at first glance. They do enter into a brief affair, but their whirlwind week is cut short when a political rival threatens Allison and she flees back to her country. But she didn’t come home on her own and found out she’s having a royal baby! Now Sebastian is working to find out what is going on but can he fix what is keeping them apart?
This is a new author to me and I will be reading more from her. Her characters were intriguing and the storyline was captivating. The only downside to this book was it took me a while to get into the story but once I did it was smooth sailing from there. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster and I really detested how Sebastian and his advisor treated Alison, but I could see from their side also. They had a whirlwind affair that had to be kept discreet due to the political climate of the country. Once Sebastian finds out about Alison’s predicament will they all be together? Will they get their HEA?
The Prince’s Baby by Mckenna James is the story of Crown Prince Sebastian and Allison Smith.
Allison is a Diplomat working at a conference in the Kingdom of Wyvernbank. Sebastian is sent to the conference when he father chooses not to attend. When Allison is giving her statement, Sebastian becomes more taken with her. They do enter into a brief affair but then Allison is blackmailed away from Sebastian. Now Sebastian is working to find out what is going on but can he fix what is keeping them apart? This book reminded me of some of my first romance books that I used to read that brought me into the Romance world of books.
Enjoyed their story.
Diplomat Allison Smith, attache of Sunyata is attending a conference in the Kingdom of Wyvernbank, a nation who has a long history of war with Sunyata. She hopes to forge a plan that will save the people of Wyvernbank from the drought conditions that plaque it and possible migration of people to Sunyata. King Regis has chosen not to attend but, rather, send Crown Prince Sebastian who he is grooming to be king. Sebastian listens to her presentation and is struck by her intelligence and the logistics of her idea. They work together and, during the course of doing so, have an immediate connection that becomes so much more in just a short time. It was a little difficult for me to buy into it but they do continue their affair and it becomes insignificant. They spend stolen minutes and hours together, hopefully in secret. Someone is determined to get his hands on the monarchy for himself and will go to any lengths to get Allison out of the picture. He blackmails her with a slight mistake she made as a teenager and she knows that she has to leave to save Sebastian’s reputation. He misunderstands her leaving as proof that she doesn’t love him but doesn’t take the time to check into it. With his resources, it is the logical thing he should have and could have done. Ali does keep a secret from him but, again, it’s to save his reputation. When he discovers her secret from the PI he has employed, he immediately goes to her and shares in the happy reality. But there’s no feeling for her. He still harbors some suspicion about her and that she doesn’t love him. He’s not thinking with his common sense and that troubled me a bit. When he does redeem himself, he does in a spectacular way! This is a very well-written story and the timeline that McKenna James employs is original and brilliantly done! The journey to their HEA is filled with the love and emotion you’d want to see with this sweet commoner and royalty story! Now if Klaus and Patrick could have their own story. A real touch of humor and class!
ONE THRILLING EXPERIENCE!!!
OMG! One chaotic ride with a bounty of swirling emotions bursting forward front and center. A sizzling storyline and flaming plot launch this little gem to life flawlessly. Twixt and twined and put through the wringer. The drama, uncertainty and suspense thrust bombshell together piece by piece wonderfully. Struggling through all the trials and tribulations, along with a few twists and turns catapults this little jewel together sleek, shiny and tight. A churning vortex of inadvertent events and vexing circumstances keep you flipping page after page. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with such depth and qualities that blend and flow smoothly. The scenes are so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right standing in the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job McKenna, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Allison and Sebastian are not your typical fairy tale story. They meed during a political summit and are soon secretly seeing each other. Their whirlwind week is cut short when a political rival threatens Allison and she flees back to her country. Sebastian is determined to find her, and keep ahead of the political intrigue afoot. What happens when she finds out she is pregnant, and when he will not give up on her….a drama filled, touching love story…so good!!!
