This was a really good book. The whole plot scared me to death with what could happen.
I highly recommend this book.
I’m a huge Patterson fan so i was intrigued with the premise of this book. The characters were so amazing. i loved President Jonathan Lincoln Duncan. This book started out slow but once you get sucked into, you can’t stop
I didn’t care for this book. There was a large amount of description of e wry one who works I government. Yet only the president can save the world (while fighting a threatening disease and acting against medical advice)
I felt pulled into the story. Found that I couldn’t put it down!
Timely, fast paced, true thriller. All the details and inside information that only an actual president could provide combined with the fictional twists & turns that Patterson provides ,this is a great read! You won’t be disappointed! Didn’t want to put it down.
Excellent I could not put it down
really a great read!!!!!
Good read — a bit slow in the beginning — but a great who done it. Last chapter a bit too politically preachy and could have been reduced to just a couple of pages — but overall very good.
The best James Patterson collaboration! Would highly recommend this book.
This book was difficult to put down.
The book is timely and could happen.
This is a summer read that you don’t want to miss.
Bill Clinton and James Patterson
THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING
It’s a high-stakes chess game . . . if chess were a team sport.
Consequences of losing could be U.S. becoming the “largest third world country,” paralyzed by a spreading computer virus . . . a “there but for the grace of God” moment of humility. Victory will require creativity, expertise, and cooperation, but how to know whom to trust?
This is a gripping tale, and deep. I put post-its on lines I want to remember . . . and when I finished, the book looked like a porcupine.
I liked the behind the scenes look at national security efforts, the number of women in leadership, the values expressed — and the suspense. The repeated plea to forget political expediency, not worry about the next election, and put all work toward stopping the threat resonated as truth. “It’s the job you promised to do.” A job for “a born leader who kept his head and found a way.”
I especially love the inspiring speech at end . . . “in order to form a more perfect union,” an ongoing effort . . . and hope. “The American dream works when our common humanity matters more than our interesting differences and when together they create endless possibilities.”
I didn’t predict the ending!!! Loved it.
Was definately food for thought on how our government works, could work, maybe works-leaves on thinking. A couple good twists and entertaining characters.
I find it difficult to read. I hate books written in “First person / Present tense”! Most books are written in “Third person / Past tense”.
I am still reading it, but it is a struggle, which makes it less enjoyable.
For a while Patricia Cornwell was writing in that voice.
I am wondering if anyone else feels this way about books written that way.
It is a fun read.
Could see the end coming from the start of the book! I slogged through it hoping that maybe, just maybe, it would get interesting. A real sleeper.
I didn’t want to like this book but I found that I just couldn’t put it down. I loved that it was so current and I felt that the fear of cyber attacks is real & possible. I loved the character of the President in this story and how dedicated he was to actually saving the United States no matter what it took. He has integrity and wisdom. And I loved reading about some of the back story of how the security people work with & watch over the POTUS. Well done Mr. Patterson & your assistant, Mr. Clinton! I hope we will see more stories about President Duncan in the future.
Excellent
When I first saw this book I thought, “what an interesting collaboration…”, and bought the book.
There are a lot of characters, but the story is written in such a way that it reminds who that character is. So, I didn’t feel lost in details or flipping back through the book trying to figure out was in this scene. Speaking of details… the plot in this book is believable and not a little scary! I was thinking throughout some of it, “Could this really happen?”, and I’m sure it could…
Also, I currently live in Wilkesboro, NC, which is were the president in this book is from. Way cool!
I found it well written and I could see the elements of both James Paterson and President Clinton in the words used to describe the story. The President’s personality comes out in how he speaks and describes how the government works. The way the action unfolds has James Paterson all over it. They make a great team. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
