It’s no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle … chapter, Tolle introduces readers to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind. He awakens readers to their role as a creator of pain and shows them how to have a pain-free identity by living fully in the present. The journey is thrilling, and along the way, the author shows how to connect to the indestructible essence of our Being, “the eternal, ever-present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death.”

I have read and re-read. Keep this on my nightstand. His books are all wonderful.
Eckhart Tolle reminds us of the tremendous power of now, of staying in the present moment, which is all that we ever have. If we can do this, nothing that life can throw at us, will change who we are.
A brilliant read, although took sometime to get through as very heavy
A wonderful inspirations book for those who need just that.
I loved reading this book (several times!) It gave me great insight as to how the mind works. It transformed my thinking into non-thinking and awareness! I recommend The Power of Now. Read it more than once and you will gain great insight on the useless, inconsequential, and insubstantial thoughts we all engage in. It leads us to more awareness, and little by little, awakening and enlightenment.
This book explains in easy understandable language , the true nature of ourselves. It’s a wonderful self discovery book in contemporary language with contemporary examples .
I thought his previous book was great, but The Power of Now takes you even more deeply into understanding life, your purpose in it, the powers of living deeply in a spiritual consciousness. He is one of our true masters.
a classic
A great way to step into consciousness. The format probes the concepts & poses questions. Whilst the exercises help you practice what you have learnt. I have become the witness to my thoughts & my egoic mind. I am now more enlightened & conscious.
When I discovered this book, I was so moved by the few words I read that I was unable to put it down. Eckhart’s writing speaks directly to my heart, confirming and enhancing much of what I had learned from spiritual practice. This book gave me new tools with which to forge a more direct relationship with a non-religious, unconditionally loving God.
Engrossing, but does it even work?
A bit boring but contains some useful information one can impart to everyday life.
It’s a bit dry but the kind of book that will change you if you allow it. I read it years ago and it still will pop into my head from time to time.
This is a very interesting book. Read it twice! After the first read I was a bit confused but then I read it again and it hit home. It’s so simple – it’s hard! Dumb down and just listen and stop questioning as i did.
Tolle has written a very honest and personal story that manages to be approachable to everybody of any age or background. This book has a message unencumbered by any particular set of traditions, culture, dogmae or hierarchies and Tolle is plain-speaking, unpretentious and often quite funny. There is simply nobody the least like him. I heartily recommend his work and I always buy it for everybody I know. Pure joy.
Very powerful. Very accessible. Might change your life…
Great book for the Lost ones
This is a fantastic read, in fact reading it over you get even more out of it. Wonderful, very well written inspirational, and gets you to really thinking about what matters
This is the most important and powerful spiritual book that I have ever read. I have read it way back in 2002, and since then, the seeds of awakening have grown more and more into being more and more Awakened. Combined with a steady meditation practice throughout the years and other Buddhist great books, it eventually led me to the understanding and practice of mindfulness, which is the Buddhist counterpart of what Eckhart refers to in his book as “presence”. Mindfulness is usually cultivated in your everyday meditation practice, but there are many many ways in which you can practice being mindful in your everyday activity, in your mundane and social life, other than just sitting on your pillow and practice meditation. This led me – after I started writing in May 2018 – to compile my own book about mindfulness, inspired by my own practice, which will be published somewhere in 2020.
But to get to Eckhart’s book, what you can expect from reading his book is becoming more aware, more still at your core, more present as he says, having more tranquility and clarity. Presence is a state of being where one is relaxed but also alert, where the clarity of mind supersedes our Ego’s continuous mental chatter. If this book will do only this one thing for you then you will consider the investment of acquiring a copy of “The Power of Now” priceless. In this book, he also refers to and comments a lot on our own Ego, our mental projection of who we “think we are”, that is all of the time the “unconscious us” and that stands in our way of being Awakened, of practicing on our spiritual path the right way.
There is always now. The future will also happen in the Now, and the past, when it happened, was also now. The importance of being present, of being rooted in the Now is stressed in this book continuously, in so many ways, so we can understand how we can be more rooted in our presence, in our consciousness, in the moment of Now. And this, as a result, will generate tremendous happiness because our minds will clear up, our emotional field will also clear up and we will start to be grateful for all the things we have, once we are conscious and rooted in the Here and Now. There is tremendous happiness that being conscious or being aware of is generating.
You definitely have to read this “easy to read” book by Mr. Eckhart Tolle, make notes, read it again, read certain passages again, keep it on your night bookshelf. It will definitely speed up your spiritual practice and it will change your life.
Namaste
Love everything Eckart Tolle!!
