Wow! This was a stunning and mesmerizing adventure that left my heart in my throat so many times. I was totally thrown by everything that went down through this story. Although it is the ninth in this series, you can read this one without the rest. It is definitely one of my favorites. The bad news is that I don’t want to give anything away to hamper your enjoyment. Just know that you won’t want to put this down and you won’t be able to forget it for a long time after you are finished.
Exciting, exhilarating, moving, chilling, suspenseful and a fantastic read from beginning to end.
“But even if pain is unintentional, it still hurts, doesn’t it?”
Tiffany Reisz’s storytelling always captivates from start to finish. What a fantastic story!
I loved the crime solving aspect of this story and Nora’s newfound friendship with the detective, Cyrus. Cyrus is really great, has a heart of gold, and he and Nora made me smile with their banter and sleuthing. Together, they investigate the death of a priest. It’s heartbreaking and deeply emotional.
While there’s darkness to this story, Tiffany Reisz’s signature wit shines throughout. There were many moments that made me chuckle and smile.
“If anybody needs prayer, it’s her. If she’s having tea with the devil right now, I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“Selling her soul to him?”
“Nah. If anything, he’s trying to buy his back from her.”
But what I really enjoyed and what truly got to me was how this investigation of the priest’s death and all of its underlying details brought out Soren and Nora’s deepest emotions. The way they were tested, the way they dealt with the emotions being brought to the surface, and the way their bond intensified was a mountain of intense feelings. What happens between Soren and Nora in this story is written so beautifully and with such deep, raw emotions, and it’s stunning to watch it all unfold.
Tiffany Reisz has a special way of writing that draws you in and makes you feel so deeply. And it’s more than just the feelings she evokes. She write’s real characters with flaws and vulnerabilities and with each new story we fall more in love with these characters. With each book I can’t wait to get more of them.
There’s a lot that happens in this story. New friendships are formed, bonds strengthened, there’s heartbreaking, sad moments, and there’s mystery and intrigue. Sit back and enjoy as the journey continues.
“Because even if I could live without you, I would never want to.”
The Original Sinners are a group that I adore. Søren, Nora and Kingsley embedded themselves way back in The Siren(Book 1 in the series) and I was hooked. The writing, the storytelling, the intriguing characters are such an addicting combination that I couldn’t wait till I got my hands on The Priest.
I will say this story was a little different in that it was a little more suspenseful in a “who done it” storyline with questioning the “what ifs” of the past. There is pure passion in the book but it is not heavy in bdsm like many of the past books.
I loved the new characters introduced and the suspenseful nature of the plot but what shinned for me was the exposing nature of Nora and Søren’s relationship. The what if’s, the whys, the what would have been, were all uncovered and discussed and left to simmer until it boiled. I had some heart palpitations but in the end, there was only one direction their relationship could go and for that, I was was immensely happy.
I do look forward to more from These Original Sinners because Søren’s future isn’t set in stone yet. But I do believe that Mercedes may have given us a hint, that’s if you believe the cards.
4.5
Continuing in the Original Sinners timeline, Nora Sutherlin has relocated to New Orleans with her chosen family. While Søren is suspended for one year and Kingsley and Juliette are expecting baby number two, a local priest is found dead and Nora was his last phone call. A local detective, Cyrus Tremont, is hired to get answers, but after meeting Nora, he discovers there may be many more questions.
“If the day comes when I can’t give you anything, at least here, now, I can give you everything.”
This plot skirts the dividing line between an Original Sinners book and a spinoff. While I liked aspects of both, I was torn at times because I really wanted to delve more into certain plot developments between Nora and Søren which kept me captivated. However, I also enjoyed how Nora and Cyrus cultivated their friendship while investigating the case.
As usual, Nora is in typical form, as well as, the Søren and Kingsley. The depth of these characters is ever apparent, showing a range of humor, pain and ultimately love. Selfishly, I would have liked to peek in the window of Søren’s bedroom on one particular night and absolutely loved the ultimate adventure on another night.
The Priest is an erotic story with mystery yet also delves into the weakness and strengths of its characters.
Perfection!! This author is my unicorn for a reason. All the stars in the world
Soren, Nora, Kingsley, Juliette – we get them all in this one. My heart hurts at the thought of this series one day coming to an end. Luckily that is not today.
Plenty of taboo and painful subjects are covered in this one. The dialogue was exceptional, as usual, the imagery – divine.
I loved the new characters and how they meshed with the old. I cried. I genuinely LOLd and I remembered why this group of make believe people own a very real place in my heart.
