Kidnapped by rebels while serving as an interpreter in Ukraine, Signe Kincaid has spent the past decade secreting out valuable information about Russian assets in the US … assets in the US to her CIA handler. She’s ready to give her life for her country, and she can hardly expect Ham to rescue her after breaking his heart over and over.
When Ham discovers the reason Signe has kept her distance, he must choose between love for his wife and love for the nation he has vowed to protect. Will he save the many? Or the few?
USA Today bestselling author Susan May Warren takes you on a global search and rescue mission where the stakes are higher than ever in this final installment of her popular series.

I wish I could give this book and series more than 5 stars! IT REALLY NEED 10 STARS!
Wow! What an ending for a series!
What do you think of when you hear the word “Valor?”
Well, after this series of books I will always think of Hamilton Jones!
The definition of the word is:
“Great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle.”
This truly describes Ham and his team. They are individuals who will go above and beyond the call of duty to protect and find answers.
The first two books in this series were full of action and suspense and kept me glued to my seat reading them. This last book was even more! It took me, the reader, to so many places. The series subtitle is “Global Search and Rescue” and believe me when I say it holds up to its name! The story moved from the hometowns in the USA to Italy. From fun family carnivals to volcanos. WOW!
In this book, there are answers to some questions left hanging in the previous books and it also clears up some questions left in some of Ms. Warren’s other series.
I will say this again because Susan May Warren has such an amazing way of writing.
This author keeps us on the seat of our chairs gripping the armrest trying to breathe. In this story, there is action, romance, drama, tense moments at a carnival, running for their lives, an exploding volcano, a tsunami, buildings crashing, shootings, pain, Oh, the pains! I’m so glad I’m not one of Susan May Warren’s characters because of all the things she puts them through. WOW! The action is non-stop and jaw-dropping.
SO, I shouldn’t have been surprised that in continuing the series, this author would keep that action-packed, high-drama, intensity going. However, there are also tender sweet moments with the many individuals in this series. I personally enjoyed reading connections to the Montana Marshalls series and many of her other characters from past series that Susan May Warren has written. It’s always fun to reconnect with past characters from her other books. It’s like we know them, and they are family.
I think I will continue to apply this disclaimer to all my reviews from now on:
I’m at a loss to have words eloquent enough to convey the depth of emotions and feelings I get each time I pick up one of Susan May Warrens’ books. In each of her books, I find wonderful life lessons of the love of God, woven in such a way that it is real and not fake or pushed.
Whatever Ms. Warren writes I’ll read because I know I’ll be captivated and blessed in a way that is life-changing.
I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
In a series titled Global Search and Rescue, you better believe the stakes are high and lives are in danger through a good portion of the book. And in The Price of Valor, Susan May Warren wraps up her series by tying together the SAR team with many of the characters from her previous Montana Marshalls series (and there are a couple names fans of Warren will recognize from her Montana Rescue series).
Intrigue, espionage, and danger are juxtaposed with romances and relationships. Warren is a master at layering her stories through multiple books. And while Ham is an ex-SEAL and protector of people he cares about, he’s also got a sympathetic nature to him that makes him even more likable.
This is a series you should read from book one so you can keep up with everything. A good portion of Ham’s story is disclosed in The Heart of a Hero. The conclusion of The Price of Valor brings everything to a long-awaited discovery and resolution for the teams that have been chasing down the truth through several books.
Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
This is book three in the Global Search and Rescue Series. It is somewhat of a stand alone book, however you miss a lot of history that adds so much meaning to this book. Therefore I would suggest reading book one, The way of the Brave, and book two, The heart of a hero first. They are all good reads and you will enjoy this book even more by reading them in order.
We reconnect with the Global search and Rescue team, this series does have specific people that each book will center around, however they really focus on the entire team and many different aspects of the many characters. I really enjoy reconnecting with this entire team.
Book three focus’ on the handsome former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones. He is still in love with his wife, Signe Kincaid, even though he has thought her dead for many years. Ham and Sig have many battles to face and overcome before they can actually see if they have a second chance.
This book is full of suspense, mystery, drama, romance and so much more. I can see this series made into a TV series. I am not sure if there are anymore books left in this series or not but I would enjoy reading more about this team.
usan May Warren still does not disappoint. With her newest book, The Price of Valor, Warren had me begging for reading time, which has been extremely hard with working a full forty hour work week outside the home, homeschooling a sixth grader in the evening, and keeping the house chores in line. Reading has not been the top priority. A huge event happens in the first third of the novel, and I was at lunch at work. I did not want to return to work. The characters were hanging in peril, literally, and I had to leave them to work. I didn’t come back to release them from their danger for three whole days. How upsetting. Even through all the dilemma I went through, it is nothing compared to what Warren allowed the characters to experience. Warren writes so fast, and such wonderful stories. If you have read the Montana Rescue series, the Marshalls, and even some of her fire novels, then you will see familiar characters. I love this story. Another keeper for my shelf. I was telling another reader about Susan May Warren because they had never heard of her. How is that possible? Anyways, I truly enjoyed this “series”, and I am really anxious to see what Warren crafts next. Definitely more books for my keeper shelf.
