PRINCE BERNDAs Prince of the Bear Shifters, I knew the time would come for me to prove myself worthy of my crown. I expected my quest to be perilous. What I didn’t expect was for it to take me up into Espen Mountain, a place that’s brought me nothing but grief and terrible nightmares. Not only must I find the five magical ingredients, but I have to do so alongside Saer, a mysterious and charming … and charming shifter coyote summoned by the king to be my guide. But who is Saer, and why do I feel as if we’ve met before?
SAER
Crushing on Prince Bernd from afar was one thing. Being given the responsibility of saving the prince and his kingdom was a whole other story. Banished from my kingdom by my own prince years ago, I never imagined I would be summoned to help Bernd. What could I possibly offer a prince? How was I supposed to save him? I was no one. A shifter with no place to call home. What I did know was that I would do everything in my power to help Bernd succeed on his quest. All I had to do was stop crushing on the guy, find the magical ingredients hidden up a dangerous mountain, and save his heart. What could go wrong?

The Prince and His Captivating Carpenter by Charlie Cochet
2nd book in the Paranormal Princes series. Paranormal M-M romance. 1st person alternating. Best if read after the first book.
The matchmaking King sends his son, the Prince, out on a quest “to prove himself worthy”. Sear is sent to help the Prince “find the magical items”.
Bear shifter meets coyote shifter.
Lots of humor. Sweet relationship with hot and sexy times for a wonderful hea.
Epilogue has a minor cliffhanger leading to the next book.
Bernd, bear shifter, can’t get past his grief and guilt at his father’s death on the mountain. Saer, coyote shifter, has been banished from his kingdom, and has been in love with Bernd for 8yrs. Bernd is finally sent on his quest with Saer, up the mountain. The story is life changing for Bernd and Saer and it was enlightening to see the changes, all for good. There was a very sweet surprise ending. I’ve already downloaded book 3!
This was such a great read. It was a short, easy read, and I just want more of this world and series. I did not read the first book, but will be coming back to it. This had all the feels, fantasy, romance, sweetness, longing, heartache and so much more. The side characters were wonderful and the the MC’s were just perfect. Saer and Bernd were made for each other and how they come together is both exciting and wonderful. The narration was done by Greg Boudreaux, who I really enjoy and did a great job on this. I am excited to read King Alarick and Jean’s story next!! Their story is going to be just as good I can feel it!

Story
This is the second book in this series, and while the two main characters find their HEA, there is a storyline in the background that continues from book one. It is because of this, I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a stand alone.
Prince Bernd has been mourning the loss of his father for quite a while. He’s shut himself off from everything. When the time comes for his quest, he finds his companion/guide for the trip isn’t a bear shifter, or even magical, but we will learn just how important Saer will become to him by the end of their dangerous journey.
This story is laced with humor, sadness, love, and happiness. It is well written and has a kingdom full of wonderful characters. I loved Bernd and Saer. Their ship name is either Baer or Saend. I oddly find those funny. Anyways….this story was delightful, and I found myself grinning several times.
Greg Boudreaux continues to do a wonderful job bringing this series to life. His voices for our couple were perfection.
The Prince and His Captivating Carpenter is the second book in the Paranormal Princes series but it works as a standalone. I had not read the first book in the series yet, but I followed along in the book very easily. It was a sweet story about two shifters who go on a quest to find love and find it with each other. Charlie Cochet is an entertaining writer who can make a short, fluffy story exciting and thrilling. Along with wonderful characters and a fun plot, there was a lot of humor and sass that had me grinning.
The audiobook was narrated by Greg Boudreaux who did a great job. The character voices were on point and easy to distinguish from each other. I enjoyed his performance and couldn’t wait to start the next book in the series. The audiobook production was well done.
Loved this book and the series
Charlie does it again, great series with Shifters of every sort and a story I have no idea how she comes up with.
Bear Shifter Prince Bernd has to go on a quest set by his king to prove he’s capable of running his Shifters. The king gifts him the us of Saer who is a coyote Shifter working fir Prince Bernd. But the Prince believes he can do the quest on his own.
How will the quest go and will we need book 3 or do we get a full HEA.
These books have been brought to life by Greg and he does a brilliant job.
Would recommend to anyone who lives Shifters, paranormal who has an imagination to take themselves into Charlie’s world.