She never ceases to amaze and excite with her stories.. the sexy and undeniably unholy dynamic that is Nora, Soren and Kingsley’s relationship is once again brought to light in this wonderful story of lust, mystery and intrigue… throw in a sexy new stranger, a detective investigating a Priest who committed suicide with Nora being the last person he called before dying.. with Nora’s help will they uncover the truth, you’ll have to read it to find out. A very entertaining story I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys something a wee bit different than the norm.
I have always loved the dynamic of Soren, Nora and King’s relationship. So when a newbie is added to the mix it’s exciting.
Nora makes a new friend.
Cyrus is a detective looking for answers. A priest who has committed suicide last call was to Nora. Shook by this, Nora helps Cyrus with this case.
I can not go into all the happenings of this story as that would spoil it.
Just know somethings are going to come to the surface that will be difficult to read.

The Priest is the ninth book in the original sinners series written by author Tiffany Reisz. I have read several of the books in this series, but I haven’t had the chance to read them all. Even though this is true, I had no problem following along with the storyline.
The Priest is a steamy mystery novel, unlike any that I’ve read. I wish I could explain it better, but I really can’t without going into too much detail. Like all of Tiffany’s books, there’s some serious steam involved as well as several big twists! I truly loved it and was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story!
Several of the characters from the series do appear in the storyline, but it wasn’t in a confusing way. Actually, it only intrigued me to add their books to my TBR list!
The Priest is an amazing story, and I’m looking forward to the next in the series!

Color me intrigued. Just when I think things are quietly settling for everyone (namely Soren, Nora and Kingsley) and that it’s simply kinky leisure and galore from now on, of course there’s a curveball. This storyline had a mystery to solve with a new character. I was definitely engaged in wanting to know the answers as much as Nora. Those revelations end up leading to some heavy introspection and discussion as a result. Most of that was at the end and likely the best part of the book because of how it pushed the characters past a certain point and how it impacted them moving forward. When I see where Nora started and how she is now, I realized just how much she has matured despite how youthful she can seem. The same goes for Soren and Kingsley. Their experiences, including loving others, has given them new perspectives on what they are willing to sacrifice. There are some great talking points that I think will come around again in future stories because there is no way that this series is over. In many ways, it feels like it is just beginning.
New city and new chapters of life are bringing something different…it seems everybody is changed, more mature but there are some things inside of all of them, they can’t run away from.
Søren was suspended from the Jesuits and he is dealing with it in his own way. Kingsley is expecting his third child and is nervous and panicked as hell. Nora is almost as usual self – getting involved in things that mean trouble. The priest committed suicide, but how is he connected to Nora? She needs to know!
When I first heard the title of this book, I thought it will be about Søren and his life after Jesuits, but nooo, this one is about some other priest. There are many correlations through the story, that you can connect to their life, if you know their past and I found that very intriguing. I loved every minute of it, and that the story is placed in New Orleans, with magic and voodoo and witches and….be still my heart, it is perfect. An average reader might read it as classic mystery, but if you read closely their conversation and all, it is much deeper and almost heart breaking on moments.
All in all, it is about solving the WHY, but the revelation will be more than she can chew, which says much, as she is Nora, and is not shocked easily. Some hard questions are brought up, and I admired her courage go against the corruption in Church, despite her love.
My heart was ripped, chewed and stomped on, then put back together. I always feel too much with these characters. A little romantic in me still hopes they will finally decide to live their own »normal« life and have some peace and just be happy. Their love is so great it is almost painful. Despite all their years together, there is still thing we discover anew with them, and I am grateful for that. They touched some elementary yet painful memories. Oh, and let’s not forget THE MOMENT when Søren decided to give her power. That was unexpected but I was glad, it showed his love for her.
The master. The monster. The beautiful sadist. That was the secret she never told anyone, not even herself, that she loved him more for his cruelties than his mercies. (Ch. 27, The Priest)
I had so much fun with the Detective and his cluelessness about kink, Nora is a great teacher and she enjoyed shocking him. Their conversation was fun, and they worked good together.
Ms. Tiffany’s books always leave me with so much emotions, I need a few days to process them. I laugh, I gasp, I cry and get hot So I would recommend this book to well everybody. It is well written with good plot, great characters and dialogues, mystery, love, kink and even a bit of magic.
I’ve missed these guys so much. I know we get Sinners Christmas presents and sometimes Halloween presents, but to get another entire book was priceless. All the Christmas, Easter and Eid gifts in one.
