Love changes people.I’m the first to admit that I, Keaton Bridges, used to be an immature, entitled ass.Okay, maybe I’m the second to admit it—after Roxy Carter. That loudmouth. But I’ve seen what true love has done for my friends, and I want it for myself.Somehow, I’m the only single guy left.Somehow, she’s the only single girl. The only time Foxy Roxy hasn’t been a loudmouth? That time we were … been a loudmouth?
That time we were making out at our best friends’ wedding.
And every time we’ve seen each other in the five years since then,
because she refuses to talk about it.
Well, she’s going to have to talk to me now.
It’s the dead of winter, and our six best friends were planning a getaway
at a Caribbean couples-only resort.
One of the couples had to drop out, and I refuse to be left out in the cold.
All Roxy and I have to do is pretend to be in love for one week so we can
spend some much-needed time with our favorite people.
And all I have to do is pretend I’m not dying to kiss her again.

This book. Wow.
I immediately started a re-read and it’s on my favorites shelf. What did I like?
The writing was terrific. Ms. Loring has written a well thought out story featuring our favorite almost jerk from her previous stories. Both Keaton and Roxy are Plus Ones … the unattached singles that make up the pack of married couples. Everyone loves them … except each other … well maybe not. Keaton has been a Roxy fan for a while, pulled in by the continual sparing between the two.
The storyline pairs the two of them as fake boyfriend and girlfriend. Woven through the story are resort games, hashtags, texts, sizzling romance, laugh out loud scenes and dialogue that is smart, sassy, and downright fun. Yet, there is Keaton falling for Roxy and …. wait for it … Roxy falling for Keaton.
Oh! … and with this book (as with all of Ms. Loring’s books), you get an extra (we’ll call it a “Plus!”). with The Plus Ones, Keaton’s degree (minor) in linguistics comes through and the reader gets an education that will make her/him just sigh. While giving Roxy the nickname “Ute” may not seem like a compliment, it’s actually the most wonderful nickname he could give her …. and how he “gives” her that name is swoon-worthy (look up Utepils). …So cheers to Ms. Loring for this wonderful angle of the book.
This book had me cheering on Keaton and rooting for #ROXTON.
If you are looking for your next read that will pull you in and wish you were a part of a friend group that will make you smile, this book is for you. It’s yet another fab book by a fab author … one of my favorites!

I love Kayley Loring books, and this was another amazing one from her! I loved watching Roxy & Keaton FINALLY get their acts together! The chemistry was insanely hot. Add in some humor and you’ve got a book that is impossible to put down!
Keaton and Roxy are friends of the couple in the previous book. They end up making out at a wedding, then agree to never talk about it again. Later their friends are all part of a couple and are taking a couples trip. Keaton doesn’t want to be the only single guy. He comes up with the idea that he and Roxy should be a pretend couple for the trip. Problem is they can’t stop making out or keep their hands off each other. Love may really be in the cards for this couple. The banter between them was funny. Roxy got on my nerves sometimes but she was a good match for Keaton. A sweet, sexy romantic read.
Two words. KEATON BRIDGES. I have secretly been crushing on Keaton since the character was first introduced in Tonight You’re Mine. Needless to say I was super excited when I heard that his was getting his own book and Roxy! Plus, more of Chase, Aimee, Matt, Bernie and new to me characters, Vince and Nina.
I found myself laughing out loud while reading a majority of this book. I LOVED the banter between Roxy and Keaton and really the interactions between the group as a whole. This is one group of friends I would love to go on vacation with to the Caribbean. No matter what is going on it would be a blast.
Not only do Keaton and Roxy KILL it with the banter but their chemistry is fantastic from the very beginning, even though they “hate” each other and really try to spend time avoiding each other at events. I probably could talk my love for Keaton and Roxy and their relationship forever.
This book is steamy, it is funny, it makes you want to hop on a plane and start a Caribbean vacation. Whether you’re new to Kayley’s books or you’ve read all of them The Plus Ones is a MUST READ and PURE GOLD. #ROXTON4EVA
The Plus Ones by Kayley Loring is a stand alone book but is also part of a series. (One which I have yet to read, but I will most certainly be rectifying that fact shortly.