From page one with the King’s paranoid mutterings about the demon, aka the squirrel (lol!), I was hooked. I loved every moment of the book. This book has it all: humor, heat, and heart. The emotions got to me and I might have teared up a bit. I loved the chemistry between them. Great characters, which is important to me. I can’t wait for the King’s book, although I am kind of devastated that the end is coming.
Another glimpse at a witty and amazing world and a story with a fairytale feel.
I love King Alaric and I really liked the MCs of this adventure! Despite the shorter form, it’s a very wholesome story with a lot of feels and humor thrown in for good measure. Very well written l as well, which was an icing on the cake.
Prince Bernd a bear shifter, who is informed by the King of All Shifters, that he has to complete a quest to prove his ability to lead his people but that a guide, Saer a coyote shifter, will be going with him.
These two characters were fun to read. Along the way on the quest Prince Bernd and Saer learn more about each other and also Prince Bernd is also forced to see what his actions and grief have done to his kingdom.
There is so much humor and sweet moments in this story it made the book move fast. I definitely recommend this book!
As in other of her books, Charlie Cochet had created an amazing world in the form of a sweet fairytale with shifters. The plot is interesting and you can find action and danger in the form of a quest while a prince and a carpenter found each other. Wonderful reading!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
A really enjoyable & entertaining shifter romance with a slightly dark undertone & it is the second book in the series “Paranormal Princes”. It has an interesting plot with some intriguing situations. The characters are engaging & fairly realistic about their emotional feelings while they continue to grow closer to each other.
There is: a male bear shifter (Prince Bernad) needs to go on a quest to prove himself worthy of his crown & is accompanied by a male coyote shifter (Saer), two delightfully mischievous bear shifter cubs (Attie & Turi), a meddling lion shifter & King (Alarick), his equally meddling advisor (Lord Jean Eldrich), various kinds of shifters, a monster, drama, some suspense, quests, adventure, action, well-meaning deceit, humor, magic, memories, tragedy, danger, threats, self-esteem issues, manipulations, confrontations, anger, emotional turmoil, realizations, love, some steam & a satisfying conclusion for this couple. There is a very interesting epilogue that gives a tantalizing glimpse of the next book in this series.
If you enjoy fantasy romances with a bit of adventure, humor, and sexy-times as only Charlie Cochet can write them then the Paranormal Princes series will be a perfect fit.
I adored the first book in the series, The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard, it was incredibly funny. The Prince and His Captivating Carpenter had some humor, but it had more hurt/comfort aspects to it which made it a real heart warmer. Charlie Cochet always knows how to put two guys together to make a perfect pair and Bernd and Saer are wonderful.
Sadly there is only one more book in this series, but at least it will be King Alarick and Jean’s story. I can hardly wait to see how they banish the beast haunting the kingdom and find their happily-ever-after.
The Prince and his Captivating Carpenter by Charlie Cochet is the second story in the Paranormal Princes series. This is a paranormal m/m shifter story about Prince Bernd and Saer. It is a wonderful lovestory – well written, sweet and enjoyable scenes, likeable characters. I smiled alot while I read this.
I absolutely loved this book! There was not one bad thing to say. I loved Saer’s kindness and love of life even though he had a bit of a hard one. I loved Prince Bernd’s love for his family and kingdom even though he had no clue what was happening within it. I loved the quest and how Bernd and Saer got their happily ever after because they both deserved it! The cliff hanger of King Alarick and Jean is what really had me gasping though! I’m super excited for their book!
Thanks to King Alarick and his meddling, Bernd and Saer both felt like they’ve known each other for ever when they embarked on their quest. They had the hots for each other almost from the get go, but I found them completely adorable. So cute, watching each other goofily, with hearts in their eyes.
I just wish I’d gotten a bit more of them. But I’m happy they came back safe, hand in hand, ready to do better for the kingdom and its inhabitants.
It seems that next in the series is King Alarick and his Jean. Can’t tell you how excited I am about it. Can hardly wait!
Bernd and Saer are absolutely adorable together. Written in dual POV, this is the second book in the series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading them in order.
This time around we have a bear and coyote shifter. This is sweet short novella with the signature Charlie Cochet humour. Their first meeting was simply GOLD!
I love everything Charlie writes and this one is no different. Highly recommended!!
Jean is still hopelessly in love and Alarick is still oblivious. That epilogue almost killed me and I can’t wait for their book. Looking forward to unravelling the mystery. I’m so excited!
