A standalone book in the Jordan’s Game series by NYT Bestselling author, JA Huss.A new day. A new game. A new girl to (try and) please. Issy Grey is a control freak. There’s no problem she can’t solve. Issy’s also a successful self-help author, presenter, and life coach. She has every answer, every time you ask for it. That is… until her BFF butts into her life and signs her up for a sexual … her up for a sexual fantasy fulfillment game she never asked to play!
Now she can’t turn it off! She can’t quit, because Jordan Wells refuses to admit she’s even a player!
Finn Murphy’s half-hearted attempt to revamp his FBI career isn’t going as planned. And being assigned to protect Issy Gray isn’t exactly a step in the right direction. The whole thing is stupid.
She thinks she’s playing some kind of game.
She thinks the interrogation down at FBI headquarters was fake.
She thinks he’s taking her to a sex club, not a safe house.
So what’s a guy to do? He might as well just play along…

This is the second book in the Jordan’s Game series by JA Huss. As always I listened to the book in audio. I really enjoyed this story but I feel like there is literally NOTHING I can say about it that won’t somehow spoil it. Pretty much all that is safe to say is in the blurb. There are a lot of secrets and twists and turns in this one and early on a lot of it is really funny but I can’t give any details without spoiling something. And I really try not to do that. The narration as always is top notch. I’m on to book 3 now: The Boyfriend Experience.
Loved it!
This series just gets better and better. This book has some crazy twists and turns that only JA can pull off. Issy & Finn are becoming my favorite couple. Once I started reading I couldn’t help not having a smile on my face or was laughing because of the banter between Issy and Finn. They both needed each other more then they both realized and reading their story was absolutely phenomenal. Once I started reading I couldn’t put my kindle down. Their chemistry was off the charts and I loved every minute of their story especially seeing Chella. I love a story that’s not predictable and I get that every time I read any JA books. Another 5 Star read that I absolutely love and everyone needs to read this book.
I loved this book!!!!! I know it’s only book two in the series but it’s my favorite of the two.
I don’t know that Huss meant for this book to be funny but she had me laughing out loud a few times. I loved the chemistry between Finn and Issy. It was so perfectly written. It’s like they were meant to be together. Maybe Jordan knows what he’s doing. LOL! Nobody leaves you second guessing your thoughts the way JA Huss does. And she is so sneaky at leaving things open for later and leaving us begging for more. This is definitely a game you don’t want to miss.
The Pleasure of Panic is the epitome of all the mind-bending, emotion-messing-with perfection we’ve come to expect and love from a J.A. Huss story.
Issy Grey and Finnegan Murphy’s game does not disappoint.
Or is it? Their game, I mean?
Both of these main characters are real, and kind of… inspirational. Way to take the crap hand life dealt you and turn it into a full house.
The last 25% of this story left me breathless and utterly satisfied. In fact, I had to read it again, just to make sure I had all the pieces of the puzzle in their proper place. Jordan is such a…yeah, I don’t know yet, the jury is still out.
I’m a little sad, closing the cover on The Pleasure of Panic… I was dying to know all the truths, but I didn’t want it to be over.
Suspense and Mystery, Pleasure and Panic!

Character development:
The heroine: Issy Grey – she owns a women’s empowerment company where she trains women to stand up for themselves. She does public speaking engagements and is a 7th degree black belt in jiu-jitsu and has a history which made her who she is today.
The Hero(es): Finn Murphy – an FBI agent who was corrupt in the past but has a second chance. He killed his father who was also a corrupt agent and feels a lot of guilt for that and the things he has done in his past.
The Story: Issy meets Jordan through her friend Chelle and is introduced to Jordan’s games. Chelle thinks Issy would like a game surrounding the pleasure of panic, but Issy’s fantasy is more about doing something like a scene in a sex club where other people are watching. When Issy’s business is called in as a tip to the FBI and a bunch of C4 is found on the premises. Issy thinks it is all part of the game.
This book was really good and you never know what it going on or whether any of it is part of a game or if it is all real. I liked how Finn was a good character who has also been bad in the past. He was dominant and sexy but also had this other side to him. And Issy was so strong, but also vulnerable and I thought it was great how she could kick butt and take names whether it be an FBI agent or a Mafia boss.
The narration was terrific! Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood were perfect for Finn and Issy. Teddy Hamilton again played the part of Jordan as he did in the first book and he has just the right amount of snark and arrogance in his tone to be perfect as Jordan, the game mastermind.
Not my favorite book, but still good. On to book three!