I received a complimentary copy of The Price of Valor by Susan May Warren from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
Wow! How can so much action happen in one book? Susan May Warren does it again! When I pick up a book of hers I know I am in for a one of a kind treat. And not the kind that you want to devour, but the kind you want to savor as long as possible. The Price of Valor was unlike any other book I have read. The two main characters not only knew each other, but they were married! Not that they had seen one another, as Ham believed her to be dead, seeing the bombing of the place she was in himself. When he finds out he has a daughter he is left speechless. Knowing what he knows now, nothing will stop him from finding the love of his life. But does he know her at all after 10 years?
I could not get enough of this book. Warren took my breath away, and I was left with out a clue of what could possibly happen next. The best kind of book is when you try to guess where you might be taken, and find out you were completely wrong. From one disaster to another I was in for the long haul and loved every minute of it. If you have read the other books in the Global Rescue series, then you already know you have to read this one. If this is the first book from the series you picked up, you are still in luck, as this can easily be a stand alone novel as well. That being said, buy the whole series! The books were so much fun to read, and you’ll get to see some of your favorite characters again from previous novels in this one.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romance with the perfect amount of mystery and suspense. This one is going on my keeper shelf. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Disclaimer: Susan May Warren is my sister-in-law. She did not request that I review this book. All opinions are my own.
I expected that I would be giving this book two or three stars when I was a quarter of the way through. I was frustrated with the characters and was praying that it would get better. Thankfully, I had a reason to root for Ham and Signe by the end, and I got the resolution that I wanted to a long-running plotline.

I have recently become a fan of Susan May Warren’s books. In just this year, I have read a few of her series and have gotten hooked on her books.
The Global Search and Rescue Series may be one of her most exciting series. Unfortunately, it appears this is only a three-book series.
The Price of Valor centers on the leader of the Global Search and Rescue group, Hamilton (Ham) Jones, and his CIA agent wife who he recently found out was alive with the fact that he was the father of a 10 year old daughter.
This whole series has been awesome and exciting, but this last book tops the other three. In her gripping Marshalls of Montana Series a plot was hatched that possibly implicated the female Vice President of the USA nominee. I was disappointed when that series ended without that being resolved. Slight spoiler: that gets resolved in a very dramatic and exciting way in this book. One thing I like about Warren’s writing is she pulls characters from other series into another series…..and this book had characters from the Marshalls of Montana and The Montana Rescue Series.
The author takes some of her characters to Italy and tosses them into a situation that involves an erupting volcano and tsunami. As her heroes fight for their lives while rescuing others, they also run for their lives as they are involved in international espionage, spies, and political intrigue. Warren did an excellent job on describing the events in a town hit with an erupting volcano and tsunami. It was a very gripping and exciting part of the book, though the whole book was gripping and exciting.
As always, her characters totally rocked.
Among all the drama and action, the book also dealt with Ham’s struggles to forgive his wife for deserting him for 10 years, for having a daughter he didn’t know about, and what she did to survive and work for her country.
It may seem a weird thing to do, but I clapped after finishing the book. It really was that good.
I highly recommend this book, and the whole series…..but I do advise reading the Marshalls of Montana Series first…which may be her best series ever.
I was provided a copy of this book for review purposes. All opinions in this review are my own.
Susan May Warren’s books keep getting better, and The Price of Valor puts the cherry on top of the Global Search and Rescue series sundae! While each one was fantastic, there’s something about this plotline being woven through the entire series that just makes this one explode off the page.
That’s why I love how full of action this book is – you’re sucked in from the very first page. Hamilton Jones is the perfect character for this as he’s built for battle and literally has the resume of a military superhero. To contrast this, he’s hopelessly in love with his long-missing wife and enthralled with the daughter he just found, and these gooey feelings are the perfect complement for his many muscular endeavors.
Jones doesn’t leave his team behind, though, and their adventures in Italy are the perfect showcase for what people can do when they’re brave, fit, and prepared to work together for good. I love their determination to be there for each other no matter what – that’s something I think our society needs to do more, and I love books and shows that put this quality into action.
With high-quality friendship and a long-term kind of love battling for first place in this plot, The Price of Valor stands out among other books touting the benefits of romance. The action that keeps you guessing as you tear through the story will make your guy friends just as interested in this story as you are.
