“Eleanor, you really should know better by now.” he said. “Never flirt with a sadist in a well-stocked dungeon.”
I had to share that with you, it made me giggle. While this story has some of the things that I’ve come to expect and always enjoy, it surprised me as well. I’d classify this one as romantic suspense. I really enjoyed the mystery-solving side of the journey the author took me on. I also enjoyed meeting the new characters that were introduced in the telling of this tale.
That being said, nothing compares to spending time with my favorite characters. Søren…sigh. He’s dark and deep and delicious, right? And then there’s Kingsley and Nora and their banter that never fails to entertain. The three of them have an unbreakable bond that somehow manages to get tested again and again. With so much pain in their past and a fragile future weighing on them with Søren’s suspension, things are a little uncertain.
I got all caught up in being a virtual detective as different clues were discovered and secrets were uncovered. It was exciting to anticipate and try to figure things out along the way. I already had a girl-crush on Nora, she’s so fearless and feisty, but she took it up another notch when she became a sleuth in stilettos. That poor PI had no clue what he was in for when he asked Nora to help with his investigation.
Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this addictive, funny, sexy, sometimes sweet and sometimes sad, and surprisingly suspenseful story. I loved it and I’m excited to report that it didn’t feel like the end so I have high hopes there will be more Original Sinners to come. The line forms here…
“Something tells me it’s coming. Storm clouds gathering. I can see them.”
You and me both, Søren. Elements in this book have been a long time coming, and long talks overdue, but Reisz had it all mapped out and the timing was perfect. A smart book that explores issues related to race, gender, and the abuse of power. Misconduct wears many faces. Tiffany Reisz, I am so proud of you.
Full of mystery, new friends, humor, sexy fun, and important themes, Reisz never disappoints. The Priest is labeled as the 9th installment in an established series but don’t worry about that. You can safely pop your cherry with this Original Sinner without consequence. It’s the perfect entry for newbies…and just think of all the reading material awaiting you once you’re done. Check it out!

6* Amazing Sinner Stars
The priest was my most anticipated read so far this year and it was so worth the wait because it was a fantastic all-consuming read. Every book in the Original Sinners has been a 5* Star read but this one was a 6* Star for me. The Original Sinners has to be my all-time favourite series.
This story was a little different from the others because Nora, who is now living in New Orleans gets herself involved with a PI to figure out why a Priest would commit suicide just before trying to contact her on her old New York number. The platonic relationship that Nora had with the PI Cyrus was very entertaining and heartfelt. They made friends fast. On their mission to solve this mystery they encounter some weird and wonderful people who will have you highly entertained.
Soren and Kinglsey make appearances in the story and catching up with them was such a treat. There were some deep moments of love and digging into the past between Soren and Nora where truths are exposed, and honesty laid bare.
This was once again a flawless, well thought out entertaining read.
To be able to catch up with these sexy sinners is such a treat, thank you Tiffany and please continue to bring us their stories.
Where do I start? I don’t want to say too much.
But what I do have to say first ….This is officially book #9 in this series. Tiffany says readers new to the series can read it without knowing anything about the other books. And yes, that may be true … but I wouldn’t do that. I am way too book-OCD-ish to start a series with book 9!! If you want to read this book, please read all the others first – they are SO good! Believe me, you do NOT want to miss any second you can get with our darlings!
Now this book. The Priest. This Priest is not really our Priest – Søren – it’s a Priest who killed himself – or was killed – in New Orleans. The city where our darlings now all live. And PI Cyrus is tasked to find out what really happened … which brings him right into the the adorable and crazy world of Nora and her boys! LOL! Poor guy.
We hear a lot about Nora, Søren, King, Juliette & Celeste. But we also hear a lot about the PI and his future wife Paulina.
The Priest is a bit of a sexy mystery suspense novel. We get lots of New Orleans, lots of interesting and mysterious moments and dangerous moments, very erotic moments. Funny moments. Sad and heartbreaking moments.
There’s not much more I want to say. If you love the Sinners, you will love this book too and if you’re new to the series – it’s a really great story, but you might want to start with book #1 – it would be way too confusing and sad for me – as a new reader – to have missed so much!
I loved reading THE PRIEST. Even though I’m super anti religion, this series and its people are just some of the most beautiful things in the bookworld for me. It was another typical Tiffany Reisz masterpiece.
I can’t wait to hear more from our darlings!
I love these characters and the stories never get old! It has taken me an age to pick this one up. I’m not really sure why. I have no valid excuse except life kept getting in the way and lets face it, we have had one crazy year to contend with.
