Disliked it! The plot was crammed with so many implausible events. The characters were someone’s wet dream ( Bill Clinton’s?)
Story about a very real possibility in our internet-dependent world.
It’s a really good book. It’s one of those you have a hard time putting down.
It was the usual Patterson formula with a little insider information from a view of the President from a President. Okay if you have nothing else to do
I really enjoyed this book. It had all the elements of a good adventure/ mystery and was plausible. It answers questions that you might find yourself asking given the position of the president and all that being the president entails. I had a difficult time putting it down.
Suspenseful and a quick read. Very relevant to today’s politics.
As the president is being investigated for possibly making deals with a terrorist and impeachment looms in front of him, a new problem arises. An act of cyberterrorism that would destroy the US. The president goes missing during this in order to deal with it quietly and to figure out who the traitor in the White House is.
I enjoyed this book a great deal, even though the possibility of it happening is very real and very scary. It is extremely fast paced ordeal over the course of 3 days and so much happens that some may have to take notes. I did like how the chapters alternate between certain characters. It makes the story flow easier. I did find some of the story line a bit unrealistic, but with Bill Clinton as a co-writer I would hope that the presidential parts are at least close. There are also a few twists that caught me off guard, but in a good way. Surprises that the reader doesn’t see coming are always good in my opinion. There are great characters in the book, even some of the bad guys are likable. Especially Bach, the assassin. I found myself feeling sorry for her and her circumstances.
I found the best part of the book was the speech the president gives at the end. It was extremely well written.
WOW! This book is so scary, because it is so realistic. What the heck would happen if we were cyberattacked? The President is Missing kept me up each night, just so I could see how it ended. Hopefully we are prepared to abort an attack if one ever happened in the United States. Awesome read!!
A good read
kinda disappointed in this one. Love Patterson usually but this one not so much
Excellent, page-turning read. Really good, strong characters. An exciting read! Highly recommended!!
The epitome of a “page-turner.” Exciting and intriguing, with a level of realism about the President and White House that typical fiction writers couldn’t ever achieve.
James Patterson is superb as usual, however it is evident when Clinton is writing as it is slow, sluggish and boring. Not the best team.
Read this book with much trepidation. Oh my gosh!! What would we do if this situation actually happened!?! I’m praying that most Americans would pull up theirbig boy (girl) pants and work hard to change what needs to be changed. A dramatic read for sure!
Was a little disappointed – perhaps reading rather than audio book would have been better.
The first quarter/third of the book needed a better editor to tighten up the story. But after that, it flowed much better.
Vintage James Patterson. I believe this is a well-informed story about the possibilities of cyber-terrorism. Scary and believable!
How true could this story be?!? As I was listening, I could envision something like it happening, which really makes you wonder if something hasn’t already be intercepted. The story seemed so real that it was making you think – did this happen, would this happen, is it happening now? An intriguing read for your next cross-country trip!
Interesting tale about cyber warfare
Somehow or somehow I did not like the story