Ms. McKenna James, as well as her latest release, The Prince’s Baby, is going to reel you right in from the very first page. There is something so wonderful about her talent to create such captivating storylines, equipped with the characters to match. In this publication, Alison Smith is a Foreign Dignitary attending a week long conference, in order to offer aid to a Country in need. What she never bargained for was Prince Sebastian. Prince Sebastian has been tasked with covering a conference for his Father the King. Being of noble birth, this is just another way he has to serve his people… bored out of his mind. Everything changes upon seeing the fierce and determined Dignitary, Miss Smith. I encourage all romance reader’s to follow along as they find themselves in one form of compromise after another as they try to get their happily ever after.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader’s copy of The Prince’s Baby in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by Ms. James.
James takes hearts back in time to the beginning of a modern dynasty. Before there was Andrew and Eliza or Edward and Maggie, there was a fiery, no nonsense diplomat and a frustratingly, sexy Prince. The Prince’s Baby is Alison and Sebastian’s unconventional, yet unforgettable journey to royal infamy. What began as a battle of wills, becomes a scandal of epic proportions. Love was never on the agenda but fate had other plans. I love these stories dearly, but I adore Alison and Sebastian for laying the groundwork that started my love affair with this family. McKenna James is a master at crafting fairytale magic with modern day twists.
An Exceptional Story
What an unexpected story…and I mean that in a good way. To be honest the author’s first two books didn’t do it for me so I took a chance reading a third book. I’m glad I did. This storyline has depth and breadth. The main characters, Diplomate Allison and HRH Sebastian have so many obstacles to overcome. They come from different countries that at one time were at war. There are dignitaries out to make sure they don’t get together. They have a son in which they disagree on where he needs to live. Alison agrees to move back to Sebastian’s country so he can see his son, Adam but they are tucked away out in the country. I love their gay advisors, Patrick and Klaus who have their own little story quietly going on.
The big question is, will Sebastian risk everything to admit he has a son? With time lapsing does he really feel strongly enough for Alison?
What is exceptional in this book are the epilogues. The author has not just written the ordinary wedding epilogue. She has taken it into the couple’s Senior year’s forty years out. It is a beautiful chapter and gives this story beautiful ending. And, I dare anyone to read it without shedding a tear or two.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
I received this ARC from “Bad Boy Update” for my honest review so I’m leaving this for your consideration. Peace.
This a story of Crown Prince Sebastian and common woman Allison Smith.
Allison is a diplomat, working for another kingdom but while at the conference of the Kingdom of Wyvernbank, she meets Prince Sebastian.
Allison is at the conference cause she wants to be there, she is a very feisty woman and not afraid to speak her mind.Ant that is how she catches Prince’s eye.
Sebastian is intrigued with Allison and he wants to meet her better.Reluctantly,Allison agrees and they spend the next four days together. But there is a catch…Allison is a citizen of a kingdom that is not in a good relationship with Sebastian’s kingdom and that means that their affair must stay secret.
I liked Allison.Like I said before, she is a feisty, brave and smart woman. When she gets pregnant she is ready to do just about anything for her baby.
I liked Sebastian too.The reputation of a playboy is following him but that is just an image he is not willing to change. Why should he?He doesn’t care what people think, but he does want to be good King some day and he wants to help his people.
The story started good for me.I was able to get into it pretty quickly, but once the book hit the middle I became very disappointed.
The whole problem in their relationship was pointless, especially once the truth comes out.To be honest I expected some drama on that part, cause obviously it’s a big deal thru the entire book. But at the end there was no drama about it at all.The king accepted the truth and all was well.
The emotions between Sebastian and Allison were non-existent.I was very disappointed on that part.
I found this book to be not all that much different that the previous one I read from this author.
This reminds me so much of the old romance novels I used to sneak off my grandmother’s shelves when I was too young to be reading them. And that’s entirely a good thing. Filled with over the top drama and a nice touch of steam The Prince’s Baby brought back how I felt when I first discovered the genre. That said there were some points that just didn’t work for me.
I loved how fiery Alison was in the beginning. She was not in the least bit intimidated by Sebastian’s title and had no problem holding her own. But at some point that changed, she became much more meek even beyond what her circumstances called for. Sebastian is exactly what you’d expect from a prince but with a sweet side that I adored. While I really loved these two together when things got tough I found myself disappointed at how quickly they turned against one another. Overall this is a fun read to escape in and I’d definitely recommend it if you love a good royal surprise baby.
