Really good book! It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
The President’s Daughter by former President Clinton with outstanding thriller author James Patterson is absolutely outstanding. Simply put, WOW, they knocked it out of the park with this captivating thriller. Without giving away any spoilers, I found this book to be a riveting, nail-biting, chilling, extremely well-written action-packed, suspense-filled novel. I cannot recommend reading it highly enough and rated it a high five.
President Clinton writes engrossing stories. While this book might not be as good as his first collaboration with James Paterson, The President is Missing; I enjoyed reading every page. The President takes the readers through the many channels of government, where we learn of the difficult choices a President must make. The fictional character, Michael Keaton, isn’t an ordinary President. He’s an ex-Navy Seal who puts honor to his country above all else. However, Keaton doesn’t enjoy playing the games of politics. And when his daughter is kidnapped by the cruelest terrorist alive, he uses whatever weapons and friends he has at his disposal. A few twists and turns, and we’re taken on a rollercoaster ride through hell and back.
I highly recommend reading this book and The President is Missing.
Riveting Nail-Biter! Unexpected twists and turns. When you awake at 5 AM thinking about the book you are reading and have to get up to finish it, then it’s a best seller. I can’t help but think this must have been incredibly difficult for President Clinton to write. So much of the content seems so personal. So many details were included about SEAL operations, Secret Service missions and weapons. Things the general public take for granted. There are scenarios that you don’t see coming which lead you to wonder how the book will end. Captivating!
I enjoyed it so much more than the first book. This one was very similar to the early Tom Clancy style. I read it and then my husband read it. He read it just as quickly as I had!
I hope they hurry up and write more together. Love their books!!!
I love these president books from James Patterson with President Clinton. I find them very interesting.
I considered this the best of the three books written by these two authors. Definitely kept you turning the pages to know how this was going to end. I would definitely recommend this book.
Action-packed, thrilling, and twisty!
The President’s Daughter is a propulsive, entertaining thriller that takes you into the life of former US President and ex-Navy Seal Matt Keating as he does everything in his power to find and recover his kidnapped teenage daughter from a sadistic terrorist driven by vengeance.
The writing is tight and crisp. The characters are astute, tenacious, and authentic. And the plot, with its short, intense chapters, keeps you on the edge of your seat as it immerses you, page after page, into a world full of terrorism, politics, revenge, corruption, coercion, military operations, and Secret Service drama.
Overall, The President’s Daughter is a meticulous, compelling, intricate mystery by this dynamic writing duo that I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.
I missed The President is Missing (book 1) but I don’t feel that it hampered my enjoyment of this new book. There was certainly enough of the previous book scattered through the storyline that I knew what had happened previously.
I really enjoy a decent thriller that I can sink my teeth into and there is certainly plenty to chew over here. The chapters are short, which made digesting that political babble somewhat easier for me. Especially as being Scottish I only have a vague outline of the US political apparatus but I have a few American friends who kept me on the straight and narrow whenever I got a bit lost.
Keating is perfect as the former President, ousted by his former VP. Now living the life of a civilian (if any ex-President could be labelled as such), he and his family are getting on with their lives. But someone has it in for Michael and they are going after his weak spot – his daughter! But this first kid is not just about to lie down and be the perfect abductee. She will use every tip and trick she soaked up from her Secret Service detail and she is determined she will get back home.
Keating and his trusty secret service agent and few assorted allies are going to take things to the next level. The USA may not negotiate with terrorists and crackpot kidnappers, but Keating and Crew can take a few “shortcuts” through bureaucracy since they are no longer part of the administration. Michael’s time in the Teams is sure about to come in handy!
Thoroughly enjoyed my tromp through the quagmire that is politics in the DC arena!
