A series of events set Willow and her friends on a journey like no other, leading them to a new understanding of themselves, their feelings and their abilities. As they begin to unravel the past, they find themselves the sole opposition to a plot that could destroy all existence. Their only clue to survival comes in the form of a book filled with hundreds of predictions. Deciphering them, … them, however, will not be an easy task. Written by someone long ago, the pages are lined with riddle like poems. Even worse they appear to be in no particular order.
Each book in the series is based on a different prophecy leading our heroes and heroines to new places and new friends, experiencing growing pains along the way. The entire series, delves deep into the understanding of magic and self-discovery, all the while, questioning the right versus wrong equation on personal levels.
As the books progress, readers will find some new explanations for old tales, myths, legends, folk lore and unusual phenomena that could just make them question the validity of stories we all have grown up with.
Vampires, Witches, Ghosts, Monsters, Santa Claus, Atlantis, Elves, Dragons, Faeries… find out the alternate truth to them all.
Volume I contains books 1-3 in the series.

The Portal Prophecies Volume I
By: C.A. King
5 out of 5 stars
The Portal Prophecies Volume I include the first three books in the Portal Prophecies series. It is a fantasy series that quickly grabbed my attention and I grew to love with each book I read. It has a unique storyline and wonderful characters. The one I loved the most is Willow. She is a very caring person and is always looking out for others. She has many friends and they discover that they have special talents. These stories take you to different worlds and have you meeting ancient races. These are books that will have you believing in magic. There are prophecies that Willow and her friends are trying to decipher. There are times of danger and strange occurrences. Will the prophecies by solved? The author gives a lot of attention to detail and when reading I felt that I was right there with the characters facing what they do. These are well-written books that will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. This is a set of stories I would highly recommend reading.
The Portal prophecies volume 1 written. By C.A. King. The Portal prophecies was a good mix of ideas with great storyline. Willow is the main character and as she and her friends grow and experience many different scenarios throughout the story. Right from the beginning the story grabs your attention and keeps you wanting more until the end. The characters are all well written and I enjoyed them. Getting to know Willow and the other characters is entertaining and you never know where the story is heading. The transition from scene to scene is smooth.
This is a series that will take you on an adventure with a group of characters that leads them to finding themselves and who they really are. I enjoyed them all but Willow is my favorite of all of them. Their journey leads to twists and turns and is centered around a book that has predictions in it. Each book in this series takes you on a journey of a prediction from the book. I enjoyed watching the characters grow with each book and I think you will too. I highly recommend this book.

The Portal Prophecies Series by C.A King is a Y.A fantasy/paranormal adventure that is full of action, magic, self-discovery and drama. The author tells tales full of mystical wonder; the book incorporates her re-imagining of many of our myths, legends, tall-tales and unexplained phenomena- which is incredibly original and clever.
This volume contains the first three books in the series:
*A Keeper’s Destiny Book #1
*A Halloween’s Curse Book #2
*Frost Bitten Book #3
Willow is an orphan who has grown up in a magical place, not knowing what really happened to her parents, and doesn’t really understand the world she lives in. Everyone in her world has ‘abilities’, powers that they gained as they matured. Most people gain their powers/magical ability by the time they reach their sixteenth cycle. No one ever really knew what their ability would be, some abilities were incredibly useful or entertaining; while others were pretty much useless. Willow hasn’t got hers yet, she really hopes when she does, that they would make her special or would help better her position within the society.
When her world comes under threat, Willow and a group of her friends set out on a quest to save all of existence. She discovers more than she could ever have imagined; not just about herself, but about her world and that of all existence. We learn along with her of the ancients, the guardians, the portals, the different realms, an evil king, a whole lot of different races and beings- and all the predictions contained in a book called The Portal Prophecies that can help them in their quest. The prophecies are the key to their success and survival; which they will need to decipher before it’s too late. Each book has its own prophecy to figure out, which results in a new and exciting adventure.
This story is quite fast paced, very detailed and descriptive- with a very complex and multi-layered plot. A lot was going on, especially in book one, where to begin with I had a little trouble ‘getting into the story’ because there was so much to keep track of while the foundations to the book and series were laid out. But after a while, I settled into the story more and began to really enjoy it.
I liked the characters and enjoyed watching them develop and grow in confidence as the story progressed. I did like seeing that Willow grew a lot throughout the series. She really was on a journey of discovery- not just about the quest and prophecies, but about herself and her own strengths and limitations. She also has an increase in her confidence, as her powers and abilities manifest and increase- she also discovers that she is capable of so much more than she ever imagined. All the characters were really well thought out, beautifully crafted, and are unique and memorable.
