I thought that this was a very enjoyable read. Keane & Libby’s story is jam-packed with plenty of heat, intensity, thrills, drama, action, danger, excitement and emotion. This book captures your attention and really holds on and just won’t let go. I felt that the characters were easy to root for, were likable and had amazing chemistry.
This book starts with a huge amount of action and it doesn’t stop. Keane is a hired hand for Covey, and when things go wrong on his last job, he tries to make them right. We don’t learn too much about Keane and his history, just that this has been his whole adult life. Libby is caught in the crossfire. An innocent who has been cast out by her family, her name alone puts her at risk. This is a fast-paced action story about love and redemption that I read in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. I’d love to hear Tom’s story, and more about Big George and the Covey group.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
This is a good read.
This is the story of Keane & Libby. This is a story of the Covey and the Syndicate. Keane being a part of the Covey who wants to get out. This will be his last job, taking out the last of the Abbott family. Libby is one of the last of the Abbott family, which the Covey knows nothing about because she’s been away for seven years. Their targets are her aunt and uncle and a few associates. They are both at the grand opening of the Abbott Tower, a new building; him posing at a waiter, and she’s there as a guest. They are really attracted to one another, even under the circumstances. Things get more difficult from there. This is a novel that will hold your attention. It’s very intense because of the subject matter. There is a happy ending, but a lot happens in between them meeting and the happy ending.
What an action packed, suspenseful, compelling read start to finish. I was drawn into the storyline and invested in the main character’s outcomes. I loved watching the chemistry and interactions between these two- captivating! This is an edge of your seat story all the way through! So hold on tight, because you’re in for a bumpy exhilarating ride that will have your adrenaline pumping until the very last word. I loved it and hated to see it end!
This was my first ever read from Linnea (back when it was released as the Tower) and I was once again hooked from the first page!
Keane came across as dangerous, daring, mysterious and hot as hell.
Libby was portrayed as wounded (literally), trusting, scared and stolen. Put them together and you have a fast paced, sweet, sexy, unpredictable and dramatic story.
I enjoyed it just as much this time around. Libby and Keane are fantastic
Plunge by Linnea May is a PHENOMENAL READ which is a rollercoaster ride that doesn’t stop until the last page of the book! I love Linnea’s writing style and have read all of her books but I believe this has got to be one of the best she has written. The book features Keane, a Covey assassin who is assigned to kill the remaining family members of the Abbott criminal organization, and Libby Abbott, the orphaned niece of Clyde Abbott who is the head of the family’s criminal underworld. Libby is not aware of her family’ involvement in crime. The book starts with Libby attending the opening of her uncle’s new building’s gala which ends in bloodshed, the death of her aunt, and the attempted assassination of her uncle who uses her as a shield to protect himself. Keane kidnaps the injured Libby, (whose existence as an Abbott family member was unknown) who should have been killed by him since the Covey wants all Abbotts wiped out. This starts Keane’s dilemma as he is strongly attracted to her but knows she should die if he wants to live. I highly recommend this excellent novella with its complex characters and an edge of your seat plot with violence, suspense, action, adventure, passion and sizzling romance. It is truly a phenomenal book and deserves ten stars!
I received an arc in return for an honest and voluntary review.
The Plunge was a well written, great read that engaged me from the beginning. I loved Keane and Libby’s story. With one last job for The Covey, Keane is ready until the beautiful Libby distracts him. When things go wrong and he takes her. Its action packed with danger, suspense, sizzling chemistry, twists and turns and plenty of steam.
Linnea May never disappoints. In The Plunge, she weaves a story of romantic suspense that speaks to your senses. The words are felt as you read them and heard as each character speaks. Intrigue, passion, dread and beauty combine to create one of her best works with an intricate storyline and complex, believable characters.
Fasten your seat belts because this book will take you on quite the ride. Libby is the black sheep of the Abbott family and has been summoned by her last remaining family to attend their latest bragging event. She notices and gets noticed by one of the waitstaff, but all is not as it appears. Soon shots ring out and Libby is struck, then she is dragged by her uncle to an escape route only to be in the way of the next shot and left to be taken hostage/rescued by said waiter.
Keane just wanted to finish this last job and then “retire” from being a hitman, only all did not go according to plan. Enter, Libby an unknown and soon to be Keane’s responsibility. Read to see if these two can survive each other, escaping the Covey and find an HEA for themselves. This book was a definite page-turner and I enjoyed reading it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