In crazy, crazy times I read this book. The fact that it took me longer than usual to read it is nothing to do with the book not being gripping, it’s because watching the news became a must.
Nora becomes Scooby Doo solving the mystery of the death of father Ike Murrow. The whole who/what/why with Cyrus Tremont, a man who deserves a medal because he might be the only guy ever in the history of the Sinners that Nora hasn’t wanted to fuck.
The Priest has some spooky shit going on. Vampires, witches, warlocks, What’s Up Doc jokes and even more scary is Søren. Always. Always scary but this one had me panting for him. Pass me the smelling salts I feel a bit peculiar.
I would have loved more King but I had lots of him in The Chateau and I shouldn’t be so greedy.
Tonight I’m going to bead my tree.
At a time when our world is threatened by a virus that’s killing so many there is always a book to escape into and I’m so thankful for Mistress Little One.
“If enough people all over the world were singing the same song at the same time, the whole world could hear it.”
“They all needed that time. They were like injured animals, isolating themselves from the pack to lick their wounds and privately heal.”
“So easy to choose between good and evil. So hard to choose between good and good. Hardest of all to choose between what you want to do and what you want to do and what you ought to go.”
It’s almost like TR knew the apocalypse was coming. Stay safe Søren, Nora and King.
She’s baaacck! And better than ever.
“The Priest” is the latest installment in Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series. It can be read as a standalone and is a perfect entry point for Original Sinners virgins – especially those who may have been apprehensive about the BDSM elements.
It may be called The Priest but it’s all about Nora and the absence of the priest in her life- who has had a crisis of faith and left without a word on a road trip to find himself. Nora finds herself with time on her hands – which always leads to trouble. That fact that she’s in New Orleans can only mean that the aforementioned trouble is laced with magic and an amazing cast of new characters.
Nora does what she does best – stick her nose where it doesn’t belong, immersing herself in the mystery of a dead priest. A priest whose last phone call was to Nora’s old business number. The reader is initially thrust into a quirky, albeit kinky, cozy mystery. Nora is in the midst of channeling her inner Nancy Drew when Soren returns – adding another emotional layer to the unease swirling around her. Nora . As the case unfolds, the investigation twists and turns in shocking directions, leading Nora into her heart of darkness and crisis of faith, ultimately reinventing herself. The meshing of her emotional arc into the framework of a seemingly cozy mystery is nothing sort of brilliant. In the end, it is more than a vehicle for the emotional journey, it’s a balm for the Hell Reisz puts her beloveds through. It’s shocking, devastating, sometimes soul crushing, and full of the poignant spiritual self reflection that Tiffany Reisz masters so deftly.
But don’t fear Original Sinners fans – there is plenty of snark, smacks, and sexy times. But don’t say you weren’t warned about that heart wrenching sucker punch.
Did I think I would ever read a novel set in The Original Sinner series? No! I’m so glad Tiffany is still writing and hopes to write more even though this one added a mystery genre for the series. I enjoyed it. I loved all of the characters and just got more insight of where things currently are with them. I only hope for more lol!
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
First off – Nora Sutherlin is my absolute favorite heroine/mistress/comedienne of all the hundreds of book characters I have ever read! Ms. Reisz has developed this character with such stunning intellect and wit. Nora is strong, assertive, hilarious and when she is in the scene, it is divine reading. The guys aren’t too shabby, either, but she is who I anxiously await to hear from in each book.
The Priest is another fabulous “HIT” in the Original Sinners series. It will be difficult to get into many details without giving anything away. A priest commits suicide – for some reason, he had Nora’s old business card and called her just before he died. The church announces that he was “depressed”, so the case is closed. One conscientious police officer gets a private detective – our new friend Cyrus, to investigate the case surrounding the dead priest. This leads Cyrus to strike up a working relationship with Nora. The first half of this story really develops the friendship between Cyrus and Nora, and I love it! Reminiscent of Nora and Zach way back in The Siren – only Cyrus is happily engaged – so friendship it is.
Enter the witch – yes, a witch named Mercedes. At first glance, I thought it would just be a New Orleans novelty, but she becomes quite integral to several decisions that Nora is facing. ONE of which had me scared to death throughout the whole damned book regarding Soren! Was Mercedes an evil witch out to get Nora or a good witch guiding her? Each chapter as we neared the ending, I was literally freaking out that our author was going to break our hearts! While some things are resolved – a big decision is not. So that must mean MORE Original Sinner stories to come!
