Prince Owin Being a fierce predator—not at all adorable, despite my graceful stature—the last thing I needed was a bodyguard. Especially a wolf shifter, whose presence alone was an insult to my princely principles. As Prince of the Ocelot Shifters, I prided myself on my infallible feline instincts, uncompromisable dignity, and flawless fashion sense. If having a canine follow me around at all … around at all times wasn’t bad enough, I now faced the most important moment of my entire life. The time had come to prove I was worthy of my crown. If only I could find a way to get rid of the pesky bodyguard.
Grimmwolf
When the King of All Shifters asked me to guard Prince Owin, I admit I had no idea what to expect. Cat shifters tend to be a little intense, not to mention kinda cranky. Owin was no exception, though he seemed crankier than most. Being his bodyguard was proving to be one of the greatest challenges of my life—but not nearly as great as convincing him there was something special between us. When Owin is faced with a perilous quest to prove his worth, I was determined to keep him safe, even if the same couldn’t be said of my heart.

I love this trilogy and I think this is my favorite.
Short, sweet, and full of snarky feline and sappy wolf. Owin began as quite grating for me with his constant arrogance and prickly nature. It went beyond normal feline prickliness and I wasn’t a fan. I immediately loved Grimm’s general happy, wolfy attitude that was a perfect foil for Owin’s more annoying traits. But it was Owin’s turnaround that seemed so genuine because of his self-reflection that had me changing my mind about him. Everything was on a truncated timeline due to the story length, but that didn’t bother me one bit.
For such a short story I think it was well-rounded in the character growth and development department. It had enough sweetness, passion, and humor to give me everything I really needed from the genre and promise in the premise. What really drew me in besides Grimm was the obvious story we’ll be getting about the King and the Earl. That’s one I’m definitely sticking around for. And to know that the next story will be about a semi-reclusive bear? Those are my favorite. So yeah, this story’s ability to make me change my mind so completely about a character combined with all the good stuff that’s being hinted at makes me a happy camper and an eager reader of the series.
This book is a typical Charlie Cochet book. Lots of great banter between the characters. There are plenty of laughs to be had. This is definitely a shorter read than what I’m used to from her. Looking forward to more!
Opposites attract?
Of all the species to be paired of, a feline and a canine?
Prince Owin is an Ocelot shifter, Grimmwolf is a wolf shifter! What a pair and interesting partnership this would turn out to be!
Set on a quest, how can these two opposites ever get along? Prince Owin is bratty, spoiled, grumpy and very very set on his ways meanwhile Grimm is always happy and friendly. But when the King sends them on a quest, all they can really do is follow.
Oh my God, I love the dialogue in this story. I especially love the ones between Prince Owin and Grimmwolf. Their banter will make you laugh a lot in the course of the story. Although Prince Owin decided to hate Grimm at the beginning, will he be able to hold onto that? Grimm is sweet and so so patient, but he could lose it anytime.
Ms. Charlie Cochet’s writing style that interjects humor in the dialogue is expected in her stories, she does it so so well. This particular story is no different, it is fun, witty and makes the characters endearing. You will love Grimm and Owin!
This is an enjoyable & delightfully humorous paranormal shifter romance with a well-written entertaining plot & really quirky characters.
There is: a rather snarky Ocelot cat shifter (Prince Owin) is not too impress with his by-the-book wolf shifter bodyguard (Grimwolf) not realizing that together they are the perfect pair, various kinds of shifters, a mischievous king (Alarick) & his companion (Jean), a lot of humor, drama, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, action, quests, danger, threats, verbal, disagreements, protectiveness, tantrums, vulnerability, attractions, confrontations, apologies, realization, mates, unexpected surprises, choices, decisions, well-meaning conspiracies, love, steamy scenes & a wonderful happy ending for this couple & a very interesting epilogue.
I absolutely adored this book!! Prince Owin and Grimm were adorable and funny in their interactions between the two of them. Grimm just wants to get under Owin’s skin and picks on him to no end. Owin goes from a pampered Prince and really grows up and develops throughout the story. He realizes he has treated Grimm deplorably. When it comes down to it will Owin choose Grimm or his kingdom? I can’t wait for the next installment of the Prince’s series!!