This is an enemies to lovers rom/com and it was really too funny. I haven’t laughed so much in ages. Roxy’s inner dialogue was hilarious, and Keaton wasn’t any less so. These two DO NOT get along, so when they end up at a couples resort by faking a relationship it leads to all sorts of shenanigans. Their sassy, snarky and flirtatious banter was beyond good. I loved how easily they got a rise out of each other.
Meeting the previous characters made me want to know more, so it’s off to meet Matt and Bernie, Vince and Nina, and Aimee and Chase in their books. Boy, I just love binge reading. 🙂
*4.5 stars*
The Plus Ones is a standalone. However, it is based in the Brooklyn world where three of Loring’s other books Come Back to Bed, Rebound with Me and Tonight You’re Mine are based, and those characters are also in this one. Those three couples: Matt and Bernie, Vince and Nina, and Aimee and Chase all plan a couple’s trip to a couple’s resort in Antigua. But, when Nina and Vince have to drop out, Roxy and Keaton take their places. They are not a couple, so it’s a fake relationship trope, but also enemies to lovers because they don’t like each other very much and these two do share some brief history as well. Their banter was so deliciously good! The one liners were hilarious! They were great characters, someone you want to be friends with; and them together was even better! This is a very quick read, with things moving maybe a little too fast for me. But, the epilogue was so satisfying and perfect finale to all of these books. This is another solid read from an always consistent author.
* I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
So many stars. I honestly could not get enough of this book, everything about it I loved. And it was so funny, like laugh out loud hilarious. Basically the entire book is highlighted with notes like snorts, lmao, lmfao, hilarious, so damn funny. From the way they interact with each other, to Keaton’s dog, to their group of friends, to the couples trip, to the couples games on the trip, to the text in the group chat….everything seriously was so funny. Laughed so hard….and loudly. This is my new favorite Kayley Loring book, she killed it with this one for sure. I should send her a virtual fruit basket for letting me read it. It was that amazing for me. So, so good.
This is Keaton and Roxy aka Foxy Roxy’s book, they have a brief and sweet kiss together five years previous. Roxy is a bit of a runner, but eventually she gets caught. Fast forward and they are pretending to be a couple at a couples resort so they can hang out with their married best friends.
This was a safe for me read, neither were with others after they start dating. I loved, loved Keaton f*cking Bridges, her name for him , absolutely adore that guy. Everything about him I loved, he’s gonna be topping a lot of fans Book Boyfriend list, just remember that I called dibs first…#ProudToBeAHeroHoarder. She does some evading for years, but he finally catches her. And he ends up being a pro at handling Roxy, and trust me she is a handful. Their chemistry was scorching, add their humorous interactions with each other, and it made for an addicting book. Once these two get together, it is swoon worthy for sure, they don’t waste time, and I loved it. Baby batter, a great epilogue and hea.

“One plus one equals infinity.”
I take back everything I said about Keaton after I finished Tonight You’re Mine, the previous book in this series. He proved me wrong, and I think I like him even more because of it.
“Not kissing this man is no longer an option. I kiss him until I’ve taken his breath away and then given it back to him.”
Keaton… Look, the first thing I can say about him is that he genuinely cares about everyone and everything. About his friends, his godson, his dog (even though it’s not reciprocated), and about Roxy. I wasn’t even surprised to see how much he picked up on about her, because he watches and he pays attention. And he goes after what he wants, without being pushy and by just being kind and present. And, OK, hot. Even without wearing socks.
“‘That thing for me now is Roxy. It’s her body and everything I saw and felt and heard last night and what I didn’t get to see and do or say. It’s who she is deep down when she isn’t being the Roxy Carter she presents to the world.'”