For those that know of the magnificent trio of Nora, Soren and Kingsley I don’t need to say anymore. For those who haven’t yet been introduced… Seriously?! Where have you been … go one click The Siren RFN!
It was slightly weird to see a lighter more humorous side of Soren and I can’t make up my mind if tiffany has created what can only be described as a dark RomCom if there can be such a thing. Once again throwing the Catholic Church into disarray and showing it for the corrupt organisation we all know it to be. Soren, Nora and even Cyrus had tongue in cheek humour that had me laughing out loud at the most unexpected moments. Cyrus and Paulina were somewhat a reserved couple that was until Nora coaxed the inner tiger out of Cyrus resulting in their relationship taking a much needed turn up the stairs and straight for the bedroom! Totally brilliant!
An Erotic suspenseful read that kept me on the edge of my seat.
One might have thought that with the move to New Orleans, Soren, Kingsley and Nora would be settling into a normal, but not vanilla, life.
One would be incorrect. When one of Mistress Nora’s business cards is found at the scene of what looks like a suicide, a private investigator tracks her down and begins asking uncomfortable questions. Uncomfortable for him, because Nora’s up for anything and Cyrus Tremont has led a somewhat sheltered experience where sex play is concerned.
But as Nora and Cyrus dig deeper into the mystery they come up against powerful forces who’d rather they didn’t dig deeper, and it impacts their lives and also the lives of those they love.
An excellent mystery with plenty of erotic play, and the kind of character development that’s hard to maintain this far into a series, but that Tiffany Reisz does so well.

The Priest is the latest in Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series. (I can’t believe we’re at 9 books so far!!) This book takes a departure from what I’ve come to expect from Reisz, especially with these stories.
Reisz takes the sinners cast down to New Orleans in The Priest. This may seem weird to some but I personally think it’s a perfect city for this cast of characters. There’s an air of mystery in NOLA that doesn’t exist in other places, and it fits well with them. Søren, the protagonist that I’ve always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with, is a father now, and this has led to his suspension from the Jesuits. Now he finds himself stuck between a proverbial rock and hard place as he contemplates what he wants more: to return to the Jesuits or to be a father.
Although the book highlights the internal struggles of Søren and changes in Nora’s world, there’s a mystery to solve, which is different from most of the other books. I enjoyed this addition and Reisz didn’t disappoint, but kept me on my toes with the turn of every page.
Søren may be the focal point of this book but I personally fell in love with Nora’s storyline. She finds a piece of herself and embarks on this unexpected path of self-discovery. And personally, I can’t think of a better setting for this to take place than in NOLA. I adore Nora even more after reading this and she’s that much more relatable as well.
I was a bit sad that we didn’t get to see much of Kingsley in this one, because he’s my favorite, but I trust that we’ll get plenty of him in upcoming novels.
This story seems t have left Sinners fans with mixed emotions but, in my opinion, you must read it if you’ve been following the series this far. It fits in nicely and advances the series to a new level.
Five stars to this novel!
This sounded like it was going to be a great book and I was really excited to read it, but it just was not for me. Thank you so much Net Galley for the free book.
***4 Stars***
Confession first: I haven’t read all of the Original Sinners books. I’ve read a couple and then some that are connected to the world of, but I still consider myself a newbie to the world and the intricacies of the relationships between all of the main characters. But with that said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in their world and didn’t feel lost at all. I mean, my interest in Nora, Søren and Kingsley got kicked up a good bit and has me wanting to mess with my TBR list so I can truly dive into their world, but I never felt like I was so far out in left field when it came to their unique dynamic that I lost interest in the book.
With that said, the mystery of why Father Ike committed suicide was very well done. While there were parts that dragged a bit for me, the twists and turns in the story kept me turning the pages to see how everything would turn out and it was definitely one for the ages.
But what really held my interest was the budding friendship between Cyrus and Nora. I loved their bantering and how they may appear to be total opposites, they actually have quite a bit in common and seeing it play out was a lot of fun.
I’m crossing my toes that we’ll be seeing Cyrus and Pauline again, because they definitely make a great team, but I’m also curious to see what happens next in the lives of Nora, Søren and Kingsley because they’ve got a lot of things that need to be handled.

The Priest begins with an investigation into the death of a priest. His last phone call was to a Mistress Nora. Why would he call Nora, someone hes’ never met? Nora sets out to solve the mystery in spite of the risks to herself and everything she holds dear.
I don’t usually read romantic suspense but Reisz is one of those authors I will read, regardless of what she writes. Part of a series, it really helps to read the previous installments before taking on this book, as it deepens the readers’s understanding of the relationships and side characters who play such an important role in this book.