I really liked this story in the new Paranormal Princes series!!! Owin is the prince of the Ocelot shifters and to be able to get his crown he needs to go on a quest to see if he is worthy of the title. The King of all shifters…King Alarick has a stipulation to this quest….Owin’s bodyguard Grimmwolf has to go to. The quest is full of twists and turns and once Owin thinks that he is close he is met with another twist to the puzzle. The more time that they spend with each other the more that Owin starts to fall for Grimmwolf. Can Owin let his guard down enough to let Grimmwolf show him how much he is adored and loved beyond measure. I really enjoyed their story….I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Its a fantastic story and one that I would recommend to all. Well done!!!
I was hooked from page one! I just loved Prince Owin and his yummy Grimm! There is so much goodness packed into this delicious morsel of a novella. The snark and humor is top notch. The attraction between these two opposites is so hot it burns the page. The cuteness factor is on overload. The banter is epic. Need I say more?
What a wonderful start to a new and amazing series by Charlie Cochet. You are left eagerly anticipating the next book in this series.
The Prince and his Bedeviled Bodyguard by Charlie Cochet is the amazing first book in the new Paranormal shifter series, Paranormal Princes. I am so psyched for this series after reading this book.
Prince Owin refers to himself as a fierce Ocelot creature, even though his sexy wolf shifter bodyguard, Grimmwolf, finds him incredibly adorable. Nope, Owin doesnt need the pesky wolf trailing after him… except he does. When he gets a new quest, these two men find much more than they were expecting.
I absolutely adore Owin and Grimmwolf. They have such great chemistry and banter back and forth. I totally rooted for them throughout this story. And the story itself was so fun… action, drama, humor, steam and a few surprises too. Loved it!
This was a lot of fun. A great novella filled with shifters, magic, and royal cattiness.
Owen is the Prince of the Ocelots, a feline shifter known for his petty and catty ways. While he cares deeply for his people, and makes sure they interact well with the humans, he is very self-absorbed and fine taking care of himself. After all, he is a fierce, and not at all adorable, ocelot shifter.
King Alarick is the king of all shifters and immortal. He’s a little dense too, but he means well and has a good heart and good intentions. His steward, Jean, is going to play a bigger role in books to come, IMO, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens with that plotline. But Jean is basically the King’s keeper.
The king has assigned Grimm as Prince Owen’s bodyguard. Grimm is more than just a wolf shifter, but I’ll let you learn about that for yourself. He gets a kick out of getting a rise out of Owen, and the banter between the two men is quite entertaining.
Every Prince must be sent on a quest before earning their rightful place as ruler of their domain in the shifter world. Owen is given only Grimm and a magic satchel as tools to find what he seeks. As they set off, Owen is cocky and rude. He does not make a good impression on the magical canines he has to deal with along the way, but he has an issue with canines.
The two MCs face danger and suspense, and find that their experiences bring them closer to each other. But it seems at each turn, Owen must continue his search. The trials they face throughout the quest force Owen to look at himself and his actions in a different light. This leads to the final part of the quest, which puts Owen and Grimm in a difficult situation. But the changes that Owen has made in himself allow him to make an impossible decision; one that will lead to a new and better life with his happily ever after.
Happy reading!
* I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *
First book in a new series from Charlie Cochet! I mean should I say anything more? I’m a huge fan of Charlie’s writing and this book is another winner.
This is a fast read with dual POV and I was smiling like a fool throughout the book. My family kept giving me weird looks for laughing at random moments.
Prince Owin. Spoilt, bratty, arrogant and snooty. He is adorable. He is an ocelot shifter, which means all those feline characteristics that we adore, are present.
I was the prince! If I couldn’t randomly bite someone who annoyed me, what good was my title?
Grimm. I love how he’s amused by the prince’s antics while Owin can’t stand him. I enjoyed this a book a lot. It’s a very interesting premise and I look forward to reading the next book. Fans of Macy Blake will find some cameos.
P.S:-I’m quite intrigued by King Alarick. And Jean. Will they get a book? Please tell me it’s not just in my head. I mean the king has to see it right? He couldn’t be that blind!(No pun intended ofcourse)