If you enjoy young adult fantasy, action and adventure- with quirky characters that you can’t help but root for, love real value for money (3 books in one purchase price), and a captivating storyline….. then you really should grab this book and dive in, you’ll be entertained for hours!
Thank you, Ms. King!
The Portal Prophecies Volume 1 includes the first three books in the series by C.A. King.
The Portal Prophecies: A Keeper’s Destiny by C.A. King is the first in the Portal Prophecies series.
Book one of the series A Keepers Destiny is a coming of age story with some loops thrown in there. I often enjoy young adult fantasy novels and this is added to the list. The story is about a young woman named Willow who is going through tough, growing pains. Luckily she has the help of her friends in their adventure. They are joined by some ancient figures that are working together to figure out predictions in a book from long ago. Can they figure out the clues that they are given and in time?
This is a story that has different worlds, relics, and myths. I always enjoy learning and investigating a new world with new characters. The story follows these unlikely teen heroes in a fast paced story. I could not put the book down.
This story is well thought out and different from a lot of young adult stories. The writing is good and there is a lot of description. Also, the characters are well described and developed. I enjoyed the story and am anxious to read more of the books in the series. It did take me a little bit to get involved in the story, but once I was drawn in I could not put the book down. I recommend this to someone looking for a book that is new and different to read. Also, the fact that if you like series this has six books.
The Portal Prophecies: A Halloween Curse by C.A. King is the second in the Portal Prophecies series. This book continues the journey and adventures of Willow and her friends. There is much to be said in the form of riddles and what might not make sense. King Cornelius is still on his mission to dominate every part of every realm. Can Willow and friends find Mike and follow all the clues to complete their mission. I have always loved the spookiness of Halloween and this book brings some of the spookiness to life.
Willow and friends are on a mission and do not even know how much strength and talent they possess among themselves. The book picks up where the first book left off. I enjoyed the further development of the characters. The characters are teens thrust into a world they do not understand fully. They are working off clues that are left in the book the Portal Prophecies. Their friend has turned up missing and King Cornelius wants to control everything and everyone. The teens are normal and going through their lives when they are brought into these adventures. They are learning what each of their strengths and weaknesses are as well as how to trust one another in some crazy situations.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more in this series. These are fun and thought provoking. I think for most they will find something to enjoy be it a great story, fun riddles, and well thought out characters.
The Portal Prophecies: Frost Bitten is written by C.A. King. This is the third book in the series. These books are best read in order because I do not see them as standalone or out of order type of books. The story picks up where book two left off in the adventures of Willow and her friends. This time Willow and gang are up for a new challenge and learning more about themselves. The call has come and they are needing to help. This story is a Christmas/Winter theme. I enjoy how each new story is a new challenge and process for Willow and her gang. Also, that each story has a different season or theme involved.
Everyone is turning against Willow and her friends. Can they help Lance and survive King Cornelius’ wrath all at once? As their world and experiences are expanding so are their obligations and chances for conflict. I enjoyed this story and am getting pulled in deeper to the world that C.A. King has created for Willow and all the different characters. Willow is fun, strong, and adventurous. She has grown since the first book and so have her friends. They are learning quickly but are also challenged at every turn. I enjoy that they have some tough decisions and must weigh the consequences of their actions.
This is not a series for people who want a simple, boring story. Each book takes the reader on a different adventure. I am glad that there are more books in this series and look forward to reading them.
The Portal Prophecies Volume I by C.A King is action packed, emotional, intense and the stakes are high. C.A. has written a unique story that is full of magic and friends but there is also danger lurking in the shadows. Just who can trust who? I enjoyed the different characters and watched them grow as they trek through each adventure. The books in this series should be read in order to put the whole story in perspective.
I recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading anything paranormal, supernatural and fantasy
The Portal Prophecies series by C.A. King is a gripping series that will keep you captivated all the way through.
The series follows Willow and her misfit group of friends as they try and navigate a world of decades old prophecies and help to save the world they have come to call their own.
Each book sees a new threat that they must overcome while they decipher the prophecy they think is in play. Everything rests on them getting it right or their fate could take a turn of the worst.
Each book is extremely well written, the stories are well developed and thought through, the continuity of the story is consistent and the pace is good throughout. I absolutely love not only Willow but loads of the supporting characters. Each have been so well crafted and they compliment the stories in more ways than one. I promise you this is a series you have to read – you will not be disappointed if you do.
