Nothing says happy birthday like catching your husband in a compromising position with his boss. His male boss. Why, hello, midlife crisis. I’m starting over, but this time I’m doing it right. Or at least I’m doing what I want.Taking the day off from work to hang out poolside? Yup. Do I leave the swimsuit in my house? Sure.Does my very hot, twenty-something pool boy happen to catch me naked? Oh, … happen to catch me naked? Oh, yeah, he does. And he likes what he sees… a lot.
My best friend keeps telling me to have a fling and get back out there. But I’m not so sure she meant for me to do it with her son.

This was the final book I read in 2020, and the perfect happy/dirty note to end the year on. I went in thinking this would be a fun, sexy read, but when I finished, my first reaction was, “wow, wasn’t that ever so lovely and sweet!!!” And hot, of course, but what I loved most about this was how real it felt about getting out of our own way and going for our dreams. I haven’t read book 1 in the series, but it’s on my TBR list, and I’m really looking forward to book 3, which sounds like a triad romance and I love those so much!
OMG!!! what a fun and fantastic read!!
WOW!!! This book yall…holy smokes it was HOT HOT HOT! Nikki is the master at some hot reads and addicting storylines. I devoured this book. The characters were over the top in the chemistry department. I loved them both! The sassy heroine and the cocky pool boy were amazing together. So fun to read. This one was definitely a page turner! DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
Whew boy. Nikki Sloane first drew me in with this cover. And then the blurb. I’m a total sucker for a May/December romance, and with this being an older woman/younger man? AND by Nikki Sloane? Oh just gimme! HOT!! I wish I could’ve tapped the “Steamy” button about five times…
Fun and sexy! The perfect steamy poolside read!
Nikki Sloane always hits the spot with the perfect combo of steam & sass. Check it out!
Incredibly hot. One of my new younger man-older woman faves. And I loved the musical rise to fame storyline too.
Seriously good.
I love Age Gap romances, and I especially love when it is the woman who is older. It is so infrequent to see an Older Woman Younger Man romance but they are just as good. Erika and Troy are forbidden not just because of their age gap but because Troy is Erika’s best friend’s son.
Troy came into Erika’s life when she needed him most. After finding her husband and his male boss with their pants down Erika explores her sexuality with Troy. For the first time in years, Erika feels wanted and boy does she want Troy. What is hotter than scorching? That is the word I would use to describe Erika and Troy’s sexual chemistry. Their sex scenes were on fire. They connect on more than just a sexual level, they connect emotionally, they have mutual interests.
I’ve heard so much hype around this entire series but especially The Pool Boy, so I was so excited going into this one. I picked it up for free with some leftover kindle credits from an Amazon order, so I had nothing to lose. I was surprised with how quickly I flew through it!
The older woman/younger male trope has QUICKLY become one of my favorites in romance. The Pool Boy follows Erika (42), who is recently divorced and Troy (24) who is Erika’s best friend’s son and her POOL BOY. Going into this book, I genuinely expected it to be pure smut with little to no storyline. What I didn’t expect was to find a beautiful story filled with raw passion and the desire to see each other be their best selves.
Troy was wise beyond his years. I loved that there was no fuckboy shit going on and he knew what he wanted. He didn’t play any games and the way he loved Erika… lord have mercy. I loved the way Erika pushed Troy to chase his dreams and was constantly encouraging him. I also loved Erika’s confidence and that she knew her worth. These characters and I really vibed with each other.
Don’t even get me started on the steam. Troy knew what the fuck he was doing, babyyyy.
The only reason why this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because I felt bored at a few parts in the middle of the book, and I wasn’t super interested in the musician storyline. The story really redeemed itself at the end though, and even made me tear up. It was the perfect way to wrap this book up, and made me excited to continue with the series.
Nikki wrote a great story, it was crazy hot and the characters were enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.
Yes, I purchased this book for the hot scenes, and yes there were plenty of them. But this story was so much more! I loved it, and it’s characters. It’s how life happens sometimes. At certain occasions I thought that Troy spoke and behaved more mature than Erika. It has a heartwarming ending.
The perfect summer read. Hot!
I was feeling a taboo romance and this book was recommended to me on bookstagram – and I’m glad it was!
It was exactly the sort of cheeky read I needed.
This story follows 24 year old Troy and 42 year old Erika.
As from the title, yes Troy is Erikas pool boy. But it ends up being a lot more than that. Erika is a talent agent and after hearing Troy sing in a random club, she wants him. The only issue is, he wants her more – and not in the professional way.
Erika and Troy then start a scandalous affair that I could not put down! I learnt halfway that this is the sequel standalone in the Nashville neighbourhood series so shall read the doctor (the first book) next – ready for the third book due to be released next month.
This was my first from Nikki and I am now officially a Nikki fan! Her writing is so easy and addictive to read. I am now going through all her books and having a naughty Christmas read week!
This book made me very uncomfortable, though I think that says more about me than the plot! Hot
A great read!
I love this neighborhood!
From the minute you meet Troy, you are instantly enamored. He’s a good man, trying to do right by his family while sacrificing his own desires. He’s smart, charismatic, sexy, and a little bit mischievous. And when he decides to get off the sidelines and start going for what he wants, watch out. Especially when what he wants is the newly divorced older woman whose pool he cleans. It’s a little more complicated than that, but I don’t want to spoil all the fun.
Erika is my new girl crush. Starting her life over can’t be easy, But like Troy, she too has suppressed her desires and is finally ready to get off the sidelines. This woman is smart, successful, and sexy, but she’s inexperienced for the first time in her life. What better way to practice than a tryst with the pool boy?
When I pick up a Nikki Sloane book, I know EXACTLY what to expect, and boy did she deliver! Troy and Erika are steamy, hot perfection mixed with a little bit of sweetness and a whole lot of naughty. You’re going to fall in love with this couple.
I can’t wait for more from this Nashville Neighborhood.
Older woman and younger man! One of my favorite tropes and it did not disappoint!
This book is just crazy hot and then…..
It is different..usually the man has the younger woman, nice to see women with a younger man… I enjoyed the characters. The author kept my attention…
Loved this book from the very beginning
