William Kordes fixes problems. Some people called him lucky when he invented one of the most popular phone accessories of all time. Will knows it’s more than just luck. He’s been working hard to overcome a painful past and succeed since he was a kid. Now that he’s made it big, he set out to change the world. He figured he was well on his way with the Heart Wish Foundation and Hallway Innovations, … Foundation and Hallway Innovations, until he met her.
Unlike most women, Mariam Fischer wasn’t impressed by his good looks, charm, or his money.
Worse yet, Mariam doesn’t want his help, insisting she must cope with the devastating effects of fibromyalgia alone.
If he knew what was good for him, Will would walk away.
After all, she told him to go.
If Will ever needed to invent a solution to a problem, this would be the one.
Funny thing about Will, he never takes the easy way out.

It’s hard to know what else I can say about Mary Crawford’s books that I haven’t already said in my reviews of her other books. I’ve loved them all, but I think this one is my favorite in the series. I’ve read enough of the books that the characters are like family to me now. The empathy shown for people with disabilities is overwhelming. Don’t pass on the chance to read The Power of Will. Your time will be well spent and if you’re like me, you won’t be able to put it down!
Another supremely enjoyable romance. I enjoyed watching these characters work to overcome their ideas of themselves and push to give to others. They had things on their pasts to work through and decisions about their futures to make.
5 stars just isn’t enough for The Power of Will by Mary Crawford
Not even 20 % into this book and I am in tears. Now when I was about to read this book I was prewarned that it may touch too close to home for me as I struggle with my Fibromyalgia everyday. I put on a front, I hide my pain and try to live a normal life and I pay for it later in private. Once again Crawford expertly crafts the words in my mind and heart and executes them in a way that completely blows my mind. As if she peered into my brain and pulled my feelings out and put them in words that I could never find.
This one line made me unable to see from the tears. “ It’s just that people like Mariam and me-you know, the different ones-we deserve to be loved and respected just the way we are… without being fixed”
Another favourite powerful line “Like I said, Ralph’s lies wrote on the soul of me and changed who I am as a person”. WOW there aren’t even enough words to express how much that touched me and is beyond relatable to every person and an experience they’ve gone through!
And I also have to say wow to these vows though! Each vows are different unique and tear jerkingly beautiful!
To recap once again another amazing book with all the feels and amazingly deep insight into how those of us with the “invisible disease “ fight each day. From the bottom of my heart Mary, I thank you for this book
WOW, talk about emotions I went through them all.
This book is about overcoming or accepting disabilities.
The author is a master at this.
I really didn’t want this book to end!!
As a long-time reader of Crawford, I figure I know what to expect … some surprises awaited me in this book though. The characters’ inner dialogue felt more real to me than previous Crawford books. The banter, everyday conversations, and relationships did as well.
This was a fun read because of strong characters, real-life, relatable struggles and the drama that Crawford always provides … but also because of what seems to be marked improvement in Crawford’s style. Super excited for the next, but this one’s staying with me for some time, holding me over.
4 stars.