Though it was hard for me to relate to Signe’s choices, it was fun to read about a new breed of female lead. I appreciate the way that Warren designed her differently and broke the mold of the stereotypical woman.
Finally, while it’s been a hard year for all earthlings this year, Americans have had extra issues piled on our plates: with the coming election, civil unrest, political uncertainty, and racial riots, there’s been a lot going on. Reading a story where people were unwaveringly loyal to the country that gives them the freedom to disagree with itself was awesome. I enjoyed the getaway to an America that recognizes that issues exist but works hard to allow for those same freedoms to be enjoyed.
The Price of Valor was the perfect ending to the Global Search and Rescue series. It ties up loose ends while ending on a bang. Now, Warren, can you just release some more books in this series anyway, please? This series is too fun to end so soon.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
I’ve been wanting to read The Price of Valor since I read page one of The Way of the Brave. The wait was beyond worth it. In the conclusion of her wonderful Global Rescue series, Susan May Warren weaves love and mayhem to a magical result.
What a fantastic finish to the Global Search and Rescue series! For that matter, this last book ties up every bit of the intrigue that ran through not only this series, but also the Montana Marshalls series. It was fun to see a few of the characters from that series appear in this book, as well.
This novel was packed with amazing action scenes, especially in Italy. Ham and Signe found themselves not only braving intense physical danger, but also painful emotional trials. Their journey back to each other was very compelling.
I loved that Orion and Jenny had a substantial storyline in The Price of Valor, as well. They had some painful truths to work through if they were ever going to have a hope of a happily ever after together.
It was wonderful to finally see everything from the previous stories pulled together, but hard to see this series come to an end. I definitely recommend the Global Search and Rescue series. The books should be read in order for sure, and will be even more enjoyable if the Montana Marshalls series is read, in order, before them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
“Wow! What a ride!” was my thoughts upon finishing “The Price of Valor”. Susan May Warren has a way of drawing you into the story and feeling like you are there with the characters. There was great truths from the Bible woven through the story. This is Ham and Signe’s story, but there is also the secondary storyline of Orion and Jenny. These books are all intertwined so much, you need to read the books in order. This book/series also ties in really closely with the Montana Marshalls series, too, so I would also recommend reading that series first also. In that way, “The Price of Valor” wraps up both the Global Search and Rescue series and the Montana Marshalls series. There were so many unexpected things that kept me on the edge of my seat to see what was going to happen. Every time I thought I had it figured out, it gave another twist! I loved this series and look forward to reading the next book that Susan May Warren writes.
I got a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and given voluntarily. No compensation was received for my review.
HIGH INTENSITY DRAMA!
THE PRICE OF VALOR (Global Search and Rescue Book #3) is a seriously loaded High Intensity Drama! Author Susan May Warren closes out this Series with a no holds barred adventure where the stakes are higher than anyone even dares to imagine! One of the main features I like about Warren’s writing is that she seamlessly includes characters from her past Series into this one and how well they interact with each other. In some cases, they may have served as SEALS together, or worked in some other branch of Law Enforcement or the CIA, or be a sibling of one of the characters or a significant other to one of the characters.
The plot of this novel centers around Former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones and whether or not the love of his life is dead. Her name is Signe Kincaid. To say they had a complicated relationship would be the understatement of all time! They started out as best friends when they were just kids. Each of them found themselves in difficult living situations because of their dysfunctional families. Each of them have ended up serving the government — him as an aforementioned Navy SEAL and unbeknownst to him, she was working undercover for the CIA. She had very mysteriously disappeared from his life and while most everyone thought she was dead, he felt deep in his soul that she was alive and needing to be rescued. The biggest clue to her survival had been when they found a ten year old girl that had survived a horrific boat explosion. She had information on her stating that she was Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones’ daughter. Their seemed to be no evidence of Signe’s death so Ham is haunted with tracking her down.
Signe was captured by rebels while serving in the Ukraine. She had been feeding Russian intel to her CIA handler. She feared for her daughter’s life so she devised a plan to get her safely to Ham. Now Signe is in the most danger she has ever been in her life! Even the bravest man she knows cannot save her now! Ham cannot shake the feeling that Signe is still alive somewhere. Here is where Warren takes readers on a Mission with Ham’s highly trained Team of Global Rescuers. They are involved in true spy games and no one knows who can be trusted. One piece of the U.S. Government’s most important data is at stake and National Security is at stake. The battle for this information is intense and epic. Warren concludes this Series with quite the BANG!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this novel by Revell & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.
