I might’ve ruined any chance I ever had at a meaningful relationship when I decided to become a male prostitute at eighteen, but that was okay.I paid off my mom’s debt, the rent, my sister’s hospital bills. I put food on the table and kept eviction notices at bay.It was worth it.But was it worth the price of my soul? Two years later, this job has begun to kill me in every way but physically, until … in every way but physically, until SHE comes along.
Reese is the breath of fresh air I need. She makes me smile, she makes me laugh, she makes me want more. But how can we ever be together after all the choices I’ve made?
Listing one mistake after another, these are my confessions and how we came through to the other side.

**********Contains Spoilers**********
I’ve read this book as well of the series multiple times but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I really enjoyed this book as we got Mason and Reese’s love story but from Mason’s POV instead of Reese’s. Wow, when one one of his clients made him wear a red Speedo, her dog’s bejewelled collar and leash which was bad enough but then she nearly suffocated him by pulling on the leash and chocking him so he’d get back to earning his money like she’d instructed. I’m glad we got to see what Mason’s clients were actually like, what they made him do while they were paying him, the thoughts that were running through his head and how he felt during each encounter and when he got home. There was a boat load of self-disgust and shame. My heart definitely hurt for him as he was felt degraded and his clients didn’t even treat him like a human being and he was a possession that they controlled but the feelings that went through his head when he was at Mrs. Garrison made me tear up a bit but loved seeing the moment when he found his inner light and became his own strength, spat in her face then left before she could take what was left of his soul that she and his other clients shattered. She’s such a vindictive horrible b*tch and her friend Dr Janison is just as bad. I’m sad to see the Forbidden Men Series end but thought it was a great idea to start and finish the series with Mason and Reese. I’m really looking forward to reading the Forbidden Men Next Generation Books as they’re released and loved the bonus extra Next Generation short stories about Julian Ryan, Skylar Ryan, JB Hamilton, Teagan Tenning & Rory Hart and their respective love interests. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
3.5
The Price of Mason
Mason’s POV from Price of a Kiss
Finally we get to have Mason’s POV. Mason & Reese is one of my favorite couples in the series. Its just that I probably expected too much from this book. I was really hoping that we get to have something new from Mason’s perspective and those times that he was not with Reese will be featured as well. All in all it was really nice having Mason’s POV. After reading all the books in the series it felt like a full circle especially with the extra treats at the end of the book.
I was so pumped to read this (almost last…cause Revenge Plan is coming out in May *squeeeeeeee*) installment in the Forbidden Men series. It’s mostly in Mason’ s point of view-which I loved. I also fell in love with the stories of the Forbidden Children. It was soooooooooooo heartwarming and made me smile so hard.
The Price of Mason is a follow up to Price of a Kiss but could definitely be read as a standalone. It is an entire new side to the story by giving us Mason’s POV.
“I was the kind of person that should go nowhere near a sweet, innocent girl like Reese Randall.”
I had already fallen in love with Mason a few years ago when I read Price of a Kiss. But just to be ‘in his head’ really added so much. It felt like a completely new and fresh story.
“I’m not a person to them. I’m just a good time or something vile to be avoided at all costs. And then you came along…”
The Price of Mason is a beautiful, emotional, angsty story that broke my heart then put it all back together !
-4 Stars!-
I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and excerpt can be found on *Milky Way of Books*
Back in 2014 I had just started discovering my way through Goodreads and the NA oriented books. Now the site kept recommending to me “Price of a Kiss” by Linda Kage and finally, I bought it.
And then I fell in love.
For four years I have been a fan of this series with its heartfelt messages, amazing, funny, emotional characters and lots of humorous scenes. Seeing that the book centers around Mason truly gives to the series the feeling that we come in a full circle back to the beginning and back to Reese and Mason. I enjoyed Mason’s POV, which took leaps in the time of the book and how he fell in love with Reese from his own POV.
The best part was that close to the ending he had a scene with Ten and I was giggling remembering how Ten feel in love later in the series. Oh, and there is a surprise after the book’s end too!
Linda Kage has created an unforgettable cast of characters who will stay with you even after the end of the book.
And I am still reeling over the fact that many of my favorite series have ended in 2019! Recommended and also if this is your first time seeing this book, I implore you to read all the series!
It feels like I have been waiting FOREVER for Mason’s side of the story (five long years to be exact, but who’s counting anyways because there have been some incredible stories in-between), so it only seems fitting that his and Reese’s story would both begin and end the Forbidden Men series. In Price of a Kiss, we got her side of the story and in The Price of Mason we finally got his! I have to say that it was really interesting to see some of my most beloved scenes through his eyes because I have always wondered what was going through his mind in those moments. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one wanting to know his deepest of secrets, both the bad and good.
While it truly pains me deeply to see this phenomenal series come to an end, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect story to end with. Mason and Reese are the reason I fell in love with the series and kept coming back book after book. After spending five extraordinary years with these characters I feel as if I’ve become a part of their world and it’s going to be so hard to let them go. Although I am hoping for many books featuring the next generation…aka…their children, but only time will surely tell.
Fans of the Forbidden Men series will find themselves hopelessly in love with this new side of Mason and Reese. Even though you don’t technically have to read any of the previous books to enjoy this story, I can’t help but recommend (no wait…I’m telling you) to read every single one of the books in order. Trust me when I say that you will NOT regret a single moment that you spend with the men of Forbidden!
