I love the story in Nicolette Andrews’ The Priestess and the Dragon (Dragon Saga Book 1). The whole concept of a smart-mouthed priestess like Suzume bring exiled from glitter to a remote mountain shrine, where she is to live in poverty and be trained to become a priestess, only to discover that she’s the reincarnation of the lover who jilted the arrogant dragon she’s awakened and which now wants to use her as his tool for revenge against herself (NR knowing who she actually is)? Perfect, even if kinda complicated to even try to actually explain. An exciting tale in which Suzume discovers new powers, takes on a whole lot of problems and delivers one heck of a fun ride for we readers. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
I loved this book even though I am not one for romance. I enjoyed following Suzume and Kaito on their adventures. I can’t say more for fear of spoilers.
This is the first book in Nicolette’s Dragon Saga. I love how well the characters are developed as well as the awesome world building. Suzume can be extremely stubborn at times but still love her as well as the Dragon. I highly recommend grabbing this if you like dragons, fantasy, japan mythology, anime
My initial reaction is “different”. It is action-packed and filled with intrique, danger and twists and turns-almost to the point where you can’t keep up. It’s filled with interesting characters. Suzume is a spoiled princess / priestess that thinks she is better than everyone else. I plan to keep reading just to see where this story goes.
I loved reading about Suzume and Kaiyo. The setting is absolutely magical and it makes me feel like I’m in feudal Japan.
A good story. I had a hard time liking the protagonist; she came off as a spoiled brat. I wish a little more had been told about her life. I might have understood her more. The world in which the story took place is well created. I would read more books by this author.
A RACE AGAINST TIME AND DESTINY!!!
I have to say this right up front. Are you ready? I freaking loved this book. Talk about smooth flowing, easy to follow with so many twists and surprises that you are captivated from the start. I was so engrossed in this read that I wouldn’t put it down until the very last word. Good I don’t sleep much. I had to see what kind if trouble was brewing. The characters and the scenes are so realistic you lost in it. Its like you can feel and see everything that’s going on. Sometimes that might not be a good thing. You’ll have to decide for yourself. It’s definitely a page-turner with all the excitement and adrenaline rush you can handle. Its like the whole tale was choreographed to perfection. You could feel the vibrations jump from the pages. I have to really applaud Nucolette on how amazingly strong and oriented hee characters were. Her imagination is off the charts believable. Its like I became part of the tale. Nicolette did a phenomenal job bringing this read to life. Exceptional Nicolette.
