Very fun read considering some of the inside information that would have been available to Bill Clinton. Occasionally you can see Clinton’s political spin. Enjoyed it immensely!
Great plot, exciting and difficult to put down
I did not enjoy it.
Wow – what a great book – last chapter – a little preachy but the rest of it – 1st rate
Very well written quick paced would recommend
Typical Patterson… but the in-put from President about specific details of behind-the-scenes activities in the WH make this worth reading. Good pool-side reading
This is my first James Patterson novel and I was pleasantly surprised. It has very different plot, something you hope never happens. I don’t know how much Clinton helped on this novel, but it had a lot of specific Washington DC details. Overall, a very good book.
The first few chapters in Clinton’s voice entertaining, the rest far fetched and trite
This book was almost as scary as 1984 or The Handmaid’s Tale! It has a plausible premise and more twists, turns, and misdirection than a mountain road. Patterson and Clinton delivered a piece of fiction worthy of a major motion picture deal! Loved this book!
WHAT A FABULOUS BOOK!!
I was very skeptical at first having never heard of someone who would help clear up one’s credit file. After being turned down for a home loan I filed for my credit report to see what all was on it. To my dismay there were duplications, misinformation as well as things that weren’t even mine. No wonder I couldn’t get the loan. A friend from work said to contact METRONET CREDIT SOLUTION who had helped her in the past. I contacted them and explained my situation to them, they promised to help me. I was so amazed when I pulled my report after 11days and all the negative items, duplications and misinformation had all been cleared from my report and my score had risen to 750’s. I strongly recommend their services to any one in need of credit fix contact them via @gmail.COM">METRONETCREDITSOLUTION@gmail.COM or call their helpline 205 518 3032.
Once you start this book, do not plan to get back out of your chair!! You will not be able to put it down. I was a little skeptical, but I was proven very wrong! Great book!
The President Is Missing by James Patterson and Bill Clinton is a political thriller that felt all too real. A massive cyber-terror attack is imminent and even President Jonathan Duncan is suspected of colluding with terrorists. He believes there is a traitor in his inner circle. Then, the president disappears. Is he on the run? Was he kidnapped? Is something else happening? Can the cyber-attack be stopped?
The story is action packed, but it is also filled with the tough decisions a president may have to make in the event of an imminent attack President Duncan had significant character depth and the supporting characters played a diverse mix of supportive, antagonistic, and contrarian roles.
The novel is well-written and thought-provoking. While it may be over-the-top in a few places, it still has plenty of thriller action, comradery, tough decisions, and political ploys to keep a reader engaged and turning the pages. The speech in the epilogue will not appeal to all and was somewhat sententious, but I understand why it was included.
Themes in the book include quest for power, cyberterrorism, murder, grief, sensational versus factual news, keeping egos in place (or not), trust, love for one’s country, trust, friendship, envy, resentment, bitterness, and much more.
Overall, the story kept me engaged with its convincing and compelling characters and plenty of action. This was an entertaining and intriguing thriller for me.
Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.
This was an entertaining read, if a little contrived. Easy to imagine a film based on the story. The presidential details were interesting but too much at times. The tendency to waffle slowed the story down. There was a lot of moralising, just to ensure we understood the president was “a good guy”. There was also a cast of thousands – not sure we needed the name and title of everyone in the room. What was the point of the long speech at the end? We already knew what had happened. Having said all that, I did enjoy it and will probably buy the sequel.
Frankly, I didnt like it. Never caught my full attention, wasn’t as action packed as I had anticipated.
If you can get past the first few chapters, it gets very fast paced and, once that happens, you can’t put this one down.
I wanted to read without interruption because it was so good.
Read a long time ago but was entertaining and suspenseful. Liked it.
It was a great book, would have given 5 stars if Clinton’s name wasn’t on it.
Story plot was great. Shadowy characters and intriguing ideas. By too many slow boring pages of insight and ideas ruined it. Sometimes a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Other times it’s just plain boring.