I feel like I’m part Roxy Carter. It’s not only about her being a Bruce Springsteen fan, either. She’s just so much more than what she shows everyone. Of course she’s feisty and a badass. Of course she knows what she wants, and how she wants it, and she’s not taking shit from anyone. But there’s a side of her that needs to be brought out, and a couple of walls that need knocking down. And she has definitely found her match.
“‘What we have is friction. Oil and water just glide right past each other.”
He clenches his jaw for a second before continuing. “I’m more like a match that’s striking against your rough surface. Creating sparks. Producing a flame. Lighting you up.'”
Keaton and Roxy feel left out because all their friends are getting married and having babies. And at one of those weddings, when they’re feeling especially vulnerable, they kiss. It’s not the peck on the lips variety, it’s a full-on-steamy kiss that leaves them both wanting more. And wondering, whether they admit to it or not.
But instead of exploring what might have been, they avoid each other. It’s the sensible thing to do, right? Five years go by and life goes on. The chemistry never goes away, though, and when they go on holidays together with their friends, and need to pretend to be a couple, suddenly pretending is the furthest thing from their minds.
“His hands find mine and he laces our fingers together, and it’s beautiful. So much for quick and dirty.”
The chemistry between these two is sizzling hot, and everyone can feel it. It’s a sexual thing, of course, but it’s more than that. It’s there in the way they interact with each other, and how they get to know one another. The discovery of who they are together.
“I’m your plus one, Roxy Carter. I’m your emergency contact. I’m your everything. And one of these days, I’m going to be your husband and the father of your child or children. So get used to it.”
There’s no angst in this book. It’s a sweet, steamy read that, even if you’re having a bad day, will leave you feeling like life maybe isn’t that bad, you know? Maybe there’s a Keaton (or a Roxy) out there, someone you can connect to on every level, someone who just fits your life in every way, someone who’s destined to be your plus one, even if you try to push them away.
I think the word saudade kind of covers how I feel about this book and this series. I will miss all of them, but I’m also happy I got to experience their stories, and that they’ll forever be a part of me.
Yep, feeling sappy here. And a tiny bit emotional too.
I totally blame the epilogues for this! And Kayley Loring.
This book was pretty good. Steamy, enjoyable sex scenes. Not much angst or conflict once Keaton and Roxy get together though. I was expecting something to go wrong, but it never really did.
What a funny yet romantic story about frienemies to lovers! I always love a good rom-com when there’s two singles in a group of married couples and them being shipped is inevitable!
I really liked both Roxy the heroine and Keaton the hero. Both had unique qualities and bold personalities that made the story strong and convincing. Their chemistry was off the charts!!!! So hot and buzzing!
I really liked the writing style by this author who was new to me. The dialogue was realistic and flowed well. All of the side characters were likable and supportive. The intimate scenes were hot with just enough detail.
The ending was sweet and really pulled the entire story together.
I really enjoyed listening to The Plus Ones. This was such a fun story of two kind of enemies-kind of friends- that try hard to hate each other, but clearly their attraction finally takes over.
Both Keaton and Roxy are apart of the same tight group of friends. Unfortunately for them, all of their friends are married except for them. They had a past hookup that lead to nothing, which started the resentment that Roxy had for Keaton.
Though there is obvious attraction, no-one wanted to act on it… until one day they’re able to go on a couples retreat with their friends, only.. they both have to pretend to be a couple. The Plus Ones was a perfect story of what happens when pretending becomes the real thing!
I thought Mackenzie and Teddy did an awesome job at portraying both Keaton and Roxy. I found myself immersed in this story that was filled with laughs, tears, and dash of hotness. This was my first book of Kayley’s, but it sure wont be my last!
* AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *
I love this story about mouthy Roxy and sweet Keaton, they are so different but matches perfectly.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good and so fun dialogues, Wetpantiesface
Some secondary characters I’ve already read but the others I would love to read about too.
Talk about slow burning love story……….that finally ends in all the happiness we all want to have.
This is a standalone but part of a series.
Narrators:
Clear pronunciation and read with feelings and passionate without going to fare. A really good listen that made me forget about everything.
I recommend it very much.