The third book in the Global Search and Rescue series was intense, gripping and absolutely amazing! It can be read as a standalone, but why miss out on the adventures in the other books? This book focuses on Hamilton Jones and his wife Signe who disappeared years ago. Now Ham is focused on finding her and he ends up finding her and trouble…the terrorist kind. THE PRICE OF VALOR was so fast-paced that at times I felt like I had whiplash. With a plot that was easy to follow and mind-blowing, I think this was my favorite book of the series. I really enjoyed the easy camaraderie that Ham had with his team as well as their loyalty to each other. The scenes in Italy were unbelievable and totally awesome! One rescue scene after another! I also enjoyed the brilliant repartee between Ham and Signe, childhood friends who became sweethearts and lovers. Such a sweet combination that showed the plans that God has working out in someone’s lives. This is Christian romantic suspense that will take you into another world, a world of spies and subterfuge and horror and love. I highly recommend it and can’t wait for the next high-octane thriller from this talented author!

This story is about Ham. And who doesn’t love Ham? Hamilton Jones, that is. Ham and his team bring so must action and suspense to the pages of this book it was hard to put it down. Can Ham protect his daughter, find her mother and save them both? Who is behind this CIA conspiracy? Are Jenny and Orion going to keep their relationship together? So many reasons to keep turning the pages. I like how the author tied together characters from the previous books in the series, as well as characters from her Montana Marshalls series. Global Search and Rescue is one series I would love to see with movie adaptations, and I think The Price of Valor would be an especially good movie. Definitely recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
WOW!! What a book! It’s full of edge of your seat excitement and suspense. This is a book you don’t want to miss. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Susan May Warren’s “The Price of Valor” is a Stupendous, Christian, Romantic Thriller, by a Master Storyteller! This is former Navy Seal, Ham’s Story; he’s the Leader of Global Search and Rescue team.
The Best Rollercoasters have thrills and danger, high speeds, quick direction changes, loop-de-loops, & steep drops that leave your stomach in your throat. That about explains this Engrossing Story, you won’t be able to stop !
I Highly Recommend You this Third and final Novel, in the “Global Search and Rescue” Series!
In her conclusion to this series, Mrs. Warren keeps readers on the edge of their seats to find out how this series is going to end. In this book, readers revisit with characters from past books and the cliffhanger that was left in the previous book. This book focuses on Ham which is the one person I have been waiting to read how his story would go. Ham has recently discovered he had a daughter even though his wife is supposed to be dead. He is determined to find her or what might have happened to her. Signe is on a mission to do what she believes is right no matter what the cost. As readers reach the finale, several ongoing questions from the other books will be answered and they will catch up with several characters from previous books. I highly recommend this series and this final book! You will not be disappointed! I would suggest reading all of the books in this series.!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.
Okay, so this book was chock-full of drama, complications, and plot twists. I loved the way Susan May Warren wove the different subplots together to make a powerful finale to the Global Search and Rescue series.
Many of the characters in The Price of Valor were introduced in the previous books, but the focus was on Signe and Hamilton. We get a lot of their history through flashbacks as both characters reflect on events they went through together at various points in their story.
Signe had been through so much. A less strong-willed person would have crumbled under the weight of everything, but she just kept going. I liked that regardless of what she thought about herself, she never stopped doing what she believed was right for her family and the greater good.
At the end of the book, I knew what the bad guy wanted, at least the lead goal, but I didn’t know why. I wish this had been something that was at least revealed. Still, I was glad that justice prevailed and the good guys won the war.
While The Price of Valor is an exciting story on its own, it’s best to read the series in order as there are storylines that continue from the earlier books. You may be able to figure it out, but it will be so much more fun to read it for yourself .
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the publishers as part of the launch team; a positive review was not required.

There is so much action, romance, suspense that is does not stop until the last page. each and every scene is well described. The characters are well described. The book is well written. The themes in the story are forgiveness, loss, faithfulness, steadfastness. I commend Susan May Warren for a wonderful last book in the Search and Rescue series. Thank you to the publisher, netgalley and the author for allowing me to read and review this book. I am happy to share my review with others. i hope this book is very successful. The opinions are my own.
Wow! No one can end a series like Susan May Warren! She always brings so much faith, excitement and weaves such a thrilling ending. In fact, the whole story was fast paced, so much so, I had to take a break several times. And she brought back so many familiar characters and wove them into the story seamlessly.
Most of all, I loved that Susan May Warren gave Ham the attributes of God that he demonstrated to Signe. He forgave repeatedly, he never gave up on her, he helped and guided her, he forgave her, he walked beside her and he loved her unwaveringly. This is the lesson for us that God will do all this and even more.
“But it’s in suffering – as well as joy – that we find our faith. In times of trouble, we either draw near, or we run.”
“when we have nothing, when we are nothing, then that’s when we see that God is already there, holding us up.”
If you want devotion, compassion, connections, affection and expectation then this is the series for you!
And if you want to meet Hamburglar and Shorty!