Fans of the series will love all the intimate couple time between Nora and Soren as well as Kingsley’s angst over protecting his darling family. Readers new to Tiffany Reisz will easily enjoy this plot-line as a standalone story. Win-Win for everyone. Enjoy!
Would give it 10 stars if I could! If you have read the rest of the series don’t stop now. This may be the best one of all. I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the story. I’m not sure why but it felt as if the mystery overshadowed the lifestyle aspects of the book. The character development continues to amaze.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
When I saw a new book was coming out from author Tiffany Reisz, I wanted it without knowing anything about it. Having read most of the Original Sinners series, this one was a must-read for me even though she says you don’t have to read the others to read this one. I would recommend reading the others for the pure joy of them all.
This one started out like a suspense story when a priest is found dead and has Nora’s card on him. This leads to a private investigator visiting Kingsley’s house looking for Nora. But the investigator is not ready for the likes of Nora, Kingsley, and Soren (sorry I don’t know how to put the slash in the o).
Also in this story, we learn a little more about Nora and Soren and where they go from here or do they have a future? Will they find out the truth about what happened with the priest? Was it murder or suicide?
If you are a Tiffany Reisz and an Original Sinners fan then you need to read this one. It has the main trio and a few extras and a few new vanilla characters. So sit back and enjoy The Priest, I loved it and can’t wait for more.

I am so glad I’ve not had to work this week. I did not want to put this book down. I have read every single book created by the goddess Tiffany Reisz, and did not think I could love Soren and Nora more but it’s happened. I have missed them so much.
This is easily one of my favorite books from Tiffany. I loved everything about it. If you like romantic suspense and BDSM erotica, you will love this and anything she has written. It can be read standalone, but I recommend reading the series in order.
A priest commits suicide and Mistress Nora’s business card is found on him as the cops process the crime scene. When the case seems a bit fishy, but the police close the case as a suicide, a private investigator is brought in to look into the situation.
What follows next is a terrifically crafted and impactful story. Cyrus Tremont is terrific as he appeals to Nora to help him unravel the case. There’s terrific banter between these two, which was a welcome aspect to this dark story. It’s not hard to see what might be behind the priest’s suicide, and the way Cyrus and Nora work together provides the lighter element that is much needed in this story.
And there’s more to The Priest than just this mystery. Soren is back, and he’s deliberating his return to the Jesuit order which comes with some significant conditions. I’ve never been much of a Soren fan, mostly because I don’t think he’s honest with himself, but The Priest changed that for me somewhat. He’s confronted with finding that honesty inside himself in this book and the circumstances of the suicide bring him to the brink of understanding. I just loved this about this story and I’ve found myself having a softer heart toward Soren for it. The Priest finally deals with some issues I’ve had with this complicated character, namely his vows and it sheds light on Soren in a way that made him seem more human, more vulnerable, and I adored that about this story. Even Nora sees him in a slightly different light and that impacts some of the decisions related to faith and the church that she makes.
There are so many wonderful insightful lines lines from the various characters in this and I just wanted to read them and then read them again. It says some fairly important things about men, women, power and inequality, especially the ending which had me holding my breath just a little bit.
This might be my one of my favorite books in this series and from this author. I loved everything about it. If you like romantic suspense and BDSM erotica, you might like this. It can be read standalone, but for the full effect of these wonderful complex and creative characters, I recommend reading the series in order.
I fall more in love with this world with each story I read. I can’t really say for sure if you could read a lot of these books without being a little (?) lost, but I think you could read this one on it’s own and be fine. There’s enough original storyline and new characters.
The Priest is basically a sexy and humorous murder mystery. With some of your fave people- Mistress Nora, Soren, King, and Nora’s new friend and detective Cyrus, along with his fiance. There’s a hint of paranormal, just a touch, but they live in New Orleans so it’s not that odd. I was so totally drawn into the story.
There’s all the heated scenes you would expect from this author, with some deep emotional conversations, witty banter, and I really enjoyed all the action. Nora is helping Cyrus figure out why a priest died. It leads them down a rabbit hole and I could read ten more books about them as a crime solving duo.
A new book in the Original Sinners series, so that means more Nora, Soren en King.
There is a different vibe in the book, mainly because there is an introduction of a new character Cyrus and there is the death of the priest. And the question why did he kill himself.
Nora and Soren are also dealing with his leave of absence from the Church and they are come to see certains events in a new light. It shifts the relationship between them.
There is a lot of food for thought, but the book also made me laugh out loud. That was because of the interaction between Cyrus and Nora.
