With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the frontline between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies. Fate has other plans. The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but … out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve. Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.
But the gods are sensing a greater threat.
Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that’s an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.
The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.
Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.
And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.

The Power is the second book in the Titan series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. I just had so much fun getting to see these characters again you just can’t help but root for them. I was just drawn into this story and I just felt so much for Seth and Josie and everything they are going through. My emotions were just all over the place and I was so sad to turn the last page. I immediately wanted more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
“I had to prove what he believed wasn’t true. Prove that he was the total of everything he’d done and not just the dark things he was ashamed of, and I would do so, because I loved him and accepted him for who he was, for all his faults. That was what love meant. Love fostered courage.”
The Power picks up where The Return left off. Josie’s Demigod powers have been unleashed and she is training with Seth to not only learn how to fight but also how to use her powers as well. The discord between the Halfs and the Pures is getting worse and fights are breaking out all over the University campus. It’s during one of these fights that Alex and Aiden return from the Underworld and I was so happy to see these characters again. Apollo finally comes through with another born Demigod in the form of Hercules to help them locate the other Demigods that are needed to fight the Titans. The action really picks up when they travel to California to find the Demigod located there and then the book ends with something that had me crying and wanting to immediately start reading the next book.
Josie is such a kick ass heroine but she also has her doubts and I love that about her. In the middle of a daimon fight she has to remind herself that she can do this, and then she lets her training take over. She has her heart broken by Seth, we’ll get to that in a minute, feels rejected by her father Apollo but she keeps going. Don’t get me wrong, she has a pity party for a few days when Seth breaks her heart but she realizes that she needs to keep training so even though she’s unhappy she pushes through it. Then she decides to fight for Seth and she finally gets through to him. She believes in Seth even when he doesn’t believe in himself and that makes my heart so happy because I hate how feels about himself.
Seth, oh dear vulnerable Seth. Yes, he does at one point break Josie’s heart, but he truly believes that he’s doing the right thing and that she would be better off without him around her. That entire situation breaks my heart for both of them, Seth because he feels like he doesn’t deserve happiness and Josie because she doesn’t realize that he broke things off with her because he is himself broken. When Josie tells him that she is in love with him and he responds by telling her that he has never had anyone tell him that they love him or that they are in love him, it made me cry so hard. I hate everything that he’s gone through in the past and the way that it’s made him see himself. I’m so glad that he has Josie to love him and show him that he is worthy of love.
All the other characters in this book make me simultaneously happy and mad. I loved seeing Alex and Aiden again, they are one of my favorite couples and it’s wonderful seeing them after the events in the Covenant series. Apollo makes me laugh with his perfect, or maybe not so perfect, timing but I also want to throat punch him for his apparent indifference to Josie. She wants to talk to him so much, to get to know him, and to find out what is going on with Erin and her mom but he never sticks around for very long. And the way he was with Alex right in front of Josie hurts my heart because he barely glanced at her. Having already read this series a few times, I know why he’s this way, but it doesn’t change the way I feel about it as this point. Hercules is annoying, and I want to throat punch him as well. I love Luke and Deacon. And I just want to say that everyone needs a best friend like Deacon.
There are times when you can definitely tell that this is a second book in a series but it didn’t stop me from loving it. I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book!
“I’m not saying he’s all forgiven or that he’s perfect. He’s not. I know that. But he’s Seth. He’s not just the sum of only half of what he’s done. He’s whole and he’s not going to be referred to from here on out as the God Killer. That is not who he is. And he needs help, and because I love him – because I’m in love with him – I’m going to help him instead of give up on him.”

I FREAKING LOVE SETH!!!
Now that has been said, every time Jen makes me think I can love a story more she goes and steps up the game and just leaves me even more addicted. After the shitshow at the end of The Return, Josie has her power unlock, but she needs to learn to control them, also she is having nightmares, understandably, buuuut Seth is there to catch her and isn’t that just the most adorable thing?? Honest I always knew he had a sweet soft side, but also knew that only someone really special could unlock that in him and that person is Josie. Not that Alex wasn’t all special, but their relationship wasn’t the same they didn’t care about each other the same way but with Josie Seth is just himself. Of course, giving the fact that they are already together it reason to be suspicious something is going to happen, and of course it does, Seth and his messed up head, and this thing inside him, that you start to suspect has more power that it should…. But not once but twice Seth tried to do the right thing by Josie, but the man needs to understand the only right thing he can do by her is standing by her side and he gets that…eventually.
This book is more calm, we see Josie training and going by her life, the things with the Pures and the Halfs get even more serious and some really bad shit happens. In the middle of that we get a new character a Half named Colin. Now I don’t know why and I don’t remember much about him from my first read but I’m suspicious of him… Josie also learns some pretty cool stuff after a library visit and absent dad of the year Apollo starts to piss me off with the whole being vague and not really talking to his daughter about what matters! The bad timing its still funny but seriously Apollo is not getting best dad awards in this book. Of course, I know why he does this, not being my first read. but at this point in the series we have no clue and its just so annoying!
One really cool thing does happen like middle book, and we know this is going to eventually happen, but nothing gets you ready to the happiness punch there is seeing some faces again!
So I said this book was calmer that changes when we meet this new extra annoying character, like serious he must be the most annoying character ever written by Jen, in a awesome kind of way, of course because its just hilarious seeing the gang pissed of at him and wanting to duct tape his mouth to shut him up! All except Deacon because of course Deacon is a fanboy much to Luke’s desperation, which is also hilarious. One of the things I love in Titan series is that we get to see more of Deacon and Luke together and like I have said before I love those two!
But really the calm goes up the ceiling once they start their search for the other demigods, and the term shit hitting the fan gets a whole new meaning. We meet a new Titan…Atlas…Yes that Atlas, maniac, lunatic Atlas and we suffer a big loss that rocks the structure of the group and of one particular character that goes nuclear and things don’t end up great….
The end leaves you in a pool of nervous energy not knowing how to deal with what just happened and then of course some major throw downs happen, and the book leaves you wanting more.
Gotta say I wasn’t happy with the magnificent duo in the last chapter….really wasn’t, but one the other hand all that chapter just leaves me loving Josie and (if possible) Deacon and Luke even more!
We get to see Josie growing in this book, learning some hard truths and she deals with everything like a champ! Seth just makes me swoon at every scene and he is a jerk but he so adorable and sweet to and we see his feelings for Josie growing and how it affects him to have someone that really cares about him 100% for who he is and not what he is. Of course he is far from perfect but he learns with his mistakes and yeah….I will take it back he is perfect I don’t care about everything else!
I love this series and I remember having a feeling things were about to change after finishing this book, well I wasn’t wrong this series definitely promises ….and keeps on delivering. Greek Mythology fans (and sexy, hot, kind of jerk face bad boys fans) have fun!

