A delicious and all new reimagining of Lauren Blakely’s original fake fiancé romance!I don’t mean to just blurt it out. “Why, yes I’m engaged!”But once I say it to a potential client, there’s only one logical thing to do — cast the role of my fake fiancé.Easy enough. As a casting director, my job is to find the most talented players for every part, so I choose dreamy, edgy, sexy, sarcastic … sexy, sarcastic Reeve. And I sign him up for one week in the role of mine.
It’s not as if I’ll fall for him in five nights even if we get a little cozy one night at theater. It’s not as if I’ll want more even after a scorching afternoon in the stacks of the New York Public Library.
I can’t let myself fall because on Friday at midnight the curtain drops on our fake romance . . .

My only complaint is this book was too short! Otherwise, this fake fiancé romance hit all the feels.
Lauren Blakely, you are easily one of my favorite and instant buy authors. You sure know how to write a good steamy romance. I love a good fake fiance or fake boyfriend romance and this book is one of its finest. From the very start of the book, it was nothing but good banter and steamy moments from the two characters. If only the book would have been a little less predictable then I probably would have given it five stars but nonetheless I still very much enjoyed this gem of a book. I loved that the main heroine was obsessed with her dog just like I am. I devoured this book and read it super fast. That happily ever after ending was perfect even if it felt a little rushed towards the end of the book. Overall, I did love this story and would recommend it to any romance lover.
This book was just fun!
Another fake engagement story? This one is at times gentle, sometimes hot and has a few scenes that had me laughing out loud. Reeve is a total gentleman. Ahhh.
Nice but short.
Every one of Lauren Blakey’s books are fantastic. I have read over thirty. She is my favorite author. She writes with so much imagination. Wit and humor all combined with great characters and romance
Cute story.
Great read.
It was captivating, the characters were likeable, and it was really fun to see the relationship develop. Ms. Blakely always writes great books.
Reeve was sexy, sweet and intelligent. Sutton was fierce, intelligent and confident, except when it comes to relationships. Great storyline and amazing characters!
LOVED tgis book!
Just could not get into the story. The first 2/3 chapters introduced characters that were bland and I felt no connection to. It might have gotten better but i had no desire to learn more about these characters.
A fun entertaining storyline. An enjoyable story with fun characters.
Sex and other shiny objects was her best. Haven’t found any other worth reading
enjoyed reading!
Hot plot between casting director and young actor faking a relationship, until they both fall for each other. I liked the banter between characters which made it an easy-read.
Read this in one sitting…couldn’t put it down
I just didn’t like the style of writing and admittedly skipped quite a few pages. I can see some people enjoying it but not me.
“The Pretending Plot” (nook) was a fun quick read. The plot was a twist on fake girlfriend/boyfriend/fiance.
Looking forward to reading other books in this series.
