I was new to reading this author and I truly enjoyed the book the story. The leading alpha you want to hate and then love him, You will gasp and want to yell at him. And you will smile and truly love the heroine. The family values are amazing and page turner and you will feel every emotion, I recommend this book.

The Playboy fumbles and has to be humbled
I liked The Player’s Dilemma and enjoyed this fast-paced and interesting novella. The characters of Shawn and Lauren have a history that predates his inflated ego playboy lifestyle. Now he has let his mouth run away from him with the wrong woman and must learn his lesson. That involves taking sensitivity training which makes him cross paths with Lauren once again, as she is a sensitivity coach who will be teaching him his lessons.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Once I started I could not put the book down from start to finish you just could not get enough left you wanting more. Shawn had his eyes set on football in college so they went their separate ways. Then when he slipped up on TV the coach insistence he went to a training. Lauren had to train Shawn the chemistry between them was hot and steamy with emotions that makes you wanting more.

A wonderful second chance romance. This engaging storyline was an entertaining addicting journey of two people who love each other finding they way back. It flows well being a well written suplex story with sizzling hot chemistry and interesting well developed characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC.
Shawn and Lauren story is one I couldn’t put down until I was finished. Jillian Riley is one of my favorite authors. I am looking forward to more from her.
Young Love Matures
In The Player’s Dilemma, Jillian Riley once more delights her reader with a tale of friends to lovers to enemies who have a second chance at love. At their senior prom they were voted the couple Most Likely to Come Together to the 10-year high school reunion party. Shawn Ryan and Lauren Gordon were next door neighbors who became The Couple of their middle school, high school and early college days at UCLA. Shawn was Lauren’s first everything—first kiss, first boyfriend, first lover—often climbing down the tree outside his bedroom to slip next door to knock on her ground floor bedroom window for entrance. He was a gentle, sweet thoughtful boy whom she loved and trusted.
And, they remained that perfect couple who spoke at the same time, knowing the other’s thoughts until at UCLA, football quarterback Shawn got caught up in his own hype—the handsome, glamorous quarterback that no girl could resist—except Lauren, who was unwilling to overlook and ignore the changes in the boy, now man whom she loved, but could no longer like or believe. They parted ways their sophomore year, each following an already established dream—Shawn to the glory of professional football and Lauren to graduate school and advanced certifications, founding her own company—LG Training and Consulting—a highly successful and honored consulting enterprise known for helping high profile individuals and companies recognize and eliminate “isms”—sexism, racism, ageism, and more—in their lives and organizations. Her life was a success story, but she had never found anyone who could touch her heart like her first love.
Now at 28, Shawn is beginning to anticipate and plan for the end of his successful college and professional football days by exploring off-field but on-air sports opportunities. His new dream was to be the face and voice of an ESPN commentator. He wanted to translate his knowledge of sport, along with his looks, to a new career in the next phase of his life. So, when he gets a gig as a member of an ESPN roundtable discussing pay discrepancy between male and female athletes, he is excited—this is the next step into his future. But when taking call-in questions, he fields one from a female reporter that is aggressive and antagonistic. While he handles the call, in the commercial break, not knowing that his mike is still live, he insults the female questioner’s attitude and sexual needs to one of the other male participants. His words go viral and he becomes the center of a current and future career firestorm. His football team’s CEO requires that he go through a retraining/education program to address his sexism issues. And, unexpectedly after their 10 years apart, the young friends and lovers—Shawn and Lauren—are reunited as mature adults in an experience that will challenge them both to examine who they, what they believe, and what they want for their lives in the future.
What makes a Riley romance is that not only do her characters and their situations speak to the heart, she also pushes the readers to consider their own beliefs and values. Always, there is a HEA ending, but the characters and the readers have to work for it—and the end is well worth the effort!

This was a decent read. I will admit the fact that everyone overreacted was pathetic. What Shawn did wasn’t insensitive it was true. The only good thing about everything is that he was able to see his ex again. This time they are able to make it work and get their happy ending.
Shawn is a super star on the field, but his big mouth has gotten him in trouble, so when he is told to have sensitivity classes he never thought to run into his college flame Lauren. She is teaching the class and they reconnect. They are confronted with their broken past and their hopeful future. The characters are engaging and passionate.

Jillian Riley’s The Player’s Dilemma: A Thrilling Second Chance Romance is a good feel second chance romance between former high school sweethearts. Fast forward 10 years later when Shawn Ryan, quarterback of the Houston Heroes and Lauren Gordon, CEO & owner of LG Training and Consulting are forced back together when Shawn commit’s a faux pas on national tv and he has to attend one of Lauren’s sessions. This is a good book, I enjoyed reading it!
Shawn is a quarterback for an NFL team. Even if he grew up in a normal household he seems to have forgotten his manners. One wrong word and he feels like the world will not forgive him.
Lauren is a smart girl and owns her own business. She still can’t seem to let go of her past with Shawn and move on.
Now after 10 years they see each other again, have either of them changed?
I loved the feel of the book, but in the end I don’t feel like they resolved what broke them up. It was never discussed.
Standalone with no cliffhangers.

Shawn and Lauren both have another chance at romance. He is prone to having no filter and doesn’t think before he speaks, which gets in in trouble too many times to count. His team forces him into a sensitivity training course with Lauren as his trainer. They have history together but can they resolve all of their affairs to have another go at this? Great second chance at love story!

Loved this book it’s such a sweet love story of childhood sweethearts Shawn & Lauren who broke up when left to become a big star football player. After he makes a cockup in an interview his managers send him on a ‘sensitivity training course’ he meets up again with Lauren who is the training leader. Without getting to talk they go back to their normal lives but both end up going back home for different reasons but the connection between them is still there. I couldn’t put this book down reading it in one go hoping that they would get back together.

Shawn and Lauren were once high school sweethearts, even dating the first couple of years of college. The went their separate ways, but had to cross paths when he said something on air that sent him to sensitivity training. This is a fun read with an HEA.