The Prince and the Bedeviled Bodyguard by Charlie Cochet
Paranormal Princess, book 1. M-M romance novella.
Prince Owin, Ocelot shifter prince. “I was fabulous.” He thinks his bodyguard, Grimm, a wolf shifter, smells like a wolf, “so gross”.
Very diva behavior.
And incredibly funny. Owin keeps hoping to get an annoyed response from Grimm, but all he gets is “that’s adorable” or similar.
Eventually the two go out on a quest where Owin learns he may not be as independent as he’d like and both learn that a little loving goes a long way in making everything better.
Entertaining, and quite a few laugh out loud moments of silliness. Not a deep plot at all but ends with a positive message which I loved.
Just lighthearted fun.
The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard is the first book in the Paranormal Princes series. It introduces a paranormal world where each shifter species has its own prince and everyone falls under the rule of the King of All Shifters. The king is less a majestic ruler and more a doting father who loves all his shifter children and roots for their happiness. This short novella was sweet and goofy with a feisty ocelot shifter and his besotted, sarcastic wolf mate. The book was funny, but it was full of fluff and some slapstick style humor with not a lot of plot/character development. All in all, the book was fun and an easy read.
I absolutely love this world and these characters. There is always a lot of humor and love and adventure in these stories. Prince Owin and Grimm were no different as the first couple in the series they lead the way on Prince Owin’s quest to become the crowned prince. I cannot say enough good things about this series of shifters! Hopefully many more stories and match making will come in the future.
It’s been far too long since I’ve read something that’s made me alternately swoon and laugh-out-loud. The fact that it’s written by Charlie Cochet (which means it’s written beautifully) is just icing on the cake!
First in her new Paranormal Princes series, The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard sets the stage of a world filled with humans and paranormal critters alike. Ms. Cochet introduces so many interesting characters, and hints at a wide array of possible future stories – I can’t wait for the next episode to come out.
Total opposites in every way, Prince Owin and his bodyguard, Grimm Wolf, butt heads at every step. ‘Course that can’t keep them from checking each other out, and drooling behind each other’s backs. The UST is crazy hot and I loved the snarky banter between the two. Even after their relationship turns physical, it’s clear how much these two love to push the other’s buttons.
Charlie Cochet is amazingly skilled in getting the nuances of Owin and Grimm’s relationship across, and it kept me laughing the whole way through. Their flirty, witty banter never stops, and it was wonderful watching them get together.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard is going to be made into an audiobook. Prince Owin’s frisky personality is adorable and I can’t wait to see who’s going to narrate this wonderful story.
5 Stars
OMG, this book was so amazing and fun and hot and did I mention, fun? Charlie Cochet’s writing and Greg Boudreaux’s voice are a match made in heaven!
I wasn’t too sure what to make of Prince Owin at first. Okay, no, that’s a lie. I didn’t like him or his spoiled attitude. However, I loved Grimm and he was so cute in his obvious crush with Owin that I couldn’t help but be intrigued. Owin did get better… eventually, LOL. And frankly, there were times when he needed a good spanking, but it made for some fun situations and I loved seeing Owin finally open up to Grimm. They were awesome together and I hope we’ll get to see them again throughout the series.
I’m really intrigued by King Alarick and Lord Jean Eldrich and I really, really hope they’ll have their own book. King Alarick is just hilarious.
Greg has such a knack for narrating these kinds of funny stories, not only is his voice amazing to get lost in while listening to the audiobook, but he always does a great job giving each character their own distinct voice and bringing them to life.
If you’re a fan of fun, low-angst, adventure-filled paranormal romances, this is a must-read, or rather, a must-listen audiobook, you won’t regret it!

So good! Witty and wonderful!!!
I love shifters and add in Charlie’s wit, sass, and humor and you have a fantastic read. Greg’s performance was flawless and elevated the book to new heights.
I loved both these characters and found their dynamics so funny. I loved spoilt Owin and his dislike of wolves. He grows so much over the adventure and of course, falls for the stoic and strong wolf Grimmwolf. I loved Grimmwolf! He was such a great character and a great contrast to Owin. A wonderful story with wit, humor, and adventure, a little danger and a lot of chemistry. A fantastic, hilarious and all-around great short read, sure to make you laugh along with all the shenanigans. I can’t wait for more!!

Great story and audio performance!
This was a really fun story to listen to – just perfect for finishing in one evening. I love Greg Boudreaux’s audio performances and I’ve also enjoyed a few books from Charlie Cochet.
The snarky conversations between the two main characters, Prince Owin and Grimmwolf were delightful and entertaining. At first, Owin wasn’t a very likeable character but he soon grew on me. Grimmwolf was very patient with Owin and there were some surprises in store for both of them.
This was a lighthearted story and one I could see myself listening to again if I didn’t have so many other books on my TBR and TBL lists.
I’m looking forward to more books in this series.

I absolutely enjoyed this book! I was laughing at Grimm and Owin from the beginning. I also enjoyed Macy Blake’s hellhound book tie in! That surprised me. I can’t wait to read more in this series! Loved it! Read it and you will too