Dude. I have so many feels right now so this might be a little rambling and messy. Issy…what a phenomenal character. Issy has all the potential to be Tragic but is truly a warrior. I might have to emulate some of her characteristics. Yes yes I realize she’s fictional. But she’s inspiring, ok? And Finn…he also has a past that could derail him. But he’s strong enough to overcome as well. I found myself laughing at some parts of the book, but then it got real towards the end. My heart was racing and I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it. Fantastic read!!
Book 2 in Jordan’s Game series by JA Huss – I’m such a big fan of hers, you never know what you’re going to get with a Huss book, and this one was no different – utterly enthralling and captivating from the start to finish, and when you finish, its like WTF???? Seriously, what did I just read????!!!!
Who’s playing the game and who’s being played, and how many games are there – nope, I just don’t know!!! Jordan is just THE master puppeteer pulling all the string here, but I seriously don’t trust him after reading this and what he can get up to – I can’t wait to read more books to find out just what makes Jordan tick!!
In this book we have Issy with her own self help business (with some bad a** martial arts skills, you go girl!) and Finn the FBI Agent, who seems to have lost his way in life. Both have damaged and broken pasts and are thrown together in a very interesting and unexpected way. But is it a game, or is it not, and who’s playing here?
I loved Issy the spitfire and Finn who was always routing for Issy, their banter at times had me laughing out loud and the situations they found themselves in had me urging them on. The sexual tension between these two was just steaming!!!
A fantastic read, full of twists and turns that will leave you breathless and gasping, right until the final page. 5 fabulous stars.
The Pleasure of Panic was a sexy read. Two broken individuals get caught up in a game — but is it the game they think they are involved in or something much more sinister? Issy and Finn meet under less than stellar circumstances. But despite the circumstances and the misunderstandings the sparks fly between the two and they can’t keep their hands to themselves. But will their broken pasts and secrets bring them closer together or tear them apart.
I definitely enjoyed this and did not at all see certain things coming. I am eager to see where the rest of this series is going and what other games Jordan has up his sleeve!
Really good love everything she writes
I’m not sure how to review this book, except to say that I loved it! There is just so much going on in here, so many twists and turns. I love Issy, but I really, really love Finn. Both characters have been thrown into a situation of total unknown chaos, yet somehow it all comes together. Are they in the game? You’ll have to read to find out. Another great read by JA Huss.
Is this a game? That question ran through my mind throughout reading this book. But, I also got a sexy romance. Issy is so wrapped up in her self empowerment business she has let her life fall to the wayside. Finn is a total wildcard. Is he a good witch, a bad witch, is he in on the game? So many questions in this twisty fun ride of a read. I love a book that makes you exercise your brain while you read.
There are so many twists and turns in this books that it’s hard to tell the players even with a scorecard. I was, at times, amused and at other times confused. But, at no time was I not entertained. I liked that Issy brought clarity into Finn’s life maybe for the first time ever. I loved Issy’s warrior woman persona and the fact she overcame so much.
This was a GREAT read. Will look for more from this author!
Reviews from others had set me up to expect a huge twist. I didn’t think it was that crazy or unexpected. The writing wasn’t bad, I wish there was a bit more character development. All in all a decent read.
Not the usual storyline. Great read!! Couldn’t put it down. A must read.
Smile and play along. Jordan’s at it again. Or is he? Issy Grey does not want to play but Chella is persistent that she needs this game. Ok, open mind, let’s hear this out. But when she says yes, he says no. Then all hell breaks loose for Issy. Enter FBI agent Finn Murphy (good cop) and his partner Declan (bad cop). She is arrested, interrogated, then let go, sort of. She now has a bodyguard, one Finn Murphy. She is convinced that this is all a game. Jordan’s game. Get ready for fireworks, roller coaster rides, laughs, and a bit of hanging onto you seat moments. Lots of surprises, lots of sexy hot scenes, and a lot of confusing WTH moments too. But trust me, you will get satisfaction in the end. Great ride Julie!!
I liked this book. It was not one of my favorite JA Huss books but it is one I am glad that I read. It took me longer then I would have liked to finish it. It just was not a gripping book. I am more accustomed to “The Company” series which is a little more dramatic and triggering. It was good though.
The Pleasure of Panic was a wild, twisted ride in which it was close to impossible to figure out what was real and what was not! Story: At the beginning of The Pleasure of Panic, I got so incredibly angry at Jordan on Issy’s behalf! He really acted like an arse, because she didn’t really want to play the game with him. But when she finally dared to tell him what she might want – if she decided to play – he told her that wouldn’t do, and that there would be no game for her. From there on, The Pleasure of Panic was an incredibly fast-paced, action-filled adventure