Reiz’s books are a masterclass in showing, not telling, and is one of the primary reasons I read them. She goes deep into her characters and shows you who they are. As a writer, she virtually disappears from her story. I’ve only read a few writers who can do this and when I find them, I stick to them. It makes her writing so mesmerizing, you don’t realize what is happening to you until you’re half-way through the book and wondering where the time has gone. And Reisz’s characters are not entirely, purely good. They are complex, make wrong decisions, and have sometimes terrible motivations but you can’t help but want them to succeed nonetheless. Nora is very much such a character and it is both terrifying and delightful to see her make her way through this mystery.
The Priest also makes great use of the city of New Orleans as its own character. A fascinating city, full of contrasts, secrets and the overtones of the supernatural, Reisz capitalizes on all these associations to add another layer to the story. One person I hope to read more about it Cyrus, her fellow investigator, who seems to have an almost reverential relationship towards his wife, which reveals so much about his own psyche. Nora’s relationship with Søren is also fascinating in its own right and you never know if things are going to go sideways with them or the other side characters. The Priest is erotic, chilling and always emotional. You can never assume anything. Excellent read!

This is the first book I have read by the author. The Priest is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I must admit I was more than intrigued when I learn more about the main characters. Mistress Nora, Soren and Kingsley are all in the previous books but Cyrus the private investigator is the new character in this tale.
Told in different points of view, this fast-paced dark thriller w is quite riveting, I couldn’t put it down. Nora is a strong character with a lot of issues but otherwise can hold her own. Cyrus is a reformed womaniser and is totally dedicated and looking forward to his wedding to Catherine. There are a lot of clues thrown about which makes this book very entertaining.
The story is based on New Orleans, mysterious, dark and thrilling very much like Mistress Nora the Domme. Although this can be read as a standalone I would rather recommend that you read the previous books in this Original Sinners series. I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
When I first encountered Søren and Nora, in Tiffany Reisz’s novella The Gift, I had no idea that I’d still be chasing their story, quite a few years later. This is a testament to the power of Tiffany Reisz’s vision for these characters (and Kingsley) and their story arcs. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear she is finished with them any time soon.
One of the great things about this series is how Reisz uses conflict to draw Søren and Nora (and Kingsley) closer. There are other lovers, there are days and weeks and months spent apart, there is even a child–yet Søren and Nora (and Kingsley) and their untraditional, avant-romance are strong and unified.
The conflict here entails a crime that Nora helps investigate. The incident affects her not just because it involves a priest, but because other elements act as a trigger of sorts. Nora has to reframe her relationship with Søren (who is going through his own stuff), which comes with risks. Nora and Søren have stuck to a particular narrative where their relationship is concerned, and with this book, Tiffany Reisz forces them to reexamine it. This is a bold choice on Reisz’s part because her readers are fully invested in Søren and Nora (and Kingsley) being together.
The one weakness in this book–and it’s a weakness I’ve felt previously–is Søren. We’ve consistently been in the hearts and minds of Nora and Kingsley, and as this book makes very apparent, we need Søren’s narration. We only get in Nora’s head, and the new layers in her and Søren’s relationship begs for his perspective. He reveals bits of it to Nora, and perhaps that’s the point. We only know what Nora knows, and we have to respond accordingly. But Søren’s opaqueness is becoming more difficult to sustain.
Søren is my favorite character. Maybe that’s why I want more of him, and maybe that’s why Tiffany Reisz keeps him just out of reach. Maybe we aren’t meant to know him as we know Nora and Kingsley. Yet I love Nora, and the more I get to know her, the more I love her. With The Priest, my love grew even stronger. (Kingsley, on the other hand, remains the least interesting of the trio to me.)
I need the next installment of Søren and Nora. I need to know how what they affected in this book will impact their relationship. Do you hear me, Tiffany Reisz? I NEED MORE.
I don’t think I’ll ever stop wanting more Original Sinners. I absolutely loved being back in the company of Nora, Søren and Kingsley again. Tiffany Reisz has mentioned that The Priest can be read as a standalone and I do believe that to be true. However, if this is your first time reading a book from this series then please go back to the very beginning which is The Siren and enjoy one of the best series I have ever read.
The author approached this story differently to the others in this series and on the whole I loved it. This is more of a mystery/suspense type of story which has Nora assisting Cyrus to establish the reasons behind another character’s actions. I absolutely loved the interactions and friendship that Nora and Cyrus built. I thought that the author wrote this ‘who done it’ incredibly well that after a certain point I didn’t want to put the book down until all the answers had been revealed. I absolutely love Nora – I can’t get enough of her. Her one liners and interactions with individuals are amazing. I wish I had her personality and of course her Viking too!!
