Great read
This was a great boom ty
Totally enjoyed this book, the writing, the characters, the style……
If I read it, it was excellent !!!!! I READ IT. JAK, jr.
First off if i know the author is no longer with us which in it self a tragedy, this book made me laugh and this book Made me cry, high praise indeed. Absolutely riveting, the characters fairly leap off the page but the ending is truly heartbreaking .such is life.
I was not certain at first chapter, but because it’s written so different I really enjoyed it.
The story & characters were good.
I’d recommend it!
This book was tedious and conflicted. The premise of a mysterious, one-eyed stranger wandering into Farewell, New Mexico, a dusty border town full of corruption. He’s known only as The Preacher, an ex-Priest, ex-Special Forces commando, and now a professional gambler who has given up on his own salvation … but is determined to find justice for a murdered Vietnam vet… even if it means taking on the entire, God forsaken town. The professional poker aspect was tedious. You don’t have to go into all the minutia every. single. time. you play a game. We get it. Conflicted would be the rest of the book. How can a man of the cloth (even though he’s “given” it up but still practices his faith) still gamble and play god with victims? I finished the book but it took some struggling to get there.
Very good action, adventure mystery with interesting characters.
Good read but too much poker info for a non poker player
An excellent read.
I’m not quite done, but I am REALLY enjoying this book. Love the main character as well as the other individuals.. Very interesting plot. One of the more enjoyable reads I’ve had lately. Look forward to more in the series.
OK modern western, nothing special but readable
Very interesting book with an imperfect hero who has a bit of magic but not in the storyline.
Good writing, thin plot.
Liked characters and plot twists.
Story started well then dragged. Became predictable.
I enjoyed it.
too much poker