Please note: This review may contain spoilers for the Covenant series, please don’t read any further if you don’t want to be spoiled! The Titan Series is an adult spin off from the Covenant series (young adult). So, I finally let go of comparing and I am giving Seth & Josie a chance. And I am so glad I did because I am starting to connect with both of them a lot better. I do have to say I feel that the pace is (still) a bit slow at times and I love a fast paced book. That being said, there was so much to LOVE about this book. I laughed, I cried, I had all the feels. I do also feel that there is more romance in this book and I loved the growth Josie goes through in this book. I was of course super excited that we finally read more about Aiden and Alex, I just love them and let’s not forget Luke and Deacon. Deacon remains such a ray of sunshine and I hope he continues to be so for the rest of the series. I think my favorite thing about this book are (not quite surprising) the interactions between all the characters.

Jennifer Armentrout has done it again in the second book of the Titan series. Watching the story of Seth and Josie unfold is like speeding down a bumpy road full of potholes. I laughed out loud, I cried, and I held on for dear life as I went on that ride with them. Jen brings all of her characters to life with a finesse that makes me love them more and more as the pages turn. And the sexy times are oh, so sexy. Start this series today, and you won’t be disappointed!!!

Buddy read with my friend Mandy.
I really wanted to throat punch Seth in this one (in the most loving way possible of course) for treating Josie the way he did. My heart broke for Josie because she really didn’t deserve that kind of treatment from Seth.
Alex and Aiden’s arrival really didn’t help either, because it made Josie feel really out of place. Don’t get me wrong, I was really happy for Alex and Aiden to make an appearance (even though Alex was a bit annoying with her know-it-all attitude), but Josie was already a bit of a mess and having Alex there made her feel really insecure.
But it was when Seth was not acting like his douche self that the emotional trauma this book left you with made it all worth it.
And while there were a lot of moments that wanted me to rip my hair out, there was also moments when I laughed so hard my belly hurt.
The Power is an emotional ride full of up and downs. I loved the surprise birthday party that Josie has organised for Seth. I loved how Apollo (aka God of C*ck Blocking) keeps on popping up at the most inconvenient moments. I loved the Harry Potter and the Avatar references. And of course I loved Deacon.
I hated going to work because all I wanted to do is devour this amazing book. I even skipped out on gym and lied down at the back seat of my car while waiting for my husband to finish work because I wanted to sneak in couple of chapters. Jennifer really knows how to write a book that will take over your life.
P.S. I am so glad that I decided to read this series when all the books were already published, because I couldn’t imagine waiting for the next book to come out especially after Jennifer left The Power on a cliffhanger.
I’m in love with Seth and feel his struggles. He thinks he is an addict, but he doesn’t understand what he really needs. This book shows so much of seth’s growth as a character and how Josie helps make him a better person. I’m loving this series!
Love Seth
Josie is really coming into her own in this one and I freaking love it. Seth is all angsty boy, which is pretty awesome too, even if he still rocks the arrogant jerk act we all love. Fabulous installment to this series. Seriously.
The entire Titan series is AMAZING! I love Seth! He’s so funny! I totally adored his and Josie’s relationship from beginning to end, and Seth’s accent in the audio version made everything so much better!

Review:
This book begins right where the first one ended. Seth and Josie decided to give their relationship a try. Josie is awakened as a demigod and she is training to become stronger and control her powers.
What is this book all about:
In this book we continue Seth and Josies story. Josie is training to become stronger and to control her powers. She and Seth are growing closer together but there is still something that is holding Seth back.
Things are getting more and more tense at the covenant as the pures and the halfs are fighting amongst themselves. Not only that, the Titans are still lurking around waiting to attack.
Seth and Josie are trying to find the other demi-gods so that they can fight the Titans for once and for all. The thing is, they can’t do it alone. They need the help of other demi-gods to track and protect the other born demigods. Will Seth be able to deal when he has to look the consequence of his action in the eye? Or will his resentment though wards himself keep him and Josie from being together, from being happy?
The war between the greeks and the titans are far from over. Their will be a price to pay, the question is what is the price and are Seth and Josie willing to pay or will it destroy them forever.
What did I love about this book
I felt so bad for Seth. The way he feels about himself is heart breaking. He acts all confident and cocky but deep down he is a broken man. He deserves to be happy and so does Josie. They are so good together.
I loved seeing Alex and Aiden again. It’s great to see them so happy.
The one thing I loved, maybe the most, is when Josie stood up for Seth. It really showed how much she loves him. I can’t wait to read the third book! March can’t come soon enough.