As well as the suspense in this story, I felt the questions that were raised were very thought provoking. The author wrote this part perfectly in my opinion and by delving into the past, it actually made me see the actions of Nora, Søren and King in a different light and appreciate some of the choices that they made.
You know that Søren and Nora together means kink and I will always love seeing them together. However, I think you’ll find erotic scenes in the book when you least expect them and I’m certain you are now desperate to know what I am referring to. Just make sure you grab a fan or have a cold shower ready for when you reach that chapter (It’s not Kingsley either!).
I award The Priest 4 stars and a recommendation for you to read this. There were a few times in the book when I wished for the story to go at a slightly faster pace but the latter part I couldn’t put down.
WARNING: Due to sexual content, this story is for mature (18 and over) audiences only.
The 9th installment of The Original Sinners series is here, and oh man is it a journey! This story takes us into some of the darker realities of life, makes us question things we thought we knew, and brings us more of our favorite sinners as they try and settle into their new lives in New Orleans.
As is the case when you pick up a novel from this author, you are immediately immersed in her world. Each time I read one of these stories, it feels like a homecoming, and these characters feel like old familiar friends. One of the things I most enjoy is that these stories stay fresh and new despite this now being the ninth book (not including the other various novellas that have been put out).
Even the introduction of a new (totally vanilla) character only heightens the enjoyment of the reader, watching as Nora, Søren, and even Kingsley open Cyrus’ eyes to a world he knew nothing about brought about more than one laugh out loud moment (and can we take a moment to talk about the friendship forged between him and Nora? I adored every moment they spent exchanging witty comebacks). There were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, and a conclusion that I admit at first I didn’t expect. Ms.Reisz definitely makes the reader think about some rather tough topics that they may not want to address.
However, unlike prior novels in this series, I do think that you need to have read at least one of the other novels in this series for this one to truly make sense (especially parts of the ending). Nora especially has a beautiful ARC when you see how far she’s come from the first book. I will definitely read more from this author!
As a non-practicing Catholic this book sent shivers up & down my spine! It’s harrowing mystery wrap around all the characters all contributed little bits and pieces to solve the crime of suicide or murder. For all that is holy, this story will grab you by the short hairs until you scream for mercy but the torment doesn’t stop here. Freaking A!
The Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz is one of my favorite series ever. I fell in love with this cast of characters and love each new installment in the series. I learned long ago to never take anything at face value in the series, and have to say that once again Ms. Reisz kept me guessing with The Priest.
I loved getting to spend time with Nora, Kingsley, Søren, Juliette, and Celeste of course and I love these characters so very much and catching up with each of them since the move to New Orleans. However much of the story takes place with Nora and a PI who is hired to figure out why a Catholic priest had called Nora right before he committed suicide. Cyrus is the PI who steps in with Nora’s help to figure out exactly what happened. We learn a good bit about Cyrus and his fiancée Paulina as Nora and Cyrus work together. I really enjoyed the mystery portion of the story and also enjoyed having new people in the Original Sinners world. While I couldn’t see Cyrus and Paulina joining the world full-time, it was fun to see Nora make friends with a man she didn’t actually sleep with.
As the mystery of the priest unfolded, Ms. Reisz took her readers on a roller coaster ride. Nora had some big decisions to make and I honestly got answers to so many questions I had about Nora and
Søren and how they got together. Honestly it only made me love this story more to get those answers. I did feel left in limbo with Søren’s future with the Jesuits, and can’t wait to find out his decision.
The Priest was a wonderful addition to the Original Sinners series. It gave us a different look at all of these characters and I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.
Rating: 5 Stars (A+)

There can never be too much Nora, Søren and Kingsley!
This book was so different from the other OS books. This little mystery going on, which lead to me becoming a little scared for a while. And like all the other books, this one ended with me only wanting more.
A different approach to the story with a real twist for the ending.
Amazing 9th installment in a series that that is losing nothing of its magic, featuring characters who feel more real than some people in my real life. Long may it continue.
Though I have not read the beginning of this series (yes yes I know I know I need to read it.) I had no problems reading this story. I won’t say too much because I HATE giving the story line away but I will say this is a steamy, suspenseful story that will capture you from the very beginning. It is an absolute must read. I will hopefully get to the first part of this series soon and don’t worry if you haven’t read this series go ahead and read this. Like me it will have you wanting to read the others.
